I haven't played PSO past version 2 yet, and so I have a couple of questions about two of the new character classes.
For the FOmar, in the description it says something about him having a unique "quickness" in combat. This combined with some of the things I've seen people say in this forum have made me wonder: Does the FOmar cast spells more quickly than the other forces?
For the HUcaseal, it's kinda the same thing. Does she have quicker attack animations than normal?
Thanks. ^_^

Well, HUCaseal is the only character in the game who can effectively use daggers, because of her animation.
Don't know about FOmars...

HUcaseals have some really good combos with a lot of weapons. But as far as I know... FOmars have no distinct advantages over any other FOrces ((Or any other character, for that matter...)) In terms of casting or attacking animations. ST isn't exactly known for making sense, y'know?

Well that isn't really true, because I used a pair of good daggers quite effectively with my old HUnewearl. Though that does answer the question about HUcaseals... they have different combo animations. Thanks! ^_^
But is there anyone experienced using FOmar's who can answer whether or not FOmar has quicker spell-casting?
edit
The reason I ask about the FOmar is because of something somebody said on another thread regarding which characters are good to chose, namely this:For FOs: FOnewearl for Most MST and basic technique damage as well as the most "powerful" megid and an extended range resta, the FOmar for quick casting techniques and powerful GI techs and an extended shifta/deband range plus a slight boost on Grants, a FOmarl for best supporting techniques and best ATA/most HP and Grants, the FOnewman with powerful GI and RA techs. So when that person said "quick casting techniques", does that mean the FOmar casts more quickly, does it mean something else, or is that just totally wrong?

I don't believe FOmars have a faster casting animation. Now, if you have no weapon equipped, or have a fist-type weapon equipped, you'll cast faster... But that goes for EVERYONE, even non-FOrces. FOmars do, however, get a damage/range boost to Gi-level spells and Shifta/Deband.

for regular gameplay i dont really care for either the hucaseal or the fomar. i think hunewearl is the best hunter im my opinion. i only use hucaseal for cmode, and fomar is one of those attack/tech forces. his mst isnt really high neither is his atp. if you want to be a mass magic attacking force go for one of the newmans

That is only for male characters. FOmar and FOnewm are the fastest spell casting forces if they don't have a weapon equiped. FOnewearl casts very slow without a weapon, but speeds up a lot with any weapon

Erm... thanks, BUT I was not asking for advice on what character to choose. I'm a veteran of the Dreamcast PSO's, not a noob. I'm perfectly familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the characters (besides the new ones... but that's why I made this thread in the first place). Any character can be good and useful as long as the person controlling him/her is good. I've already decided I'm going to have a FOmar (assuming I decide to shell out the money for PSOX). And I'll either have a HUnewearl or a HUcaseal for my other character. I'm only looking for someone to answer my question regarding the FOmar.

I haven't used a FOmar very much yet, but from what I can tell so far he isn't faster at using any weapon. If you check the Guides it says he has the highest ATP of the forces. A friend of mine has a FOmar at LV80 or so and he doesn't look much faster, but at least his attacks do more than 0 damage in comparison to my FOnewearl. He does seem to have a little more range in spell casting when compared to my HUmar, but I think that's because his spells are about LV25.

in terms of attack fomars have significanty higher attack speed with sabers and double sabers than alot of characters. and casting...i dont know about other forces but in terms of casting spells (IE fomar vs hunewearl or fomarl_ he casts alot faster, cuz they have slow cast speeds from what IVE noticed.

true, but as you see the faster they attack/cast the weaker they are example= FOnewearl vs. FOmar
Also if you are too be a Force be a Newman.
If you are to be a Hunter be a Hucaseal or HUnewearl
Why? you ask well GIRL POWER lol... no o.o the reason is they are fast yet strong =)

Yes, FOmar does have a faster casting speed. Especially with the GI spells. One can cast Gizonde over and over in a Del-D's face and not receive a scratch in the process...Very Fast technique casting with that spell, someone said FOnewman was fast as well? Does he cast Gi spells just as fast?

Yeah I noticed that my FOmar could fire out gizonde pretty fast..even at lower levels, I'm not sure if it's much faster than other classes, I'll check sometime and post of it is

just as a side note, concerning animations. i've noticed that a HUcaseal with G-Assassins Sabers equipped moves a hell of a lot faster that with other weapons. her whole running/stalking animation changes and speeds up.
i haven't checked it with other classes yet, or other types of twin swords, so i'm not sure if it's an effect of the weapons, or just the HUcaseal. anyone know?
it's a much cooler run animation. especially given the normal run for a HUcaseal.

I have a FOmar, and I've also noticed that Gizonde is cast very fast. As for the weapon attack speed, I don't know if it was the FOmar himself or the Elysion, but when he's equipped with it, his attack speed is very fast, especially the special fireball technique that shoots out of the sword. It's kind of scary.
