Etrian Odyssey II.

The Dominate skill completely binds the target, rendering them incapable of using any skills. Basically, you can run away, or make a basic attack.

Its very useful in boss fights, for obvious reasons.

(The caveat is that Dominate is a Force Skill, meaning you have to spend a fair amount of combat time filling the gauge to use it. Or you can use items to fill the gauge.)

I casted mirror move on TOH earlier,

summarizing what it does, whatever spells (or items that have spell like effects) that are used on the victim are then reflected back at the user (the victim still takes damage though). the only thing that doesn't reflect is positive status effects such as attack up or hp regain

Talon, Ecstasy has no effect on anyone who hasn't been fully bound. (Like with Dominate)

So it doesn't really do anything to me.

@random: it wouldn't work just with ecstasy, it rebounds all negative spell effects, damage, binds, everything negative, even spells like revenge are rebound after the victim takes the hit, possibly one of the most nasty spells in existence

Climax is an insanely fast attack, and cannot miss if the target is weak enough to be insta-killed. (If they aren't weak enough, its a regular attack)

I'll confess, only some of the bosses are vulnerable to instant death. Pretty much any FOE you encounter is, though. (FOE=minibosses, but there's a lot of them, and they chase you, etc...)

a pretty crappy one... i hate one hit killz... i hate using them, i hate it when they are used on me, they can only be defined as cheap, thankfully they are worthless in heroes of might and magic due to magic mirror spell (aka mass suicide)

The climax of the story was pretty good after uh health hit below 55%, the classic suspense builder.

It was devoid or uh void(gic?) of any cliché twists and Shamalyan/Koontz's cop outs.
