How am i suppose to tell which item is which if its in Japanese and there isn't a patch yet?

The look of it. What dropped it. It's stats, ect ect.

Use the look of the weapon/stats like Chuck_Norris suggested, or learn Katakana. Katakana is easy to learn, and will let you translate a good deal of the items in PSU/PSP.
