Okay. I'm on PSU and when I try to talk to one of my friends (by text on the screen) they apparently don't see it (from what I see). Is that even possible? Or maybe they are just ignoring me? From what I think, they are just ignoring me, but any other possible things?

I can go in their rooms though. It's really weird, was just typing to them and then, no more messages at all. I just think they are ignoring me.

Well if it were something like the lag that comes before a possible server disconnect then you wouldn't be able to see your own text, but since you do then I'm guesssing that you're being ignored.

If you are on the 360 version it could be possible if they muted you via your gamer card. It acts just like the blacklist in that it blocks your text except you can still party with the person and enter their room.
