Re: bon appétit

Curiosity got the best of me from so many people mentioning this in Google's translation, so I looked into it and realized where it's coming from. Google is trying to translate the verb itadakimasu by itself instead of as a polite verb ending to the real verb of the sentence. By itself, itadakimasu is an expression said before eating a meal, but when attached to a verb, it makes said verb more polite.

It's been mission spotlight after fucking mission spotlight, now we've got a fairly lame ass time attack event instead of new content or taking care of actual game issues still pending....great going guys

This (http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/?mode=view&id=782) thing (http://xbox360.phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/?mode=view&id=228)? Just behind-the-scenes data center system maintenance. It's already over and done with, though.

Cool, thanks! But I won't be able to make it before the servers go down. D: I only decided to make the jump today while I was at work, so I wasn't able to start the game download (only ver.1 for now, I'll get AOTI when it becomes available on December 11) until I got home about an hour ago. Right now it looks like I've got about four to five hours before all of the files are done, but maintenance will begin in about two hours. I still need to finish setting up my account, anyway, but I should be on at some point tomorrow.

EspioKaos
Nov 26, 2008, 09:00 PM
I'd always flirted with the idea of moving, but I hated the idea of having to start from scratch. However, with all PA EXP payout being increased for the next three weeks, I figured that would be perfect since it would take a bit of the edge off of the more time-intensive tasks of the game. Even though I won't have AOTI until it's available for download in December, I'll still be able to take advantage of the bonus since it (to my surprise) carries over to ver.1 missions. Besides, my local subscription expires next month, so if there's nothing new on this side, I won't be missing much. I don't plan on completely abandoning the English version, of course. Since we're so far behind Japan, that would mean I'd miss out on three events, which I'd prefer not to do. So, you can expect me to show back up whenever those begin.

Its sad that week after week we US/EU PSU players wait anxiously for updates week after week to find nothing is going to happen. I mean what is the point of paying 10 dollars a month just for bs....

Wait, wait...they're putting AOTIjp version up for download as well?

Man, if we only had that kind of easy access system, there might still be a good chunk of players on na/eu pc/ps2. Yes, there are alternate means...but some people like the thought of legally downloading something without a chance of receiving a HD corrupting virus as a bonus.

hey I got a question

right now my PSU account is suspended bc I got a 20 dollar ballance

now if I pay just 10 bucks, will it be activated again? or will I have to pay the balance plus 10 dollars? (30 bucks)

so as along as the balance isn't 19.99 it will be activated?

Since we're so far behind Japan, that would mean I'd miss out on three events, which I'd prefer not to do. So, you can expect me to show back up whenever those begin.

So i guess we`ll see you back around here in about two years. If you get you`re character going, honestly i doubt you`ll be back. There are pretty much three events in between the time we get one, and Sega has even started recycling, so you`ll probably see them sometime in the future. There`s not much reason to be grinding your NA character as you won`t be using it.

I wonder if it would be possible to for ST to transfer character data or simply merge the freaking servers. Even with boosted pa exp, i`m not a fan of levelign alot of skills up to 31+. So far I`ve been sticking to the NA servers for the group i run with. But if no one`s on, i guess there`s no point. I still enjoy the game and if JP actually get`s updates....

I`ve been considdering getting my PS fix with zero this winter and switching to another MMO. With sega it looks like the GM`s on our side are doing as much as they can to keep the game going. The events suck; granted, but I`m sure they have limited resources. Where`s the ball fallign through with our content?

Cracka_J

The events suck; granted, but I`m sure they have limited resources. Where`s the ball fallign through with our content?

Now don't go taking this as anti-360 post, I have one, love it, and play it on a near daily basis. But the fact is with pc/ps2 jp there is no online content verification/certification process. They don't have to submit anything to anyone to update the game. They just do it as they please.

With NA/EU, Sega wants to keep pc/ps2 and 360 on equal update ground, meaning even if they could just go and update pc/ps2 (which they should just do anyway considering our population >.>), they'd still have to wait for microsoft verification. If microsoft denies verification, they have to start the whole submittal process all over again, which from what I've heard, is nearly a 2-3 week backorder on microsofts end.

That, to me, explains when things get caught with early with bugs, they seem to be delayed indefinitely. The whole submittal/verification process has to start all over, and since they want to keep things even, both 360 and pc/ps2 get the shaft. It sucks, and I don't particularly understand the reason for the thinking since we are on SEPERATE SERVERS. If the worst thing that happens is some 360 people defect to pc/ps2, I don't really see that as a bad thing. We have like maybe 50 people that still play the game consistently, lol.

Sinue_v2
Nov 29, 2008, 09:38 AM
I don't think Microsoft Verification holds things up THAT long, and even so - this is nothing that couldn't be worked around with a little bit of foresight and planning.

Besides, doesn't Microsoft Verification only apply to the updates that Microsoft themselves host on XBL (you know, how it disconnects you from XBL and updates a game). I'm not sure, but don't patches that are applied server-side only really have to meet Sega QA standards? I mean, surely if PSU has to do this, then wouldn't FFXI and other (are there any?) crossplatform games also have to deal with it, and do they?

He's got a point there, also, this was pretty much a non-issue for a whole year. In addition, if it's simply some bugs that need ironing out, wouldn't the JP version have those same bugs, which brings it back to the developer.

i highly doubt we´ll get anything til late january.
Best case scenario: they keep an eye on jp event (MAG + ), then holidays for everyone, then in january they go back to work, and obviously work on something new to jp servers. Maybe, if we are lucky enough, they´ll find some time to care about US servers by the end of january.
And since SOA apparently doesn´t care enough either, we are stuck with the 'gurhal great cup', and mission spotlights (it´s important to say that they couldnt´keep even THAT on a weekly basis).
