From what I have read the DSi doesn't have that problem with WPA but the games still do. All the games that have WiFi aspects seem to have trouble with the WPA from wireless routers. The connector has been discontinued but you can still find it up for sale at places like Amazon and ebay... from what I've been reading the connector should circumvent the problems people have with WPA and their DS.

You may need to make sure your router is broadcasting in the B band, and not just in G. I had problems with my wireless connection with my DS when it was set to just G on my router. Changing your router settings should be easy enough to change to both G and B.
