View Full Version : Improvements for PSU?

This thread is for people to list all possible improvements to PSU. DO NOT EVER disount or in any way make someone else's suggestion seem invalid, that is not what this thread is for. DO NOT critisize any ideas, simply post your own. I want to see what people come up with, and I will add some to my current ticket. You should also open a ticket, as the more input that seems very similar, the more likely it will be addressed, especially since Sega is a for profit corporation and can't possibly turn down a way to optimize profit, especially if some ideas wouldn't take many man hours to do.

Take off level cap and make all missions/clothes/classes/weps just content avalible. This isnt working out. Occasionly update for new events, lobbies, and small fixes. You dont know how well the game would do if it was ran like that.

In the hopes that they actually do another expansion, let me try to post two things they should improve.

The AI needs to be a lot better. And I mean a lot better. The AI for NPCs in PSO could at least take care of themselves a little better and not stand around when a swarm approaches. Strangely though, PSP's AI was tweaked a little better, so they should go off by that.

Hmm.... I had this idea for a while, but PMs should be allowed to have items equipped in battle. I would like for my PM to not be overwhelmed in 2 or 3 attacks because he has a crappy armor set.

I have more, but I'll leave these two for now.

loads of more weapons especially slicers

here is an idea that would be challenging

say in a room, random enemies appear, and each time you kill one, one pops up again, except its a higher level than the one you killed...and it keeps going on till the party dies...meaning the monsters level can get up as high as your party can handle

no join in midmission, no going to lobby and coming back

and drops are reduced

I'ma call it a gaunlet...and periodically a meteor or something will rain down..or traps will respawn

Lets keep the suggestions flowing! The more the better. Even if your suggestion sounds absurd, I'd like to here it.

All i would like to see are the following:
(1) Keep a ratio from Japan/USA about even when it comes to content.
(2) Have a better balance selection (Race/Gender). Example.....with the exception of the agito repca and the de ragan slayic....the kan yu is the strongest sword but one male can use it. Or the Gudda Hons where only beast can use.

Thats all i ask :P

Your refering to a survival like mission. I believe lightning carnival has somethin similiar to that.

I remember PSO had something like this... it was called endless i think i forgot

It would be an interesting mission

More team work involved. There was a point in this game where you had to stick together to keep from dying. Death should be a heavy price so instead of one person goes to side room "A" while others go elsewhere 1 team should branch into groups and get busy. More traps would be a good thing too along with increased damage from traps. Burn/Poison/Infection in this game are nothing. You eat it and keep going. If Infection say...took 1/10 of your life per tick I bet you'd reach for the Sol or Antimate then or wish a techer was around you. Also if Protransers can see traps but have to put on goggles to take them out whats the point when the rest of the team runs right through them? Kinda negates the purpose... :/

If another expansion comes out I'd like to see US/EU on a different update schedule then JP rather then the JP schedule just months behind. I believe US/EU not knowing what is coming up next would make worlds of improvement to the game. Knowing what we 'should' have is why so many people have gotten angry and quit now.

Hmm, an interesting improvement for the Force class I'd like to make known in terms of weapons...

Unarmed teching, or I should say, specialized gloves for teching for the Force class. They should give a huge MST boost, but should be restricted to possibly... one or two techs. I can imagine how awesome it would look.

For the current PSU AOtI(NA/EU) before the next expansion:
-we need to get the official long term content update schedule for the next 3-4 months just like the ones Japan server gets regularly, this is the most critical step to not get any further behind and catch up with the schedule they have planned out for us.

For the new expansion:
- 4 more character slots in addition to existing ones,
- make item transfer box at least 3 times larger than now,
- new higher job types after master classes(they may call it Expert+ or Elite, requirements are similar to the jump from normal type to expert classes),
- new gameplay moves or upgrades, such as sprint dash or somersault move for fighters to be able to dodge attacks then launch counter attack at command, side roll for rangers, & co-op combination technic attacks for techers or double casting.
- totally customizable PM's or even NPC's, in addition to be able to equip any wep & armors in the game, you can transfer your own PA's to them.
- photon blast for Humans & Newmans equivalent to SUV & nanoblast: berserker for humans giving them 150% ATP boost or attack speed boost for short period of time, psychic blast for newmans giving them 150% TP boost or Lv50+ tech PA for short period of time,
- rework/reskin all robots in the game to eliminate the slow down bug for good(on X360),
- make tech visual effect nerf optional or make them transparent.

1. Server merge (not happening, but it'd help)
2. Advertising
3. Competent staff
4. More funding (for 2 and 3)
5. More content (360/PS3/PC expansion)
6. Catch the NA/EU side up in content ASAP
7. Less "easy mode" events and more areas, etc.

No-brainers for me, so I can't really elaborate them. :-?

I second this part of Hypershot's post. If I remember correctly, during the early stages of PSU's development, Ethan could kick his enemy. Some unarmed basics intergrated with the gameplay could evolve the style of fighting.

making the normal attacks more attractive to use...kinda like a mag/material/photon art....with each weapon has its own lvl(PA) and it maxes out at like 80 or something..and each 2 levels (depending on the weapon) increases a stat by 1 or 2 points...so a maxed out normal attack on a gun would have increased your ata by *** amount

A well written apology to SoJ from SoA for trying to turn away from a country that makes 80% if not more of our games.... (thats just me....)

Um... (some of these were mention before)

1.) A roll function would be nice, you could use direction + enter/X since that button isnt used very much on the field.
2.) More options would be nice like chat filter and also to do away with the censor thing.
3.) Options to change your PM's gear and better AI for NPCs
4.) Free Missions with Tankers, Chickens, and Floaders would be nice.
5.) An improved Drop rate system (drops being randomly decided at start of mission is stupid)
6.) More space in common boxes
7.) Rebalance drops (the fact that lvl 150+ mobs still droping momomates is really stupid)
8.) More interaction between the GMs and the people
9.) A long term schedule would be nice, Be more organized
10.) A new login system (this billing site connected to game isnt working)
11.) More Emotes
12.) Increase the Pallette from 6 to 8
13.) A search function for ppl
14.) Make use of that "View Information" thing on our Vision Phone (like provide updates on ideas or plans for the future)
15.) Logic (I really question some logics in this game)
16.) Do away with preset colors and allow use to choose or make our color for clothes and parts
17.) More creation options
18.) A taxation system would be helpful in at least slightly lowering inflation
19.) Combing different enemies attacks on mobs (At least they wont be so predictable all the time...)
20.) Provide some form of answer to our questions (the "there was a glitch" or "bug in the update" is getting old... and also if there is bugs and stuff, give us updates on how proccess is going)
21.) For SoJ, SoA, and the ppl to end our meanless hate for each other and to shake hands on a fresh new start.

My suggestion is for Sega to sell the PSU franchise to Nintendo, I'd personally would love to get room decorations of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and Yoshi. Also Nintendo would provide better service than Sega could also they could try a Wii port if they could get PSU

Or Sega gives us a massive update to even the US server with the Japanese server so we would get all the items they have (Sange and Yasha, De-Ragan Slayer, Guld and Milla, all Stique weapons, Tiga De Ragan, Apocalypse, Dallgunrod, Rutsularod, Holy Ray, and everything else SoJ released on the japanese servers bugged or not cause we deserve it too. and a million meseta for all US users as compensation for poor service

and above all one suggestion for Sega is for this

sounds like my fonewearl in pso ultimate.... could easily be one hit by any attack of the bosses I could down, because I just got that skilled with my fonewearl. But back to the point: This game needs money sinks, add weapon damage and a cost to repair that scales with weapon rarity so that some of the money is going somwhere rather than creating rediculous prices for in game items in player shops.

Higher difficulty like v1,game's too much of a cakewalk as it is(baring Magashi in Bladed Legacy).

A way to send and recieve items from your PM rather than having to stop by your room everytime because it's rather annoying when you want to do a mission requiring different elements and you have to make a room stop to equip for it.

A way to quickly switch between all of your characters.

i have to agree with the gauntlet/challenge mode i liked the concept on PSO. you start at lvl 1 no money and starter equipment so what dropped is what you had to work with.

i also like the idea of having a diffrent and unknown schedule from japan as well. if the comunity is oblivious to japans updates they wont be so mad when we get it later...... as long as ther is an update at the scheduled time (just remove the bugged part of it then give it to us in the update following the fix)

one thing im supprised to not see on here is people wanting player vs. player capeability. this would be nice if it could be balanced... ie. forces and rangers are a fighters worst nightmare.... the range that rifles and most techs can reach would slaughter a fighter before they could get close enough to use a pistol.

clothes/parts in general i think need an overhaul. most female clothes make your charecter look like a whore (sorry i couldnt think of a more polite way to say it) and the color combanations are sorry at best.... we should have the option to change indivdual colors on our clothes. the casts have a sad selection of parts.... not all of us want a bulky cast charecter.

more charecter spots. i have 4 charecters and all are above 80 so i really dont want to scrap them. i like helping the newer people learn the game yet i dont want to help in a run and end up taking all the exp from them cause i have a high lvl charecter with some of the best wepons available and there are times i just want to start over just to remember the times i had in the begining.

give all missions the same (or close to) exp/mesata/dorp rate as white beast......... people might start to stray from there and in turn stay a lil more intrested in the game longer. ive had a few friends quit because they were spammers and got bored, others cause they dont want to spam one run just to have conversationin the game.

i doubt we will get a response from this but atleast i put my word in. thats all that can be done at this time.

I agree, take off the level cap, and add a new mission every 2 weeks. Then remove that mission and add a new one. Then you could get away with adding special events every 6 months because there would actually be something to do with the new missions.

make boxes more appealing to open, such as rare weapons/armor...

oh and to help inflation...what about some kind of a verrry high interest rate loan? not sure how that would work tho

I also liked from pso where you arrived at Dark falk sometimes your party will fail

also, how about a customizable photon blast/nanoblast w/e

and make the lvl cap at 200

How about mates and those types of items pricing scale according to the level of the player buying them, and being unable to trade those items with players that are more than 5 levels above or below you, and being able to carry a maximum of 1 scape doll, or only being able to get them as drops.

bring back Endless Mode.

PM device parts that can transform one's PM into one of many SEGA classic characters; it would be a neat thing to see Tails with a pair of swords or NiGHTS flying close by.

a video game arcade in the Casino that play classic SEGA games - either arcade, 8bit, 16bit up to Dreamcast would be a neat thing.

fix all the levels to give more decent drops - 99% photons & 1% rare is a bit unbalanced for any level.

more tech disks of abilities we haven't seen yet. also, fix the surround techs to push away the enemies with force. the PSP portable fixed this for fire & earth types, the xbox360 can benefit from that too.

forces need a lock-on like the hunters.

all classes need manual block & counter combos.

PSU needs an arena for either player vs enemies or PvP.

There are so many improvements but here are a few that shouldn't be hard to do:
- Word wrap for chat
- Fix the new universe listing( maybe left align the first column and center the second instead )
- Go through all item names and descriptions and fix inconsistencies
- Fix that robot glitch on the 360 for cryin-out-loud! I'm not even on 360 and I feel their pain.

..and two bigger suggestions:
- Make it so enemies do NOT stammer from normal hits unless its a Just-Attack and make it so combo chains can be interrupted. This used to be the case but with intro to JA they changed it; presumably to help people get used to it at first.
- Bring back 'Endless Nightmare' free missions for a couple of areas per planet that are intense enough to warrant 'boss boxes'.
- Bring back Challenge Mode; May be too involved without a design for JP PSU first but I find it hard to believe that nobody there has asked to get it back.

EDIT: A PSU 'bank' would be interesting. You could gradually build a line of credit by taking out loans and paying them back which would eventually earn you a 'credit card' of sorts. May not be suitable for the current economy but it would lol worthy.

Seconded.
Level should go to 999, since that's probably all it has space for. Missions should be dynamically generated instead of hard-coded into the game, e.g. C, B, A, S1-S99 with simple enemy stat multipliers.

Also...
JA for TECHNICs.

Agreed, generated maps would make the enemies more pleasing to meet, because itīs never the same. Also, there shouldnīt be just area specifik, they could just make up a difficulty letīs say itīs called "Phantom Dimension aka PD for short" where enemies is from all over the game (no boundaries seeing as this world is set in a different dimension of the infinite possible variants =).

That would make the game alot more fun. =P

Tougher enemies...and I don't mean even more 1,2 hit kills....give them more PP and less ATP....We shouldn't be able to kill level 160 creatures with one SUV...........Increase the palette to 8 or 10...or we don't want to use the space then we won't..but give people options...its a pain for melee characters who don't have the benefit of switching elements and have to constantly go back to your room for more..........Also...Truly Rare items...our game has a few....but eventually every event drops so many rares(rucar and blades, gudda hons, double agitos for ex...with repca drops from carnicval soon to tarnish its rarity)) it ruins the economy even more... because items like catilium and goldania and walna which are needed for every single rare get boosted to ridiculous prices.......Game advertisement would be nice and...i'll think of more later because it is 6 AM

OH YES I FORGOT.........MAKE LEVELING ACTUALLY HARD AFTER LEVEL 100....leveling to 100 is a pain..but i believe it's fair to allow newer player to level up and be able to do all S2 missions....but once you hit 100...please...make it HARD!...i am tired of events every 2 months wth a level cap 5 or 10 levels away...giving like 500k exp a run...seeing Noobs with 4 characters at lvl 140 or whatever the cap is....it is ridiculous.......I purposely did not level through Mag..and it still only took me a week and a half to level 132 to 140 getting 60k exp a run doing 20 minute dark satellite runs......Make it easy to 100 and very challeneging afterwards....not everyone may agree because ZOMG I WANT TO BE 1337 but when you cap you lose half the fun.

COMPLETELY revamp all classes to balance them. I'm tired of not wanting to play my favorite class because a class I don't really like does so much more damage.

Ezodagrom
Nov 2, 2008, 07:13 PM
- Class rebalance, including master classes. Maybe giving lvl 50 PAs to the expert classes, nerfing fortefighter and fighmaster and boosting guntecher and wartecher (maybe even a new S rank for each, card for guntecher, claw or whip for wartecher).
- Photon Arts rebalance, mainly techs. Maybe something like ratechs, gitechs and noszonde/nosmegid hitting multiple parts of big enemies.
- New photons arts, but not just striking. New bullets and techs too.
- Newman and Human racial abilities...Why the strongest races have special abilities and the weakest ones don't have anything except crea junk weapons?
- Enemies and bosses stats boost (large boosts).
- No more events with big xp/drop boosts. Something like 125% - 175% rates (25% - 75% boosts) instead of 250% - 500% rates (150% - 400% boosts). Same for rare missions (maybe 200% - 250% rates for those instead of 500%).
- New original bosses, enough of reskins. Reskins should be used to higher lvl missions instead (for example new reskin at lvl 200, stronger and faster than the original and with new attacks). Same for new areas (on AoTI the only really new areas until now were rozenom, habirao and rykros, kinda).

If youre on a Mission A rank let the A rank reward boxes drop anything that drops on C or B.

If youre on a Mission S rank let the boxes drop anything C B or A as well as S.

And the most important - if youre on S2 let anything from that mission drop in the reward boxes.

2 examples of why this is needed.

1) Sakura Blast. S and S2 the jigo booma drops a Viper Pistol or a Cacataur Chair or Shato. But if you want a NEI CLAW you gotta suffer through a boring ass B or C rank run.

2) True Darkness S2 drops the Cubo Tuma and the Blackheart Saber. But f you want the Blackbull you gotta do S one. Why? Its the same boss and he's weaker but he drops the more rare gun versus a super common crossbow and a not-so popular saber.

Again the boss boxes should drop anything in them not just the MONOMATES and the KUBARA WOOD we deserve on S2 >_>

Hello peoples; browsing the forums out of boredom and came across this so I thought I'd chip in. I'm a new player (less than a month) and not someone who normally plays RPGs (Much less online ones) so maybe a n00b's perspective can be useful?

I see a lot of people complaining about drops, and I'd like to add to the pile. It would be less insulting if, after spending five minutes playing solo chipping away at a miniboss, it dropped NOTHING as opposed to a Monomate. Monomate, specifically, seems to be a common drop for enemies that actually require some modicum of effort while the cannon fodder mobs are dropping B and A rank weapons and materials like it's going out of style.

Increase the requirements for weapons and armor so you can't use them until later in the character's development. I was able to buy Paradi Cataract and use it at like level 50 and it's so ridiculously overpowered for anything I fought at that time. (I still don't bother to use anything else...) Do NOT nerf the weapons! Make the enemies tougher! There's a difference!

With regards to inflation, I also agree with the suggestion to add more money sinks. Perhaps buying Vol coins instead of getting free ones every day (at some high exchange rate, say 5000 meseta per bronze or something) with no option to convert Vol coins back to meseta. Might make it possible to get enough coins to make gambling fun and wrthwhile. An alternative would be to just make getting money a bit harder to begin with...

With regards to new content/updates. How about an event where the community can contribute? I can understand the need for Sega/Game staff to keep a strict filter on user-contributed content (else the balance issues would end up even worst, not to mention all sorts of penis-shaped weapons and enemies, etc...) but I see little harm with releasing tools for players to create their own levels/clothing/parts/room decos etc and having some kind of event where they get submitted for official review.

Someone mentioned more teamwork missions. This is a good idea! I had an opportunity to try "Her Secret Mission" recently and there's just no way to do that without some serious pre-planning. We could use more missions like that, and make the rewards worth the effort. (HSM seriously requires some Black Ops style mission planning to S-rank, and the reward should reflect that.)

We could use more VARIETY of enemies. Sure there's a huge list, but it's obvious even to me that most of them are just the same exact enemy AI and animations with different models and TECHNICs. For example, what's the difference between a Galdeen (http://psupedia.info/Galdeen) and a Ageeta (http://psupedia.info/Ageeta)? Nothing. Once you've played through a few levels you already know the movement and attack patterns of nearly every enemy in the game. Even the bosses are just clones of each other.

The ability to equip (but not use) weapons in lobbies/rooms so you can show other players. (e-Penis comparison, etc). Same for PMs. Also, how is it I can bring my PM along during a mission but people can still visit my shop?

Other misc. things (some mentioned before):

1) Drops for high rank missions include those for lower rank missions

2) Word wrap for chat (so annoying!)

3) Fix the AI to not get stuck on little corners, both NPC and enemy** (also very annoying)

4) Weapon damage but not to the point you lose the weapon completely (except maybe C/B rank weapons...) Failed grinding might also damage a weapon.

5) Stop putting 1-3 star stuff in boss boxes. Seriously. By the time you're mature enough to take on a boss without significant help you probably don't have a problem finding Photons.

6) Possibly limit the range of character levels in a single party. I think someone mentioned this or something like it: Teaming up a lvl140 char with a lvl5 char is just silly. Limit parties to characters that are within 30-40 levels of each other max.

7) Make the Vision Phone "Info" function do something. At the very least, copy the announcement banner text into there so I can actually read it.

8) Make the Bulletin Board game-wide (someplace for players to advert/request things to everyone else) and add a player-specific messaging systems similar to the current BB setup. The ability to send "Simple Mail" from my vision phone to any player I know the name of (versus needing their card first) would be nice too, though the card would still be needed to send mail to players when away from your phone.

9) Is it possible to receive mail when offline? If not, it should be. In-game storage for messages would be useful.

Hello peoples; browsing the forums out of boredom and came across this so I thought I'd chip in. I'm a new player (less than a month) and not someone who normally plays RPGs (Much less online ones) so maybe a n00b's perspective can be useful?

You make a lot of good points, but I do want the make a few comments.

1) Drops for high rank missions include those for lower rank missions

That would be nice, but then people would complain about receiving a Starra from an Olgohmon instead of a Creawand+ (just an example, I know people don't want creawand either). If you are going to have it drop stuff from lower ranked versions of the enemies, there should be a limit. Say 10~20 levels lower.

Of course this should have been in place from the beginning. Those old timers who remember the frustration of Rabol Dunga and Rabol Cuesta not dropping until well after both armors were virtually useless in the game know what I'm refering to. Moreso with Cuesta than Dunga. At least with Dunga you got a few months to make use of it before it became obsolete.

3) Fix the AI to not get stuck on little corners, both NPC and enemy** (also very annoying)

Not not normally a QFT type of guy, but QFT! I don't remember NPCs getting stuck at all in PSO. Goodness knows there were a few NPC I WISHED I could get stuck. I'd prefer to give them simple commands such as stay, fight, heal. Of course if they did give them simple commands, Bruce's Dungeon would then be an easy mission. "Hey Bruce! Stand here on the first block while we kill everything."

4) Weapon damage but not to the point you lose the weapon completely (except maybe C/B rank weapons...) Failed grinding might also damage a weapon.

Funny enough grinding weapons was one of our few money sinks that they took away. Before the expansion failed weapons broke with no way to recover them. So basically you had an x/10 weapon or you had no weapon at all. Of course this didn't mesh well with the fact that weapons were much harder to get in the before time (the drop rate on items was abysmal before the expansion) so people just didn't grind weapons.

5) Stop putting 1-3 star stuff in boss boxes. Seriously. By the time you're mature enough to take on a boss without significant help you probably don't have a problem finding Photons.

Eh, this one's not really a problem IMO. If people only got rares in boss boxes, that would devalue items even more than they currently are.

9) Is it possible to receive mail when offline? If not, it should be. In-game storage for messages would be useful.

If you receive a message when you are offline, it will be there when you first log into online. But it's a one time thing. If you don't read the message or, say, if your power cuts out before you get a chance to read, then the message is gone.

If this happens and it's imperative for you to know what the mail said you can always go into your PSU folder and open up the mail logs. Everything mailed to you within a certain time period is recorded in them I believe

I want 2 things, and that's it. And I don't see why they can't be implemented in the next expansion.

1.) You should be able to go up to any mission counter and be able to both view and join any mission currently in progress anywhere int he game, in that server. Obviously some missions will still be more popular than others, but this will help get rid of "hotspots" and not being able to find a party. There are a bunch of different ways they could do this. You could go up to the counter and the missions would be divided by planet perhaps. Maybe you could only join missions if they are in a lobby you have been to. Maybe you couldn't view all the missions on a server, but rather all the ones on that particular planet. Also, you should be able to filter by mission rank, and missions you are high enough level to join. You still have to be in a mission's specific lobby to start it, but people can join from anywhere. I think this would do wonders for the game.

2.) We need to be able to access our storage boxes from the lobbies. This is mostly for melee characters and the need for proper elemental equipment. Does the party want to go to from Parum to Moatoob all of a sudden? Now you don't have to leave the party and go all the way back to your room to swap out equipment.

Basically these 2 features also happen to be 2 things that were included in PSO, and are what I think the 2 biggest things PSO did better (aside from better music ;)).

Just a little list of ideas i think could work on the current or future expansion of Phantasy Star Universe....

Custom HUD(interface)

1.Players could pick and choose where they want their party member's "Simplified Status"( HP/max HP, EXP, and current level) is located on screen. Either vertical on the left(default) or right, or Horizontal. Interface can be transparent or temporary.

2.Another alternative, to reduce space on - screen, player's HP/Max HP/ PP could be located above the player's character( same location as the player's user name.)

My Room/Community

1.The Vision Phone: View Information was a good feature...offline... it showed unlocked missions...that's it lol..... The Online View Information could be used to display upcoming events, weekly updates, and Mission spotlight (an easy way for SEGAC Sonic Team to keep us updated).

2. Player card status - in mission, character select screen/logging on, absent, etc

3. Categorized player's card( not priority, but close friends, recent received card(s), etc)

That's about it...for now lol. Oh here's some self explanatory feature that could work!

1. NPC spawn(Rare enemy) - Similar to Rare Missions(e.g:Forest of illuminus), NPCs like Ethan, Tylor, and Karren could spawn at ANY MISSION on ANY PLANET randomly! they could drop really cool items!!!

PM walks FREELY in your room and interacts with your decorations!

Club jukebox - (this may or may not work) allows you to play any in-game PSU song in the club at a fee starting at 1mil meseta (this could work for parties and everyone could pitch in to pay) Song will only play for 1 hour...

Weather condition - rain, snow(from offline story mode), fire(fire break theme), mist, etc......(this could bet set before starting the mission; random or ON/OFF)

that's it........

Correct, as well as certain chat segments (not too sure if it's public or simply team only, i suspect the latter)

There was no mention of an expansion. Just some stuff in the works. Could mean anything. I would like a beter vol coin system where they are deposited into acount daily so I don't waste my time traveling all the way to casino (thou not long) just to deposit some coin.

The billing system needs a major overhaul. I started a nother game and dumped this one as it cancelled my account on me(again) and continued to decline my visa card. In the past it was a pain to get my account back on track so why would this time be different. Hopefully fixed before lightning carnival or I'm out for good this time

Whew, here I go. Here are some ideas I really want proliferated throughout the community. Some of them more than others.

First of all, Photon Arts. They're so cool and totally key in winning a battle. Can't go without them. But for melee it's frustrating to see a perfect opening to use one photon art, but you're stuck on your current weapon/PA combination. What I would like to see is more PA slots on two handed weapons as well, a second PA slot on one handed handguns. That way, like in a real action game, you've got all your moves at the tip of your fingers. A better solution would actually use a control scheme like Devil May Cry, so that depending which direction you hold while in lock on, your PA button does a different move.

Why don't we have evasive and defensive Photon Arts? This is not too much to demand, especially now that we've seen Phantasy Star Zero using dodge roll. I've mentioned this several times to people and it just seems like the next logical step. There could even be really rad Force and Gunner only moves that like... teleport really for or fire a burst of ammo.

I would also appreciate standardized items. This one is much more of a stretch, and I'm not sure if anyone would like this except me... The idea is that instead of carrying healing items that take up inventory space, you customize a standardized set of items that only comes into play once you're in a mission. You start the mission with a full set of whatever you've chosen and can be refilled at a PP station, like traps in PSO. You'd basically get a certain amount of points to fill out your healing item inventory. Certain ones would cost more points to carry, like scapes, moons, stars. It would have to be balanced so that you couldn't sacrifice a minimum of mono/di/trimates. This would also include traps, by the way. (though for classes that have more trapping power maybe there'd be more points that would apply only to traps)

Although, maybe what I'm talking about here is just Challenge Mode.

Speaking of which. I'm somewhat disappointed by the lack of interesting missions. If they poured more attention into providing tons more Party missions at the Guardian's Headquarters, people would be entertained for months with those. They take much more effort to play than regular missions and are usually much more fun, even if you fail. I mean, it's pretty obvious these things took the place of challenge mode, using similar obscure and strange puzzle elements than normal missions ever do. I would love it too... if the solutions to these puzzles weren't the same every single time. Wouldn't it be nice if you there was a puzzle, it's the same puzzle so you can recognize it when you see it, you can learn how to solve it, but the solution isn't the same every time? Provided that PSU already has a solid base to build upon, some randomized levels and puzzles would be nice. Maybe some travel missions that have branching paths that result in a different location? It'd really add a sense of exploration to the game that is basically non-existent otherwise.

Also, bring back Central Control Area. CCA was the apex of PSO. I want it back sooo hard.

Okay so, quick list.

-More photon art slots on two handed weapons and single handed handguns.

-Evasive and Defensive Photon Arts.

-Standardized Item system.

-New Party Missions. Possibly a Challenge Mode.

-Randomized aspects to missions, paths, enemies, and puzzles.

-CCA?! Pleeeease!

Just a quick thought:
Being able to add a single weapon to the palette multiple times would be extremely handy, especially if it was a wand for healing.

I think they could go back and make some of the older missions worth doing update the drops and mission point values.
I would also like to see them "block" cheap drops (monomate) from high lvl monsters I mean 100 + lvl monsters dropping them if you can defeat the monster what use do you have for allot of the stuff they drop? Not sure if it is possible but hey......
But I think the biggest thing is don't remove an event before the next one is ready to start. I have seen a huge drop off in the number of players while we wait for something anything decent.

1. Server merge (not happening, but it'd help)
2. Advertising
3. Competent staff
4. More funding (for 2 and 3)
5. More content (360/PS3/PC expansion)
6. Catch the NA/EU side up in content ASAP
7. Less "easy mode" events and more areas, etc.

No-brainers for me, so I can't really elaborate them. :-?

Added suggestion,
- More areas to explorer and more npc to intereact
- More contest (airstake, racing, puzzle solving)
- More quests (add seed ice mission)
- Expand voicephone where events and content can be annonced

Let's see:

1) Maybe Sega can "re-release events". Like there are several missions they took out, but it wouldn't hurt to leave them in without the event bonuses. That's like 13 or so mission's we've had, but don't have acess to. They might plan this anyway because they did do it with MAG.

2)Yeah, just make the level cap 200. Or they could try a new approach. Like make the "normal" level cap 200, but make it so you can still level beyond that. Just make it a lot harder to level and make the the stat boasts minimal. Then you don't really feel like your wasting your time with "no exp".

3)More missions. It can't be that hard to make more missions. Just give the players something to be occupied. Also make them have their own randomly generated possibilities. That would make the player feel a little less about doing the same thing all the time.

4)They could make so randomly generated dungeon that infinite until you die. Just keep going block after block. People will probably play that often. I definitely would.

5)Add everything in the PSP release. Missions, weapons, etc.

6)A survival mission or sorts. Go in a room and kill until you can't kill no more.

7)If we are meant to get updates, we should recieve them on time. Maybe SOJ should send some of their staff (programmers) to SOA so that we can get things in a more timely manner.

8 )Have more things to do besides kill monsters. Plenty of things you could do with this.

9)Have more "objective" based missions (like the party missions basically).

10)Don't make the exp multpliers too high during events. Like every one is gonna be playing the event and probably a lot more often than a normal mission. Just make the multpliers a little higher the 100%. Just like maybe 2x as much exp at most. Drops I think are fine how they are.

11)Stop reskinning things. Sega, you can do better than that, way better than that if you tried.

12)More items (weapons, armor, etc) in the game.

13)More lobbies to go in (and have missions among other things to do in them).

14)I guess a challenge mode like PSO's would be interesting. It also can't be that difficult to impliment either.

15)Player versus player. Even though if it was unbalanced, it would be something to do. Also it doesn't just have to be kill the other player. Racing, poker, stuff like that can be considered too. I think they got the racing part down though.

16)Combine all the servers. Com'on more people to play with. Hackers aren't a problem either. The game is patched up nicely. Don't be lazy about it. Your gonna lose your PC/PS2 english playerbase. It would help if you combined them with the 360 servers. People wouldn't need to switch from PC/PS2 servers to 360 servers if the PC/PS2 servers had a bigger population.

17)That robot slowdown bug is ridiculous. Memory leak, right? Players have told you the problem and you still haven't fixed it. I think I even remember players even telling you how to fix it. So yeah, can't be that hard. This has been addressed many times. Fix it.

18 )Almost forgot this one. Give the GM's more power. Not only the power to ban. Like to give the ability to make items for example. The GM's could then come up with their own events with a prize. Let them beable to do more. Maybe adjust drop rates in missions if they willed it. Could make a event all by themselves (great if something went wrong with a content update). There's a mission spotlight, with those powers they could make the spotlight a lot more worth everyones while. GMs had WAY more power in PSO. They just had GM commands and such. Give them more power. Also SOJ could listen to SOA's GMs more often. Give them more influence. Also GMs could communicate with their players more (which I see is being somewhat done).

PSU is capible of being a REALLY good game. It is a good game already. Just has to be managed better. Also take your customer's idea's into account. If your customer's want something give it to them. Those are the people you want to please. They are the ones who pay to play your game. If you do that, you will get many more players. It will then be worth your time to manage the game because you'll be making more money. That's the idea Sega, better business tactics.

Well that's all I got. I hope my ideas were decent.

Hmmm....

Well, if you really want to know:

- Update story missions faster. Those are great, but come out too slow.

- Come out with more clothes here and there. Clothes are awesome.

- Do more goofy interesting off the wall online missions and downloadable missions like all the ones from PSO. Those were wonderful.

- MAKE LEVELS WHERE WE CAN USE FLOADERS!!!! We got access to those desert creatures you can ride and floaders like... once. Theres so much content you guys have that for some reason you don't use. Make new levels that are just for people to race around on a floader or a vehicle!

- Bring up some sort of consentual PVP. People love to battle. If they don't want to, they don't have to.

- KEEP US UP TO DATE WITH JP SERVERS. I get sooo tired of seeing the awesome stuff they get pop up, only to realize it'll be damn near a year till we get it.

That's my suggestions for now!

Just a couple of ideas:

- For guns the "photon art button" should be used to change bullets that you have learned.

- Making SUV gauge fill up slower or faster, depending on rank of SUV. so lower ranks fill gauge up quick while the higher ranks would take alot longer.

- The information page on your vision phone at very least should tell you about the update, or if it was just matainance that occured.

- Being able to "outfit" your PM would also be nice ^^

- Option to sign and pick color of a Weapon or armor you synth. (maybe just colors picked on kubara, but being able to sign anything you synth)

Shoulda added, put more money sinks in game. PC/PS2 has A LOT of meseta. It's not really going anywhere. There are plenty of ways they could fix that.

1) The GMs could have their own shops with good items in them (hm..., more GM power). People could just buy from those shops and..., the money will slowly dissapear. This shouldn't really effect players with "normal" money too much.

2) Increase the money limit. Add an extra digit. I think 1 is WAY easier though.

3) NPC shops. Add stuff that's way more worthwhile to buy. Still think 1 is WAY more effective though.

By the way. I think the 360's economy does have a problem. Those grinder S+10s messed up the economy for the 360. Personally I think the 360 has a bigger problem than the PC/PS2 side with the economy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think I'll add some more ideas while I'm at it. They aren't that nessasary. Just would make the game "look" better.

19)The time of day could effect what it looks like ingame. Example, let's say it's nighttime. In game, it could be nighttime. In missions and lobbies. The could have PSU have it's own time. Like on Parum it could be daytime and on moatoob it could be nighttime. It's just a thought. I think that is too much work for Sega to get that to work.

20)Also they could make it rain at certain times and such. Could effect the monster's elements, drops, etc. Or maybe a sandstorm, or snow. Weather changes basically.

Heres an idea i think they REALLY should start using to make rare weapons even more neat.

1) Give S-rank weapons special abilities. Seriously. Make our weapon sets worth more than just their ATP / TP ratings. Give them their own special abilities, so people who favor a single type of weapon the most will have reason to use something other than just the higest grinded weapon, or the one with the highest %.

Halarod = +15% casting speed

Kazarod = +2 targets on all AoE spells

Okarod = Light Technics + 20% more damage/healing, Buffs are increased in efficency

Psycho Wand = Dark Technics + 20% more damage, +2 targets to all AoE spells

Hyper Viper = + 15-20% firing speed

Chainsawd = hitting an enemy doesnt trigger the delay. (in other words, they dont pause for that short second due to making contact with the enemy, instead tearing straight through them making the overall attack faster.

Agito Replica = +20% attack range, + 50% attack speed on Primary Attack

De Ragan Slayer = + 4 Targets on both primary and Photon Arts. Makes large fire-breathing enemies with multiple targets way easier to take down. Like, gee i dunno, dragons?

Svaltus Sword = +50% range, -15% speed. JA's do + 20% more damage though. Applies to Photon Arts too. (look how huge that shit is)

Bil De Axe = primary attack blows target away instead of trips (Potentally Annoying, but at least it gives it a new purpose.)

Neiclaw+ = random incapacitation lv3. (Hell, theres no more silence claw. Dont let such an awesome weapon model go to waste.)

Cubo Tuma = knocks enemies down on occasion

Ragan-Ragan = +4 extra targets like the weapon that "uses the same reactor".

De-Ragun = Shots pierce up to 3 enemies

Melan Knuckle = final combo blows enemies away

Flourscent Bulbs = random sleep lv2

Blackbull = +15% damage on dark bullets

Rattlesnake = Pierces up to 5 enemies

Sange = already absorbs HP.

Yasha = + 30% speed (does not absorb HP)

Sange & Yasha = +30% speed, + Lv 3 HP absorption.

Tiga De Ragan = +4 targets (The original Tiga Ragan hits 2 targets, so +1 sword should equal another 2 targets.)

In all truth there is no reason some guy should match you in killing power with a 10/10 9* weapon, when your walking around with a 3/10 12* weapon. Its just not fair. He may do more raw damage, but you should still have some kind of gimmick to your weapon that makes you more efficient at SOMETHING.
I think a great weapon pallete would be one where when you have lots of S ranks but obtain a new one, your newer Higher-star weapon should still be superior, but your older weapon should still do something special that no other weapon can do.

Edit: To even further make these weapons interesting and mysterious, they need not even mention the special abilities in the description, and instead give small clues and just let the community discover them on their own.

1. More vastness to areas to explore (another planet, galaxy, etc…).
2. NPC Shop with better items. The higher the percent the more the cost. Every element available. Guns and Tech items sell with a few grinds already successful (2/10 or 3/10).
3. Release more content. Sega is holding back so much.
4. Keep the events coming (at least one event a month like 1up or something like it). I have met the most people during events. I also have had the most fun with my friends during events.
5. Take the level cap off and take the creature level cap off.
6. Take care of your devoted PSU customers

One thing that definately needs to be adjusted

Fix the AI on NPC partners!

We don't need the random SUV shot into the wall (Lou, Nav,Curtz, and certain PM's that can use SUVs have this problem) or wasted Nanoblasts where the NPC stands doing nothing unless you move them into a mob of enemies (Laia, Leo, Tonnio, and Tylor)

I agree with this. Though, SEGA has taken a minimal approach to this, like DB Sword+, which causes Freeze I think. PSP had more effects on weapons.

1. Update
2. More clothing/parts. I think male CASTs lack the most in the customization department.
3. Balance races:
- Humans + Newmans = make creas stronger. They should get an extra target with PAs.
- Beast + CAST = give em a bit more TP. Make Nanoblast and SUV USE TP for techer classes.
4. Moar room functions
5. Different types of missions. Escourt missions, timed missions, puzzles, whatever. Surprise us.
6. Although I hate PvP, our community might actually benefit from this.
7. Make some weapons special. More race-only weapons. Would be interesting to see a Newman only Claw. Or CAST only bow. Ooor Beast only whip. I dunno. Yeah Halarod, Gudda Hon, and Killer Elite are pretty cool....but obvious.
8. Advertise?
9. Better music

I would consider coming back if:

1. They make the game next gen. I was at my friends house the other day and she was playing ffxi on her 360 on a huge hdtv - it actually looked good! Make the game pc and 360 and chuck the ps2, im sure this has been discussed many many times before, but Im not paying a monthly fee to see my character look a jaggy sorry mess on my telly.
2. A lot of the improvements that were added with AOI really did enhance th combat...still its amazing how I still feel more immersed in PSO. Improve the enemy AI so I feel immersed. Make enemies more interesting. Make me feel like I have to stay on my toes...even in the low levels.
Its an Action RPG for christsake.
3. Make weapons interesting looking. THe PSP versions weapons are going in the right direction. Make weapons scream originality and uniqueness...even in the low levels. Yeah. Its a dungeon crawler for chrissake =) THis is what motivates me to play - collecting cool shit.
4. Improve the soundtrack. Add weather effects...thats about all I can think of...

Until then, back to PSO. :p

Don't forget not all newmans use techs or even RCSMs. I'd like to see the option to just manually adjust my own stats when I level up like Mass Effect. Maybe I want all ATP and no TP.

oh goody, now its my turn!!

First of all I would like to say a little balance is in order. We'll start with enemies first. number one thing would probably be to give them a lot more hp first of all, and maybe more physical defense (for those creatures who dont have special defenses aka bullet, melee, tech, resistant) also it would do some good to make them a tad bit smarter instead of just randomly spamming spells or walking into bullets and techs without any consideration for their own health (as difficult as that may be it would be a nice way to play and not get bored)
they almost had the right idea with the rappy polecs (getting into an attack formation with snipers in the distance) but they are still easy to kill. thats all I can think of for enemies for now

players/classes
okay i dont know if anyone noticed this or if they have even took this into consideration but i have to ask. Why is it that fighters can who can hit multiple targets, can also acquire 50% elemental weapons with a little effort, gunners once they become gunmaster with lvl 50 bullets get a 50% element also but a techer (who relies soley on element alone to do damage) can never get above 12% elemental damage. A rod that has 4 techs of the same element can only obtain 12% of that element. Why? I mean I personally like magic/techs before playing this game and I thought that sega would fix the problems of pso aka magic users not being an important part of the party. This game is supposed to be community oriented if i am not mistaken. plus another thing is fighters get multipliers along with modifiers for their photon arts, gunners get it with one weapon, G. launcher, and techers get it with none. Now I can somewhat understand this but surely you cant be serious about not giving the gunner or tech user something to somewhat even it out. So first I would like to say that sega should make all techs a 25% element. that way after 4 techs you come up with a 100% rod and a 50% wand element for techers and a 65% or 70% elemental boost to gunners because I am sure that Sega wouldnt give us any real multipliers to help us out so elemental modifiers will have to do. But I do believe that damtechs should have some sort of multiplier, maybe 2 hit blocks at best but no more. akso for techers there should be more of a balance between opposing techs. because I honestly think that its sad that my foie does more damage against de ragan than my barta does and seeing as how barta is only 4 lvls away from being the same lvl as my foie i dont think that it should fall so far behind. So maybe a 10% to 15% difference between an element and its opposite instead of the 50% difference. Also a technic blast of some sort would be a nice touch to the newman race. For anyone that has played 99 nights, i was thinking of something like Tyrrus special but any element you choose to align yourself with. And I figure that this would be along the right path seeing as how as a beast, no matter what beast you chose to be your strength is in your attack, and cast seem to use big guns most of the time. I figure an elemental blast would befit a newman. Each elemental blast would have its own strengths and weakness with dark element being the more powerful element with confusion being its status effect overall and ice being the weakest but having freeze as its status effect. Also someone posted the idea of a human having rage mode, which i think would be a good idea, and seeing as how they are the starting race i figure giving them a 75% overall boost in stats that can be but cant be overridden would be nice at a 30 second time limit. Add this with my first few thoughts on having creatures with a large amount of hp and dfp and we we'll have a game that could be a great orpg. also I would like to say that the game being balance between character and weapon was a better idea that being weapon only, has anyone ever noticed that you take full damage from an attack if you dont have armor on even if that armor was to only give you 100 dfp. Let me rephrase that, your natural dfp doesn't kick in until you add the armor, same goes with evp, it doesnt kick in until you add the armor. also since other magic using creatures and enemy gunners have lock on it would be nice if we got it also. I would love to strafe around an enemy and spam spells to their back side.
I know my changes in balance may seem a little biased but if you are a magic user and you actually sat and looked at the damage that all the other classes put out as compared to yours you'd understand exactly why I want these changes.
in defense between the races there needs to be a change as well, Why is it that as a newman fortetecher a good foie rapes my hp to the point where on a critical hit I am dead but a fortefighter can take a full crit from foie and still be well enough to fight, and yet a fighter can also take several punche from any bil de variation where as the poor newman fortetecher gets owned by one punch from that too. shouldnt magic users be a little tech resistant especially if they have the right kind of armor on, mst means nothing in this game as opposed to hp and dfp, so that needs to be changed also.
Also I did that math on master classes and well.... fortetecher to masterforce there is some adjustment that needs to be made there but i will wait for the classes to be released over here and see them at lvl 20 before I make any actual comments

Game play
There are some major syncing issues going on in psu that need to be fixed. I am not sure about the pc version but i can speak for the Xbox 360 version that syncing is one of the main reasons parties aren't unified when it comes to taking down a mob. Some people suffer from late spawns, or even worst ghost spawns( the spawn of creatures that have already been killed by the party before had but because you arrived late the mob respawns and you cant touch them but they can kill you). many people can be attacking the same creature and don't even know it. Some Pa's also need some adjusting, and we clearly need some new techs also. I am sure that absolute dance users are mildly peeved about the fact that it works best on large 3-4 hit block creatures but that last portion is difficult to actually use because it takes too long. if the wind up was an attack too this wouldnt be an issue but as of now that pa is pretty useless. and as far as techs go Digaz, Rentis, and a more useful light attack spell are in order. seeing as how both melee and techs rape techers in general i think its time we throw digaz and rentis into effect. and the one and only light spell we have does more harm than good. Regrants was a good idea at first and I think that its best suited towards acrotechers and Wartechers, seeing as how if a forte uses it against a large mob of dark creatures they are liable to die in the first rotation of the tech. Its usefulness is minmal at best.
I think we would do good with a planet tour type of mission along with party missions, they almost had the right idea with the winter event but instead of it being random planet, just keep it the same planet with a mode of transportation between different sections of land. for instance, on the map scarred planet and mad creatures are on different sides of the planet, and would be impossible to get to but with the help of the train that is located on the west side of parum (along with a little imagination) that could be a build for a really nice mission that could pretty much take you all the way through the foran waterfall to lightning beast without you actually being in those specific lobbies, granted the missions would be a tad but long, but I think we are due for missions like this, missions that would actually promote cooperation, couple this with a little bit of story telling (tiny cut scenes with npcs involved (kinda like the egg thieves mission)) and who knows where we could go from there. a planet to planet mission would also be nice but that would take a lot longer which means it should be a lot harder which in turn should mean that certain rare drops should be guaranteed. but seeing as how this post is really long right now and i doubt people would be compelled to read this. I'll save that for another day. For those of you who do read this any input on any of my ideas would be nice.

Sorry if these have been brought up before but i was in a bit of a hurry and had the chance to skim the topic but.

1)I agree with the syncing issue, it takes out quite a bit of the co-op aspect of combat. (eg people cant surround an enemy for a 6 way beating, nor can fighters act as shields for tech casters)

2)Include some kind of team system like PsoBB And include a Team chat window, it will make comunication between friends easier when you are in seperate parties (or allow people in missions to talk to none party members)

3) Maybe a silly idea but if they did do teams it would be nice to have a team HQ (like a "my room" or those bases on city of heroes)

4)Maybe have some kind of constant Gbr Type multiplier for Exp/meseta/etc, only on all missions. but using a different formula eg have the thing start at 100% and go down by a certain % each time a mission is played (a set amount per party member) then restore (by a lower amount) when another mission is done. or something like that....anything to stop people doing white beast all the time.

5) more variety in the music. the psu ost has a large amount of tracks...yet only a small amount get used online. Surely any of the other unused tracks are more fitting than having that damn hive music in another mission. The Rykros relics are an interesting looking area...but that music is jaring and kills any atmosphere it has.

6)This is kind of going out the way (quite a bit) but if they made a Next gen (IE 360/ps3/pc) PSU but gave us the option to transfer our characters apearance and see ourselves in shiny new graphics. Maybe even give stat bonuses based on acomplishments on psu.

Biggest improvement for PSU?

Get rid of Segac. :3

But yeah, here's what I'd do:

1 - Combine all the regional/console servers. There is absolutely NO reason why this couldn't have been done in the first place - I don't care about budgets or programming code. Square-Enix managed to do it just fine with FFXI. Online games are about PLAYING WITH OTHER PEOPLE. If you want to play by yourself, go play an OFFLINE game... or Solitaire. >_<

2 - Release all the locked content from the discs already. This ALSO should have been done much earlier. There are still items from the original game, like the Killer Elite, that I have been waiting on for SO LONG, yet one of the PM's can use. WTF. Doing this would give us SO much more things to do, and would keep us occupied for a long time.

3 - Eliminate the synthesis system, and make items drop made, like they did in PSO. Iirc, PSP is using a similar system. Make weapons and armor drop with random elements and %'s between 1%-50%... maybe give armors variable stats too, like they were in PSO. Doing this would also free up a lot of inventory space by getting rid of all those synthesis materials, and would prevent "synth mat droughts" that we seem to get after every event (I'm looking at you, Walnas, Goldania, and Morbinia).

4 - Eliminate the current grinding system, and bring back Monogrinders, Digrinders, and Trigrinders, but make them rare as hell so they're not too broken. Give each weapon a set grind limit, like in PSO.

5 - Make certain Photon Arts and clothing drop from enemies, instead of having to trade in PA Fragments or a ridiculous amount of items (I think PSP is also doing this). Personally, I'd love to be able to use some of Magashi's actual parts on my own character, as well as use some of the crazy twin saber moves he uses in Bladed Legacy.

6 - Remove Scape Dolls, buff items, Sol Atomizers, and Star Atomizers from NPC shops. I feel that these items account for a lot of the game's easiness by being so readily available to players. If you want support, have a techer in the party to heal/buff you.

7 - Improve the AI on PM's and NPC's in the party, and vary them depending on stats, level, and model type. Allow for PM's to be equipped with your own items, just like how you equip yourself for a mission.

8 - Larger levels with more exploration and non-instanced combat in certain areas. Something similar to FFXI or FFXII would be ideal - something to break the monotony of spamming a mission over and over, and give more of a sense of adventure and suspense.

9 - Rebalance classes a bit to make them more specialized. Also, allow them to use C and B rank forms of weapons instead of all S and A ranks - like how Hunter, Ranger, and Force are in offline mode. A lot of decent weapons just don't see the light of day because they are limited to one class (doublesabers come to mind - both classes that use them get access to S rank versions of them, making the lower ranks essentially useless).

10 - Allow for custom classes! Can't get Lv. 50 PA's for one of your favorite weapons because a Master class can't use it? No problem! Allow players to set a LIMITED amount of parameters (which weapons are S rank, PA level caps for each weapon type, stats, etc.) and use the weapons they enjoy most... but don't make it horribly broken. Certain class-specific items, like Storm Line, could not be used as a custom class, for example, or only if your character can use so many S rank guns, or has lv40+ bullet PA cap, etc.

11 - Bring back quests and modes that were popular. PvP, Challenge Mode, Co-op missions, rare item quests, missions with vehicles - anything to make the game more interesting and versatile for players who get bored easily.

12 - Give Humans and Newmans racial abilities. Give Beasts more and better Nanoblast options.

13 - Allow for customizable clothes and equipment, perhaps in a hidden quest.

14 - Bring back old PSO/Phantasy Star weapons that are accurately represented and have cool effects. Why the hell doesn't the Psycho Wand fold up anymore?? If PSO could do it, SURELY PSU can do it as well. Also, why are items like Nei's Claw B rank?? And don't give me that "oh, there's gonna be an S rank version later on" BS - that's just laziness on Segac's part to reskin everything, which brings me to...

15 - Eliminate reskins. Make each enemy, level, and item unique. I'm sure people are tired of fighting the same 2-legged ankle-biting whatevers that seem to appear in every mission.

16 - Adjust the difficulty level to compensate for large party sizes in certain missions. Make certain missions near-impossible to solo unless you have a party with you. This would promote teamwork within the game (as online games SHOULD), and would make it to where bosses like Alterazgoug don't die in 10 seconds. :3

17 - PROVIDE CONTENT UPDATES IN A TIMELY MANNER. RELEASE HOLIDAY LOBBIES WITHIN THE TIME FRAMES OF THE HOLIDAYS. TEST THESE UPDATES PRIOR TO RELEASING THEM TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY WORK PROPERLY.

I know I could go on and on, but this should cover the gist of it.

A business can't survive and profit if it can't support the needs of its customers. GET TO WORK, SEGAC!

GAWD, that was a long post... O_o;

Well Said Tet....well said....however...I enjoy being able to make a weapon my own element, and not have it pre-made....however, needing 15 goldania is aggrevating and pointless and therefore you never get to synth the weapons you want to make!!!!..I would just prefer number of items for synthing be reduced or have those certain items dropped more easily.

To actually implement this feature in the game, they could make photon blast(PB) slot units for humans and newmans, so if you're a newman fighter you would use PB power armlet that you can equip in the arm slot. For either human or newman techers, use PB psychic power amplifier headgear to equip in the head slot.
For human & newman gunners that I didn't mention before, let them use PB arm slot unit that boosts bullet firing rate and/or Lv 5+ SE boost for short period of time. Also limit only 1 PB slot unit equippable at a time in the armor slots.

Well said on that one. I dont see why they couldn't do that. And I mentioned before that it would make people feel less alone and less like the game is starting to crash. And you also used my own quote that I have used for years xD ((The one about MMO's being for group play, not solo play. xD)).

It would also be cool if we could visit the environments OUTSIDE of missions. There is no real world exploration unless you do a misssion. Otherwise you are trapped in a Building or in a courtyard in some city. So it would be cool if you could meet up with friends and such outside of the city. Like meeting by a lake in the evening to just talk and look at the landscape; that kind of thing.

And ADD PVP xD. That would make things REALLY fun xD.

Hell no! Making our own weapon/armor is fun.

Well I dunno about you, but 50 gajillion of the same item board that was ONCE rare, but got spammed out due to an event or FOI/PF, etc., and then not having enough synth materials in circulation because they AREN'T spammed out at the same time is completely stupid imo. Not to mention once you DO take all the time and/or money to get the things needed to make that item, often times it'll just break or come out with a shitty %, and then you have to do the whole damned process over again. That's just a half-ass excuse to give the playerbase "something to do" while the rest of us are still twiddling our thumbs waiting for a content update. I'm sure a lot of people agree with me on this...

13 - Allow for customizable clothes and equipment, perhaps in a hidden quest.

Now THIS would be cool to see. Iirc, there was a PSO quest where you got to make your own name up for an item or something... I was never online with PSO, but I remember a friend of mine who was, and he had a few duped (lol) versions of these items. I'd love to be able to make NOT a Rattlesnake or a Spread Needle, but my very own unique weapon to call my own, with stats configured (to a reasonable extent, of course) to my own specifications, and with my own aesthetic design. Wouldn't you love being able to do something like that - have an item that no one else in the entire game has?

I understand people like making their own items through the synthesis system, although I think the above method would outclass it entirely; but if we're going to stick with the synthesis system, let's get a few things straight:

1 - Segac should stop whoring out valuable rare boards in events. This causes the previously mentioned "synth mat droughts" and makes these items lose their value, while material prices skyrocket. S rank weapons should NOT be selling for the same prices as NPC A rank weapons, and NOT less than the sum of its parts - especially ONE part. Par Walnas at 600K, but Dori's at around 100K?? That's fucked up.

2 - Fix the damned synth rates, especially for armor. I know since AotI we got a much-needed boost towards this, but there's still a lot of things that are fucked up. On a "pure" PM, most A rank boards for the PM's type only have about a 66% success rate or so - less than S ranks, for crying out loud. Shouldn't S ranks be harder to make than A ranks?? Imo, if your PM's synth level is 100, then your items' synth rates should be 100%.

Similarly, items that are NOT of the same type as your PM's should have HORRIBLE rates. I know this is already the case for most items, but take for example Dori boards. In my pure ranged PM, the synthesis rate is still over 50%, and most of em STILL synth properly, instead of turning into Paurals that I desperately need (again, a synth mat drought problem, even though Paurals SHOULD be more difficult to get than some other items). Furthermore, it's retarded to even be failing your own items in the first place just to get the materials to make other ones.

And don't even get me started on armor. I HATED armor synthing so much, even after the AotI boost, that I finally deleted my armor PM out of frustration. Needing 20-30 of a rare material just for ONE armor, and then having it break due to the shitty synth rates is a major pain in the ass. Not to mention, armor materials don't have conversion boards like wood, metal, and catalyst materials do, thus further hindering the process of making armor.

3 - Segac shouldn't release materials that can't currently synth anything, or boards in which there aren't any materials to make it. All these items like Armania, Recnad, Garnad, etc... they're not used for anything right now! They just take up inventory space in your PM... And when the Granahodorac board first came out - how many people had the Paurals AND the Terselines to make them immediately after getting one? I rest my case. I still see these boards all over the player shops, with Paurals going for 10 mil apiece, which is ridiculous. Just from the boards I've recently accumulated (NOT bought, mind you), I currently need about 21 Paurals to make all of them. And selling them off would be rather pointless, because they're not worth much on their own.

4 - Release new items that all classes can use SIMULTANEOUSLY. Melee characters seem to get new weapons all the time. Techers got Okarods spammed out the ass from Neudaiz GBR, and more or less Pushans from MAG. Fortegunners like me are still busting our asses in events to get guns, waiting on a readily-available 12* rifle or shotgun weapon to hunt. >_<

So yeah, enjoy wasting your time looking for those Walnas, Goldania, Relic Edges, or whatever else that hardly ever drops to make that nice S rank weapon you've always wanted. After it breaks or ends up at 10%, you'll wonder why you didn't just buy one in a player shop for cheap, or try trading for one, like I always do. =/

Remove PS2 support; re-tool the entire game around the Xbox 360 architecture, and port that to PC as a Games for Windows Live, and connect the PC and 360 servers (e.g. Shadowrun).

Remove the monthly fee, add in the requirement for an Xbox Live Gold or Windows Live subscription, put unintrusive advertisements in the lobbies to support development costs.

Immediately unlock all on-disc/installed content for use by players, and develop and release actual updates for new, downloadable content (not unlocking new on-disc content).

Rework the combat system to be less dependant on equipping skills and techniques and binding them to weapons - it's far too clunky of a system.

Remove the requirement of having a specific weapon in order to cast techniques, but restrict heavily the techniques you can cast based on your class.

Remove the PA cap and PA level caps, but make PA efficiency based more around class.

Make melee weapon Skills no longer something you spam during combat - instead, make them more along the lines of special attacks that you use 'once in a while,' or when extra brute force or special effects is necessary.

Untie the PP stat from weapons, make it based on race/class combination, but still make Skills and Techniques cost PP to use. Keep an "ammo" stat for guns, but make them cost PP to reload faster (keeping the current recharging over time).

Make the recharging over time effect apply to weapons you don't currently have equipped.

Ditch the "missions" as they are, in favor of just dungeon-crawling. Actual "missions" should be added to Guardians kiosks and emphasize heavy teamwork and resource-management (Challenge Mode style).

Add a Quick Technique List to the quick item/weapon menu.

Allow guns to equip multiple Bullets at once.

Remove the left/right hand restriction on all weapons.

Remove "dual" type weapons, add in Barriers/Shields equippable in one hand. Add a bonus to not wielding a second weapon to make using a Barrier with a one-handed weapon just as viable as wielding two one-handed weapons or a two-handed weapon - just serving a different purpose (for example, dual-wielding could be less powerful per hit and less accurate than using a single one-handed weapon, which would also grant the bonus of additional defense/evasion from a barrier, if equipped).

Better map variance.

Bring back random rare enemies, instead of rare "layouts."

Add in the ability to file a report on another player for disruptive conduct (such as randomly booting people from the game, booting just because they joined, or booting as soon as a rare drops).

Remove or drastically lower the failure chance of crafted weapons.

Rework how percentages work on weapons, in order to reduce rampant elitism. For example, the percentage could only apply to the base attack power of the weapon, before any grinding.

I am coming from FFXI (former PLD job) who often synthesizing weapons/armorl. Getting rare ingredients, % of attributes were meant to not be easy or a matter of luck. Factors like PM play important roles too. My profit comes from A/B grinded weapons using various photons. Complaining about these mean tactics need to be changed. It seems like you are too nostalgic about PSO which means another useless debate. A reminder that PSU != PSO.
