I think Clinton was a great president, so I'm not complaining that Obama is tagging a bunch of people from his administration for his own cabinet. Although, I would agree that it would be nice for him to get some new faces and even republicans in as well. This is his administration, and I want to be assured that he's committed to changing the partisan politics in this country. I don't think restoring old members is a great move in that respect.

We need another Thomas Jefferson.

The closest thing we've had to another Lincoln is W. He isn't even close, but there are many similarities.

1. VERY unpopular war.
2. VERY unpopular President.
3. Limited some civil rights for "national security".
4. Spoke of freeing people and made it to be a large part of policy(despite actual intentions)
5. Opponents said both were in pockets of Big Business
6. Both goofy looking.
7. Public saw both as fools.

Now, these are just generalizations so don't take them as much.

Obama is reminiscent of JFK no?

W tried to emulate Lincoln but failed, he does not have that much wit, during some thing like a Civil war.

Understanding the situation of the two is really what sets them apart, one is a fool the other is a statesman, he put the state above all others.
Did W do that? Hell no.

Lincoln was a Machiavellian figure.
What I am getting at is at this juncture we need a statesman more than a politician.

We also need Jack Bauer. He would totally crotchpunch the economic crisis.

...What the FUCK?

Zaphod has two heads! And three arms! And far worse fashion sense even than that!

Sod that for a lark, I'll stick with the radio programme.

It would seem that I have done a good thing in staying far away from the movie. >_>

Off Topic revised rules don't just apply to game threads.

An OP needs to discuss in enough length the opening post to make a topic.

Humma cut off one of his heads, and his third arm is hidden under that ruffly thing.

I liked the movie, although the book was much better.

The got around the second head thing by having him like... roll back his head to reveal another one just below it? It was something like that.

Yeah, they also turned the movie into a love story about Arthur and Trillian, which is like... wha?

That being said, I probably enjoyed it about as much as I enjoyed Mostly Harmless, so...

Bay of pigs was just one part.
Both sides shown restraint at the end. Both leaders handled it well.
Some thing today's government would fail it.
