Do You Think Segac Can Pull Off The Uni/Server Fix/Downsize This Upcoming Week?

given their past track record... no

I'll believe. They're not adding the uni's, they're getting rid of them. I'd say their track record of adding things is bad, but can't say that of removal...

Its possible but I don't see what the point of reducing the number of universes will accomplish. This will be interesting though.

inb4fkl  But as someone before me said, they can do stuff like this with no problem usually. It's just events, content update, and system updates that get them (aka everything else).

sigh super negative stuff XD

Pika
Oct 19, 2008, 12:27 AM
of course. why wouldnt they be able to do what they said they would do?

i bet even if sega gave us everything everyone wanted and more most of yall would still find something to be negative about and complain...

Since no one knows what it is they will be doing, isn't speculation as to whether they can do said activity or not a bit premature?

It's just freeing up space and what not for sega, since there is no need for 30 universes when we use 2-3, maybe 4 or 5 if all the other people were to move down to the top 5

Monday they are stating their plans.

Monday they are stating their plans.

My point exactly. If the question is whether they can handle publicly stating their plans on Monday, I'd go ask my magic 8 Ball. I just did, and it said "My sources say no." So there's your answer.

There are a few possible reasons for doing this... 1) If they lower servers or partitions, whichever it actually is, this means less maintenance and monitoring for them to do. 2) They will be able to give the false impression that the gaming community is solid if we have 4 universes with a couple stars and not 17 that are empty. 3) They get to irresponsibly imply they really care about the gaming community by doing things like this, mission spotlight, Hal radio, etc. when really all the players want is the 8-9 months of delayed new content that is well past due. Preferably without bugged end boxes in it.

I think they can do it. If sega can take away our hopes then taking away our excess universes should be a piece o' cake!

I would go for 8 named servers. Having them delegated to certain areas/events does not make much sense for PC/PS2 servers. One server for low level players does sound like a great idea however..

Kylie
Oct 20, 2008, 08:25 PM
It's not like they have to merge anything or alter something besides names, so it'd be an embarassment if they failed.
