Well I've finally decided to try this game about two months ago and I have to say I'm having some fun with it now. Well there are a couple of FKLers that play as well too. We even have our own guild :o! We are playing on a private server with a higher exp rate than the official server so its less grindy as this game is known for. So if you want to play I guess I can give you the server info like with BB?

Also at times we play these games together:

Dead Branch: Dead branches are items that summon random monsters. The object of this game is summon as many as you can and fight off the enemies most of the time you'll die. Works better if some of the game population are standing around not expecting it.

Poring Soccer: Soccer with PvP mixed in great with big teams.

Trivia with Adam C.: Just some dude who just gives out alot of money for answering questions. Try your luck during those days.

Known errors:
When you create your first character on this server for some people it may tell you to wait 24 hours. This is a lie. Just make your character with the default hairstyle. Make sure you change your stats and pick your name. You can go to the stylist ingame and change your hairstyle, haircolor, and clothes color for free.

Sometimes when applying points to your skills it will ask you to apply but the skill level will remain the same. To fix this turn the skill window into the small view by pressing the "-" button on the skill window. Then apply the points after.

Gravity's making a new trans in the original lines, like for Knight and such, but I'm not sure when these are actually supposed to be released. I just know about some people that picked it up again and are trying private servers that supposedly have them... but, I'm not sure how true this is or if they're just using the sprites and crafting the designs in the meantime, so maybe they're just not available yet.

Well, there IS an attack where you spend zeny and the attack you do gets more powerful depending on how much you spend.. (EX 1000Z = 600% ATK)

But they fight just like everything else, except with axes. If you become an alchemist, the main thing that sets you apart is the homunculus, and if you become a blacksmith you can do things like forge and refine weapons as well as cast self-buffs that do cool shit.

Ah, so they basically have a variable Charge special. At the same time, it also reminds me of Final Fantasy 10's Yojimbo. It was funny watching that humongous monster get chopped in half by Zanmato.

When I watched Yojimbo, it was one of the Arena monsters that someone beat with Rikku alone. It was a very long and annoying fight, so the person got revenge on the beast by fighting the monster again and having it Zanmato-ed. :wacko:

I clicked the shortcut in my Start Menu, which leads to "C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO\RebirthRO.exe"

The thing auto patched itself.

Its not an item, its just the single best evasion technique in the game.

Basically, only magic can reliably harm a ninja. And ninjas are also mages, and you know what that means.

No, ninja on ninja would boil down to to whoever got fried first. (unless one is melee, in which the caster probably wins by frying the melee guy, or both are melee, where its a draw)

Don't see many Rogues, for that reason I made one just two days ago and re birthed him yesterday (it really does not take long at all, if I had started playing earlier it's easily obtainable within a day.) Thing is, I really hate playing rogues, as they are more of a PvP class and I do so loathe PvP. You can build them for MvP as I have, but they still suck compared to other classes, and lose any good PvP abilities in the process (though you can always reapply stats and skills for 150k a piece, or both for a combined, discounted rate) Just not fun for me, I like taking out montsers in groups. Sage/Scholar is fairly rare to, Spike has one for some reason. I don't like them much either myself.

There are plenty of knights, crusaders, wizards, hunters, assassins, monks, and taekwons since they are all the heavy hitters, everyone just loves to be them. There's never to many priests, and if you are one it'll be easy as fuck to get into a party if you're support based. Almost everyone has a gunslinger on their account, but never really plays them it seems (like they just leveled them up to have a gun char and then were done with it.)

Minstrel and Dancer are rare, only seen a few people play these classes well. For the most part they suck, I suppose because people don't use them right, but since I never play the class I wouldn't know how.

Alchemists and Biochemists are somewhere in the middle, I think the only reason there are as many as there are is because of the ability to have a Homunculus. Blacksmith/Whitesmith I only see every now and then. I don't see many ninjas for some reason, despite them being overpowered in certain ways. I think most people are just sick of the "ninja" anything like I am.

Really though, due to the high rates, any class is actually playable. It basically just comes down to certain classes kill shit faster than others, some support better than others, some are better for PvP, and some are good for WoE.

I think they've done MVP arena once or twice, not very often. However gathering up dead branches and then using them until we get an MVP is pretty common.

Clock Tower 1, first room, desperado. 3-5 Bathories die each time. Repeat until out of SP, warp to town, repeat.

Got my last 10 base gunslinger levels in maybe 45 minutes.

I've done the MVP arena a few times with Toadthroat, Frone, and Tess. Was pretty fun, I got a really good card out of it that takes out the gemstone use for some magic skills. So now I can spam Sanctuary, Warp Portal, Baslica, Safety Wall, Resurrection, and Magnus Extorcismus on my High Priest without using any gemstones. Though it increases the amount of SP usage by 25% D:.

We need to get a game of Poring ball going sometime.

it's pretty much exactly like PSOs soccer game, except the ball is a poring and it's done with point and click

I got the Japanese version of the PSO skin, i already know where all the buttons are so it doesn't matter much.

Well you don't have to hit each other. It just adds a bit of flair to it.
EDIT: Also going off to the sidelines restores your HP and also even if you do lose inside the soccer room by player kill you respawn in 5 seconds.

No there are still people who will go out and hunt MVPs. Actually one time I did fine some people who helped me take down Dark Lord in the Glast Heim Churchyard.

Oh I don't hit too hard ;). Though yeah, its mainly only us playing in there so you won't really have to worry about some level 255 Assassin coming in there and Sonic Blowing everyone to death. Though I'm pretty sure you'll have fun with Dead Branch and Boss battles.

to some extent, yes, but not near as much (reason being players walk faster and recover faster than most monster's animations.) I wouldn't rely on it.

well, there's two ways you can go about that. One is to create a supernovice, which gets all the skills of the first classes you can pick from (merchant, swordsman, archer, alcolyte, thief, etc.) And their bonus attributes are dead even. It's basically a make it however you want character. However there are some major drawbacks, your HP and SP are horribly low. You're pretty much just plain weak for a long time.

The other route would be to make a knight and collect any weapons that allow you to cast spell, then cycle your equips to get the appropriate spell and cast it (not that hard, you can hotkey equips.)

Sage's are pretty much the Red Mages of the RO world. They're decent in melee combat, have double casting, auto-cast (x% to cast a single target spell at the thing you're attacking), and some other cool skills.

This isn't completely the same but, you can SORTA do that without being a Supernovice, magic sword user, or Paladin. You can go the Thief course and become a Stalker. Though focus your attack stats on Str and Int. Stalkers get a skill called Plagiarize(I think that is what its called) which can allow them to copy the last attack that was done on them. So you can focus on using a dagger as a melee weapon and ask a mage to hit you with a magic attack and keep it.

Use the default hairstyle and then change it after the tutorial when you go to the stylist in Prontera.

Tact... You can level a character to 99 in a single Saturday easily. You can then get up to second job rebirthed the following sunday. The only slow leveling is at 70+. (And thats releative, since you can still be scoring 1% a kill well past that)

What are the benifits of going from hunter->sniper?

I don't particularly like the sniper outfit, and I love baby falcons. However, I don't want to make a SRS MISTAKE.

You get more skills, and you can go to a higher job level, so you have more potential points to use on your skills. (On this server, you can go to 120 after rebirthing. Thats almost your entire skill tree.)

Your stat bonuses for job levels are also better.

And your base level (On this server, at least) can then go up to 255.

And you can use more gear.

Change to sniper... you can't go wrong. (Unless of course you hate the outfit, then theres nothing you can do)

Of course, you do have to start leveling from 1/1 novice again, but you'll reach x/50 archer fast enough.

Oh Berserk, how I love/hate thee. Well anyway I completed the secret to surviving Thor's Volcano without using donation equipment. This is better for melee orientated characters but I saw a support priest down there doing this as well.

Ingredients:
Level 110+

Fire armor: Either Pasana Carded armor or Lucius's Fierce Armor of Volcano(For merchant and swordsmen based classes only)

Jakk card: Resist fire element by 30%

Valkyrja's Shield: Resist Fire, Water, Undead and Shadow element by 20%. This is probably optional.

Last reset your stats dump a fuckton of them into agi until you have near max aspd(196 is max though I have mine at 192) After that put some into str and dex and pray you don't take alot of damage. :P
