The village is famous for its contraction of the words "Sex", "Bier" (the Dutch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_language) word for beer) and "Rum". Because of this, the traffic sign (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_sign) of the village is subject to street sign theft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_sign_theft).
