No, no the poster here "DB", I mean is there an NPC or something with the initials DB?

I have one idea. Donoph from the Retired Hunter quest. What's his last name? If it starts with a B, then I think we might of found DB.

This is just an idea, and I know that if he is DB, then why isn't he using DB's shield and sword? Or armor for that reason. What do you think?

As the flowens sword and "heathcliff" on the red weapons mystery was solved, i think that DB is a character to be revealed in a later game. Either that or it just sounds kewl. Things dont HAVE to have a history. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I've heard that if you beat the quest in 15 minutes, you can go into the forest and talk to Alicia Baz, the Force from Forest of Sorrow. She's Donoph's adopted daughter, which would make Donoph "D.onoph B.az," or DB. DB's Saber. Tada!

Still doesn't explain why he isn't using DB armaments, but then again, Flowen isn't holding the Flowen's Sword when you kill Olga with Red Weps, is he?

Well, I'm going to try to beat that quest quick then. Hmm, a level 125 character in normal mode...

Hey! That's what I was thinking! (Though sadly I don't have a 125 level character...yet.) I want to see that...

As for why he isn't using the DB equipment, here's a couple thoughts. I'm not acquainted with the story of why there are all these copies of DB gear around anyway, but could it be possible that he lost it during a quest or sold it to a manufacturer for duplication? Another is that he preferred the gear he's using in the Retired Hunter quest - who wants to use old crap just because it has your name on it when you can use better equipment you found on your journeys?

Just some thoughts.

Another thought was that he was a military soldier. When his superiors saw the power of his saber, sword, etc., they asked DB if they could duplicate it for wide military use. I bet the hand-crafted the DB Swords so that the higher-ranking soldiers had a better weapon.

I still maintain that he is a mischievous leprechaun dropping crappy and not-so-crappy sabers around, waiting for someone to accidently sell a DB saber identified 60%, and then laugh at him.

o.O;; Damn, am I drunk?!

Well, that link kills any idea of Donoph's last name being Baz. After you read that, You'll see that it was Flowen who adopted her. Still, he could be DB. Back on DC, there wasn't much info on who Flowen was. Maybe the real DB will show up in an online quest.

C'mon people! Be serious. DB wasn't a person lol! I'm sure it was a corporation. Else how could they make so many replicas of their weapon>

So I guess talking down to people makes you feel better.

We don't know who or what DB is. Flowen's sword is the same as DB's saber. Using that logic, Flowen could be the name of the corporation, but we know now that Flowen is a person. A corporation could of replicated DB's saber just like they did with Flowens.

i dont think DB is really a person. the description for DBs saber is something like
"a replica of a sword once used by the military" i havnt found the real thing yet, just replicas but i think that DB is either a military standard issue, codename, or perhaps even a production company. it doesnt have to be the initials of a person.

DB was probably a name for a Coralean military corperation.

It could be, but there's just as much chance of them being named after a man, like Flowen's swords.

Ah the lovely world of plot holes! This is why I like PSO, it gives you a sparse plot with enough stuff to question, and we come up with stuff like this. The corporation idea is great, btw!

Why thank you.

DB... either a man or a name for something else...

Reasons for it to be a human/newman/android:
Flowen's Sword was named after Sir Heathcliff Flowen.

Reasons for it to be a corporation:
DB has not yet been discovered to be a man, and it does day that on the DB weapons that it was a common military replica.

After i read an interview in a magazine with Yuji Naka (he was being interviewed, i wasnt reading it with him) i always thought Db was a cheesy reference to him liking Dragon Ball. Got thecheesy DBZ style hair in the game, so why not.

Otherwise i cant think of any explantions for who DB is or was. Maybe it was actually a woman (everyone keeps say 'he' )

Oh God I hope not! DBZ isn't that bad, but Dragon Ball was just plain evil. Scary too. The blend of cute and harmless antics and sub-porn innuendo caused me to have and interesting conversation with my little sister when she was watching it.
