That still sounds wierd since normally maintenance starts at 2AM EST which would be 11PM over in california it said 16:00-9:00PM which is 4-9PM

Thats what made me think it was somethign different

Unless......4-9PM is referin to the time it would be in Japan......maybe......*checks world clock*

They could just say 「メンテナンスが行われない」　"maintenance will not occur," but they always word it strangely by saying "taking a break from regular maintenance." Of course, them listing the times when maintenance would have occurred doesn't help.
