But market shares went all 5 different ways this Fall already with open world games:

Fallout 3 - A dog, Guns and bombs
Fable 2 - A dog too, swords and magic, and real estate
Saints Row 2 - Bullet proof guns and swords and police cops, and rocket bombs, and gangstas
Far Cry 2 - Guns and diamonds and Africa and mosquito bites that bring disease. Shanty sized shack real estate too.

EDIT: also hayabusa, in fallout3 the dog is kinda jsut a little extra of the game, he is not at all part of the game and u can do every quest and side quest and get all achievments and beat the game without teh dog.

which is what i did. i forgot there was a dog lol. its more like Nukes, guns, super muants, and more nukes :)
