Look like this game is more "logical" than the old PSO.
1.- Women always have more MST, ATA, EVP than men.
2.- Men have more POW, DEF and HP
3.- Cast have more ATA than Humans (of the same profession, that is) again

TOPS
HP: HUcast
TP: FOnewearl(?)
ATP: HUcast
DFP: RAcast(?)
MST: FOnewearl
ATA: Racaseal
EVP: HUnewearl

More ATA then men? Sweet! I'll get more hits in while they're still raising their swords! :D

All the character descriptions:

HUmar: Possesses a balanced growth rate, specialist in melee-type weapons. Able to use techniques, a character with great overall balance.
HUmarl: Lower ATP than the HUmar, compensated with more ATA/EVP. Able to use techniques, an all-purpose character.
Hunewm: Low HP/DFP, but his excellent EVP/MST make him an expert on close/long range combat.
HUnewearl: Possesses the highest EVP, and is able to handle both close combat and techniques equally.
HUcast: An expert at close range combat, possesses the highest ATP/HP, but he is unable to use techniques.
HUcaseal: Top class ATP/DFP, possesses every ability necessary for close range combat. Can't use techniques.

RAmar: Mainly uses gun-type weapons, has high ATA that helps him not to miss. Able to handle some techniques.
RAmarl: Her specialty are gun-type weapons. Top class ATA, she's able to use some techniques.
RAcast: ATP/DFP grow at a balanced rate, top class ATA, Unable to use techniques.
RAcaseal: Possesses the highest ATA, Unable to use techniques.

FOmar: High MST, he's able to use every technique. It's possible to use him for close range combat at higher levels.
FOmarl: Not suited for close range combat, top class MST, able to use every technique.
FOnewm: Low DFP, top class MST, able to use every technique.
FOnewearl: The highest MST of any class make her a technique expert, her low DFP makes her not suitable for close range combat.

Hmm, so non-forces can use techs, but they need to have a weapon equipped that allows for it? Interesting, this supports the idea then that we could have weapons that arent wands and staffs with tech-link capabilities.

Thats what that means to me at least, their is of course another possibility though.

Perhaps this time around, their are no weapon restrictions. My reasoning behind it? We've already seen a video of a HUmar using a launcher weapon (unprecedented mind you, in neither PSO or PSU can hunter classes use launchers) and the only "tech-linkable" weapons that we can confirm are staff's and wands. Maybe slicers (they are after all "force weapons" now).

Who knows, just throwing this stuff out there.

The Inferno Bazooka (http://www.pso-world.com/items.php?op=viewarticle&artid=108) disagrees.

Though you do bring up a good point - we haven't seen anything about weapon types being restricted by class, we've just seen the class and weapon pairings shown to us via press releases, which does include things such as Hunters using Wands and Launchers - things that clearly don't fit inot the whole "I'm a Melee Guy" sort of thing - and the "weapon classification" chart that just lumps weapon types into categories based on how they work.

...It'd be a bit weird to see a FOnewearl running around with a Sword or Spear, though.

I like the sound of that. I hope HUcaseals still have the most ATA out of all the Hunters, that would just be sweet.

Incidently, you are right. PS Zero seems to be alot more logical than PSO ever was. I never understood why HUnewearls had more DEF than HUmars especially since Newmans weren't well known for the Physical strength or Endurance.

Edit

I just re-read the opening post and Casts apparently do have more ATA than thier fleshy counter parts. Still, I won't be 100% staisfied unless HUcaseals have more ATA than HUcasts.

I guess it wouldn't be FOnewm if it didn't have absolutely ridiculous outfits. =P

The HUnewm looks a little...lamer than I thought he would, but overall, I do like the designs. ^_^ I am pretty excited for this game. =D

I just hope the stats aren't too different between genders, or if they are, they're different enough to actually change something.

If traps are gone, I will terribly miss them. (Ice and Confusion) They were perfect for crowd control in PSO. Also made soloing that much easier.

I hope it's not on a purchace basis, like in PSU. And no one ever mentioned if Casts regain their Auto-repair ability, did they? If I can't use Resta, I had better get heal traps or Regen!

If I remember correctly, there was some article that stated that traps are still in, and there even are "healing traps." Don't know if this is true though...

Traps were confirmed through a Famitsu Scan, the're also on the PS0 page, on the action palette you can see Heat, Ice and Light traps (perhaps fire, ice & lightning damage?).

Very nice pictures. It's also nice to know that males finally rock in appearance, in this one. It's also interesting seeing the male cast models differ between hunter and ranger. It makes much more sense to see them as a more lithe and flexible form when they need to move like a hunter instead of looking like a Gundam trying in vain to be Jet Li.

I wonder if there are clothing stores in this like PSU, or once you design your character, you're stuck 'till you get 10,000 Meseta?

I just copied and pasted this post from another thread. So yeah it look like there will be some sort of changing room that will let you modify your character whenever you want to. But what that entails, who knows.

--Did anyone check out the game flow battle system pages? http://phantasystar.sega.jp/pszero/#/system/gameflow

-Shougai PSO has a nice run down of the update. I translated the page and I found this tidbit.
TEP-02 -> Mode selection
01: 'Story mode' of solo play selective possibility
02: 'Wireless communication' of multiple play selective possibility
03: 'Wi-Fi' of multiple play selective possibility
04: 'Dressing room' selective possibility
a: Regarding to the past series, 'the costume' and so on modification possibility

I had a feeling that's what you meant. It's hard to tell, seeing as how you older model RAcasts aren't as efficient as us HUcasts... :D

And, thanks Risingsun for clearing that up.

"Those HUnewm look very… ladylike."

I think they look fine. Nothing many guys in a wetsuit wouldn't look like.

Besides, if you think they look ladylike, try playing a male Selkie in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles like I did, and you'll see HUnewm looking a lot more male than you think.

You're probably right. It's just that the first time I saw Reve (HUnewm NPC) in the first low rez teaser, I thought he was a woman. HUnewm show man-cleavage. (I think I might put that last bit in my sig :D)

I have to agree with you on that one.

Nice.

Thanks Percival. It's nice to know that not all of the RAmar clothing options have the cowboy look. I'm really digging the RAmarl and HUnewearl clothing options. As for the HUcaseal class, no surprises there although I really hope there are some more head options, I'm not that keen on what I saw on display.

Traps are in for Cast´s? YEY! :D

I was never that big on traps in PSO ( never used them, at least untill I got to the final difficulty level where freeze and confusion traps became a defenite must for all Casts ) but it is nice to know that we do get somthing in return for not being able to cast magic.

Why are the FOmarls, FOnewearls, and RAcaseals pigeon-toed? Why can't they look like they don't have polio? Some of these characters are just downright underage for slaughtering monsters...(see: HUmars)

Actually, the first HUmar kind of looks like a young Full Metal Alchemist. The second one, kind of looks like Sora, but with red hair. Of course, we don't expect to play this game and hear Goofy constantly shouting, "Heyalp!" and "Come On!" all the time. :)
