I just got online for the first time last night on my little 33 RAmarl, and logged into Antares 5 (thought that's where you guys were, but turns out it was 8!).

Anyways, one person is standing in the lobby.. Using my clunky software keyboard, I manage to type "my first time online!". Immediately, a little RAmarl named Ichido says "Welcome"... So I automatically knew she had a keyboard.

I went on to ask a few questions, express how difficult it must be to put up with my software keyboardingness... Ichido was VERY patient, answered questions, gave good advice, told me how to create games.

Ichido is level 163 I believe, so I was surprised that she offered to play a game with me. I started a game on Hard Ruins..

Before we even went in, she gave me a Justy rifle, far better than anything I'd found offline. I'd actually never found a rare item besides P-Drops.

We cleared the entire mines, killed Dark Falz, and she allowed me to pick up every single piece of loot that dropped, except one Trigrinder http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif. She resurrected me at least 7 times during Falz, but luckily I didnt die on the way there. She made sure I got EXP on every item. We found two rare items, which she let me keep... a Varista, and another Rifle..

She answered questions, put up with my software keyboarding, helped me out, I got several ten thousands of Meseta, new items, and got me 3 levels!

All I had in return to give was some Mats, which she returned most of to me, and 3 tri grinders. I was glad to have something to give back.

Anyways, I'd just like to thank her again for making my first online experience great, and for helping me out with the leveling.

*salute!*

Sounds like a really fun first time online experience and congrats that someone like that person was willing to help/play. I don't remember mine, but I know I was enthralled, still am...Just need a keyboard now =

My first online time with the DC was rather unpleasant. People made fun of me for not knowing how to send my card, and treated me like I was dumb. After that though, I met up with someone who we went through forest-ruins, had a great time and I found a Soul Banish. ^_^

Antares 5 is where a group of us started playing many months ago. Before that, we noticed, it was almost always utterly empty. For a nice long while (several months) it was just us, about 20-30 loosely connected players who agree on just a couple of things: play with teamwork, NEVER pick up red items until everyone has seen them and discussed, finish the fights first and get the items second, and never use/make/trade duped items. With those basic "rules" (more like: an understanding, between us) we had a golden age in Antares 5 from early November until late December. Then, others started to catch wind of our little Utopia. Now, we have to play in locked games, or elsewhere, to recreate the experience. But back then we played in unlocked games with descriptive team titles (For-Ruins Redria, HS skyly, IceSpin RedSwd, etc.) and people (for the most part) were chill and fun to play with.

We have an ongoing string of topics at GF called the "Antares Chronicles." It is over 6,000 posts long now in total! Anyway, glad to hear you had a good time your first time online!!!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Especially since you had it in a lobby I once called ""home" on PSO (until it got overrun by people from other boards, not this one, who are sometimes quite rude).

You reminded me of my first time online with PSO, back in v1. I met a Japanese player (with decent English skills) named A''. At that time I was lv10 and A'' was lv65 or so. A'' took me through caves (inc. De Rol Le) and mines (inc. Vol Opt). It was so fun! I was so impressed a high level character (at least, back then, I thought Lv66 was high; hehe) would take the time to help me and teach me the basics. Moments like that, and like yours, are part of what makes PSO so amazing.

Cheers.

I do appreciate the praise. You made my otherwise lousy day.. I was kinda upset a bit ago over losing my Mind Arms to an FSOD while warping to Falz with some friends.. (Yes, I know.. they're not rare, but it was my fav weapon for multiplay). I am looking for another with at least 35% hit. But I will get one eventually. Thanks again. And hopefully we'll run into eachother again sometime.

My first time online was horrible also...when i got on i was only about lvl 25 or 26 and i went in to a game and every one called me a noob cuz they had 4 god pows and j swords (what at the time ive never seen a rare) with 195 pow mags. So really i geuss i was a noob cuz i didnt use/own duped items. But the sad part of that is they where lvl 10-20.

I met this one friend named Redfield... he was a RAmarl (yes a he. Ramarls look cool... lol they look like tomboys) and he taught me how to make a team.

We were good friends and we were around the same level because he leveled up really fast.

He gave me a Del Sheild from his 113 chara, which without I wouldn't be where I am right now.

I don't know where he is now... either he ran out of HL time or the Guild Card Glitch affected us...

But he was cool. As soon as we entered a room, you'd see all the enemies frozen. I just walk up to them, courtesy of the Snow Queen, hit them, and kill them.

We were cool with each other.

my first time online with DC version 1 wasnt very good. i went into a game and asked which tp to take and they of course tell me the wrong one and i didnt realize it til i got to the end of the level. and then we all went to forest and i was PKed the second i got there (which scared the hell outta me) and i lost my dragon slayer (not rare but it was the strongest thing i could find offline) so i was kinda pissed
