(I'm not sure if this qualified as tech support or not...)
I have two qestions after playing tonight...
1.) I ran into a problem where someone couldn't get the Guild Card I sent. I could get his, and he could get others', but he couldn't get mine. I tried many times, but no go. I finally just said I'd try send it some other day, since I got his card OK. Is this some weird problem or what?
2.) My wavebird wireless GC controller has occasional spots where it fails to read button presses, or analog stick input. They seem to come in short bursts. I thought it was the batteries, but I put new ones in and it happened again. Could this be caused by interference? I have a cordless phone, but wasn't using it. My cell phone was turned off. People in other rooms could have wireless stuff, for all I know. Is this problem common, or does my wavebird have a problem? (It came free w/ a Best Buy deal, came packed in a GC carrying case.)

1.) They fixed that.
2.) My wavebird gliches out sometimes too. But only for PSO. SO i can't help you with that.

In the manual for PSO it says that you shouldn't use a wavebird controller when playing PSO ep.1&2.
I guess the wavebird just doesn't work well on online games.

1.) They fixed that. When did they fix it? It happened to me today. (I'm like lvl 20, the other guy was lvl 50+)
2.) My wavebird gliches out sometimes too. But only for PSO. SO i can't help you with that.Only with PSO? Odd... It's happened to me in other games too, though less often.
I got PSO on Saturday. I was playing offline, and had it happen a few times. Then the batteries went dead. I replaced them (though I don't know if they were new or not). Still happened occasionally. I put in new batteries today, and it still happens occasionally. So I guess the batteries don't really affect it (other than it going absolutely dead).

It does? That's weird. I guess I should actually look at the manual...

In the instruction book it says "do not play pso with a waveburd wireless controller. When playing online other people could see you user name and password". So that's why.

Hmm. I'd read that when signing up for the Hunter's License, though I didn't think about it when playing the game. I didn't think it would matter... Darn these short controller cables.

yes thats why they warn you not to enter sensitize info cuz anything that operates on 2.4gHz could catch it. I havent had a problem with PSO and the wave bird and i have a wireless accesspoint 4 feet from the cube, cell phone (1900 mhz i think) 2 900 mhz cordless phones and a 900 mhz keyboard and mouse and no interference. Well i can say that i LOVe the wavebird. on a side note rather than running on the standard channel 1 i run on 16. maybe you should try changing channels

The problem with the wavebird is just standard interference. It goes buggy on me for a few seconds every now and then. You could switch channels and easily fix it, but it's usually just easier to wait the ten seconds for it to fix its self. The only way someone could get your credit card info, etc., when you're using the wavebird is if someone had a gamecube, pso, and a wavebird within 30 feet or so, and had their copy of pso sitting on the exact same screen as yours. As far as I know, the wavebird doesn't send out any sort of number signals, all it sends out is the signal telling the game where to move the onscreen cursor. Now, a wireless keyboard would be a little different... I imagine the real reason they warn you not to play with the wavebird is in case you start getting interference or the batteries go dead and you're stuck in the middle of some room, unable to pause it or the like.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.
I'll probably try a different channel, and see if that helps.
I really do like the wavebird. I can bring the controller all the way to the opposite end of the house (when I'm at home), and it works fine. Not that I could play from that distance anyway.
