Good point. Catholics are filthy Papists, hellbent on installing that guy with the big, delicious, kissable ring (possibly a Ringpop, which is totally an awesome idea in case you're listening, Mr. Ratzinger, sir your eminemence) and funky hats as Supreme High King of America.

But that still doesn't explain anything, does it, seeing as I'm a card-carrying member of the Communist Party*, and we don't invite JC to our shindigs anymore (it's not your politics, baby; it's the Company You Keep--and I don't mean New York Life; I'm talking about those prostitutes, baby. When will they quit dealing in that Devil Money?).

None of these, of course, actually fits. I more or less believe that there's probably some god/gods/whatever out there, but that in general he/she/it/they just leave us alone, probably out of apathy but perhaps because they trust us to more or less take care of ourselves. What this god/gods/whatever might actually be, dunno. Could be the Christian god, could be the Greek gods, could be the Flying Spaghetti Monster, could be *insert fantasy world*'s god(s), whatever. Doesn't really matter. Unless the bastard(s) start talking to me, in which case, dude, creepy, and can't you find better company anyway? Hey god(s), this game sucks, can we make up some houserules to make it better? Maybe he/she/it/they created or helped create the universe, maybe they came along later and are just pretending to have created it, or were created along with it. Scientific theories are probably right, barring a more accurate theory coming along, but may have had some outside cause.

As for the afterlife, I tend to like to think there is one, since the concept of the non-existence of myself/others generally horrifies the living fuck out of me. The religions that actively work towards the extinction of self make me wince. Sure, I may frequently dislike my life/myself/whatever, but... Yeah, I'm here and I'd generally prefer to stay that way, y'know?

*shrug* Cross between agnostic and 'yeah whatever'. Science is right, but that doesn't preclude the possibility of some bored guy sitting on a cloud fucking with things. Someone had to have thought the platypus was a good idea.
