View Full Version : Import players

there seems to be a pattern: people import, play for awhile (maybe 1 month) then stop playing.
I've not ever heard a reason why these players quit.
currently, I'd say in the past week, i've seen like ~10 total importers online, with 0-3 ppl on at a given time.

maybe people should tell us their expectations before joining (like leveling them up, having a spot available for them in a party, not soloing missions to level up, etc), so we can tell them if it's at all possible, or what of their expectations can be met (instead of wasting their money on a month of game play)

And then there are people (like myself) who needs to cut down on play time to completely prevent burn out. If I'm counting correctly, there are about 4 other people who are currently recuperating in this state XD

That is why on the last thread about "how to play in JP server".
I told them to think wisely rather than just promoting it like some other.

Well, good that I always curious, so I asked them.
Most likely, the feed back is that they don't like the feeling that they can't communicate with people they see/play with.
Most people had known this before and thought that they would be able to bear this.
However, in the reality, they couldn't stand THAT for the long period of time that an online game require.
(it is online game, communication matter a lot)

it has been like this all the time.
and then when that person realize this fact:
50% he will be casual/very casual. (there is no motivation to power up when he can't communicate)
30% he will just quit the game (he has no hope left, once JP server turn him down, and that is also because of communication problem)
20% he will turn back to US server. (he choose to get slow update, but not to lose majority of enjoyment from communication problem)

you can see that all of the very active players currently are like Lyrise, Midori, Lina who has decent lv of JP language.
People like Espiokaos would surely do fine in JP server.

Don't worry about the part of importer community, it is very good enough.
Compare:
JP-importers : most friendly, close together, but very very small population.
PC/PS2(west) : friendly, close together as group by group, but small population.
Xbox360 : less friendly, but large population

Myself and BIGGIE aren't on because we don't have the spare money to keep both the JP and US accounts on at the same time due to some personal financial problems (hoping to get this remedied in the next 2-3 months ;.; ) My bank charges me international fees and the flux of how much it runs means the US account is a little bit cheaper. You should expect to see us returning.

i love playing the jpn servers. i was upset about having computer problems for so long and not being able to play. i don't find the language difference too bad. i make an effort and most of the other players do too. but yeah the shortage has been a little difficult lately. but i find ways to fill my time and try not to become too bummed out by it. and when people are on it's still fun XD

I'm pretty burnt out myself, but I am trying to pop on every now and then. Also trying to catch up on the big-ass backlog of games that have piled up (and are still growing...) since PSU came out. D:

An accumulation. Like a built up list.

I won't leave Tierra and Axel incomplete or anything less than level 200. So I'll be back when the time is right. I have a newer, more gamer savvy laptop now. So maybe playing will be less of a hassle when I do return.

Although this week would be a good time to return. Casino Fever event starts Thursday. 10x coins, tweaked slot rates, and boosted payouts (the second week).
