I would of put this in my other thread but i'd do it in a new one to make it neater.

All of this is a mixture of my own knoweledge and information from the wiki, i'd upload pics of mags later, but please submit your own images and info aswell.

5 Diferent image slots for each colour avaliable.

Also feel free to make a proper mag feeding chart, Don't expect one from me.. ever x3

Mags can be found in the wild allready leveled

I'm only going to image tag, images uploaded by users here and images that are small.

A General Rule, Striking weapons allways raise attack, Ranged weapons allways raise hit, Tech Weapons allways raise Mind and armor and units allways raise defence.

Traps to my knowelage, allways lower stats (Atleast in higher level mags).

Higher ranking items raise stats more than lower ranking weapons.

Tech disks, raise tech a lot at low level and raise both power and tech at higher levels. (from my few minuits of half asleep checking)

Mate type items raise power and defence

Fluid type items raise power and mind

Atomizer and material's raise hit and mind

Grinders raise all stats

Here a little information as I have a Pashifaru Blast PB.

I used it and I disappeared and a large blue bird appeared and flew around a certain full circle radius around where I was standing. After that, a large amount of damage was done within that full area. I can't tell how much, but it was enough to kill whatever was there at the time (and all the enemies were not that far away). After that, my character appeared again, and things continued. I would guess it's an area damage PB that operates within a large radius (not a particular direction, but may have limits on the area affected. I have to use it more to see what radius limitation it may have).

Wow, someone else realized what Toppi is. He's from Sega's DS RPG "World Destruction", for those of you who may not know. Is that out in the US? Dunno if it's any good. Sorry for getting a bit off subject.

What's Lassi from?

Well Shifta does boost ATP and MST now, and boosted MST = better Resta.

Does your character class matter in MAGs? For example if I have a FOnewearl and I make a MAG with 1 POW and 99 Mind will I get a Sato?

So there are no mag evolutions for raising two stats the same. For example, what if I hit LV 60 with 30 power and 30 defense?

Will it just give me whichever has the slightly higher bar? (I presume it is almost impossible to get the bars the same).

PS, to get the images to work, I had to go to the HTML then VIEW IMAGE, then change the URL to the correct image number.jpg. Weird!

Thanks

nope. you must have a stat dominate over another to evolve it

Can someone explain what the different Photon Blasts do, and explain what they look like? I can explain one:

Photon Blast: Guraniru

Red (could be in other colors, I'm not certain) "Guraniru" shoots forward (possibly further than a Rifle's shot) piercing any enemies in its path.

:)

xSHiNOx
Jan 5, 2009, 09:10 PM
pashifaru - some black bird flies around the field and casts lightning stunning enemies and doing damage

midogaru - yellow thing flies and casts shifta on you and jellen on enemies

jill flow - twins bumping each other = infinite pp for a limited time

btw, the guraniru is always red.

to chain pb's the person who's pb is going to be used goes first, holding down L+R while the rest of the party use their pb's inside the circle around the player, then you can release L+R and use the pb chain.

seems hardly anyone knows how to do the chain x3

max mag level is 100

you can evolve a mag with a item at anytime after if meats the reqs. e.g. you can evolve it even if its allready lvl 100.

I was playing earlier and me and another person both had a PB, as soon as dragon boss started I held L+R, then he did it standing right next to me but his circle just appeared too. I'm thinking online lag might have more to do with problems PB chaining.

Does anyone have a picture of all 5 colours of Sato (the one that changes the full body colour, not just the ears and tail)

Also if I raise a Mag to:

40 Power
0 Def
0 Hit
50 Mind

It should already be a Sato at this point, so if I then raise the Power to 50, making the final stats 50 Power and 50 Mind, it wont evolve differently? It will stay just stay the same Sato (and wont turn into the other form of Sato)?

Ultie
Jan 9, 2009, 01:16 PM
it should stay the same since power won't be higher than mind, i do have images of all the colour's of mags since you can see each colour in the ingame exiclopedia thingie, i don't feel like resising and uploading stuff atm tho.

Personally, I while I like the return of the mags, I find it really annoying that in order to create the perfect mag, one that will do the things you want it to do, you're required to raise it 10 levels just to see what kind of personality it gets.

I guess I'm just annoyed that I found out a little too late that my power mag uses a defensive personality, and thus I see no shifta, and all deband coming from the mag.

Ultie
Jan 12, 2009, 05:50 PM
what they give are determined on your mag's breed. just like in pso.

(revive when dead, invincibility, shifta, deband, resta)

Lyrise
Jan 12, 2009, 06:01 PM
Not anymore, and I'm 100% sure of it. I've made 2 different Rappy with the same stats but different actions. Raise a mag to lv10 to see what its base personality is. then that personality can evolve depending on how you raise that mag by lv60. My 2 Feminis have 2 different personalities (One is capricious, the other is a "fireball"). Thus they do different things (the fireball will never cast invincibility or resta, ever).

You can see the personalities on the same screen where you see the Photon Blast.

You can even create a mag that resores PP, but sadly, that's all it does. It does not boost you in any way, or grant any invincibility. It's also a base personality as well, so you would have to change its feeding pattern to stop it from changing.

Edit: Too lazy to write up a huge blurb on this, here's the wiki link to the mag page with all of the personalities. If you want a section translated, ask away. Do note, all personalities in Wiki are written in Kanji, while all personalities in game are written in straight hiragana. Direct link is http://pszero.wikiwiki.jp/?%A5%DE%A5%B0, you're looking at the 4 tables from the second one on.

Why wouldn't it have?

What your mags do, as Lyrise said, is based on their personalities, not form. Photon Blast is form based but effects such as invincibility, Shifta, Deband, or Resta are all based on personality.

Left shoulder + right sholder, then release.

PocketAsian
Jan 19, 2009, 07:29 AM
Yea holding down both shoulder buttons, will start the PB, and if the NPCs have a full PB, you can keep holding the buttons and let the NPCs come to you so they can chain their PBs with yours.

On top of that, pressing the buttons for a split second won't initiate it. I know this because I would use a technic on the R menu and tap L to center my screen on an enemy or something.

Another option, for your NPCs, is to set them to "PBリリース" which will make them use their Photon Blast the moment they get it. If they already have their PB charged, they will just use it shortly after giving the command.

Note: The default setting is at "PBチエイン” at the bottom of the NPC command menu. This is basically the "PB chain" command. Sorry if you already knew this translation stuff btw, not sure who knows Japanese or not.

It's the button underneath the chat button when you're in story mode and you have NPCs in your party.

PocketAsian
Jan 19, 2009, 07:51 PM
Ohhh...I didn't know that. It seems when you don't have NPCs it has messages you can save for later use. I only looked into it when I was soloing, so I never knew it changed once you have NPCs.

Yeah, I find it really helpful. I set them to attack (2nd option) to help kill things faster, then I have them set to heal order when things are looking bad (3rd option). Made my life a lot easier going through the tower quests when I had some control over what my NPCs did (unlike in PSU...)

I tend to keep my NPCs on Follow Shift + Photon Release. They seem to act the same in Follow as in Free (attacking, but using Resta/Anti as needed) but stay closer to you, which means they're more likely to attack the same target and live through Mother Trinity's attack where she sends a shockwave through her "pawns". I used to use Heal Shift, but they never try to heal themselves to full

Otherwise they're still dumb as dirt and won't try to dodge traps, stand in spikes, won't break out of box traps, and won't try to dodge major attacks by enemies. One of the few times I've ever seen an NPC roll was when there wasn't even an enemy left on the screen

I always use PB chain! Though I guess it depends on your PB, you really have to when you have Jill Flow because Infinite PP on its own isnt that great... but Infinite PP, Halved charge time, 100% Critical rate and Immunity to damage of any kind... now that is good.

_Vyser_
Jan 20, 2009, 06:00 PM
Yeah, sometimes I need to rotate between "heal order" and "free order" just so they heal themselves. For whatever reason, Sarisa sometimes wont heal when I hit "heal order", but she'll fully recover everyone when I hit "free order" -_-;

Yeah, you should always PB chain if you can, but sometimes it's best to let your NPCs use their PB asap. There have been a few times where someone has a full PB charge and I'm not full yet. During some of those cases, a nice big monster will spawn in the next room (in the case of doing the Eternal Tower) and I'll have my NPCs use their PB hopefully before they die :/

You're right, if I was using Flojil I'd have them on PB Chain. But on my main character (HUnewm) I have that red centaur PB and that doesn't need much more powering up, or I save my PB to chain with the NPCs to boost their power or get Shifta/Deband from Sarisa

Great idea to put the NPCs on "follow shift", they seem to die less, and help kill things faster.

Hello :-D,

ok i am super noob to this game and have the following mags:

Japanese Name: ウラド English Name: Urado & Japanese Name: ウィン English Name: Win ... My Win mag currently looks like a squirrel with huge horns on its head... and my Urado looks like a lil robot with only 1 big horn on the right side of its head.

I am pretty sure I am doing this wrong unless it takes a LOT of items to make them evolve... i am pretty confused on what exactly is required to make them evolve, have they perhaps evolved as much as possible? or not... from the 7 pages in this thread and all the comments on them i get the idea that it should be able to evolve maybe 2 more times at the most.

These are the stats for my Urado:
red bar: 33
blue bar: 14
Yellow bar: 13
green bar: 7

These are the stats for my Win:
red bar: 44
blue bar: 15
Yellow bar: 25
green bar: 13

Am I only supposed to raise certain attributes? Or all of them in order to make them evolve??

Help :(

Also... do either of these mags eventually evolve into those cool wings (butterfly, angel, or gundam looking wings?)

Thanks!!

^^;

In order to get further evolutions, you need to find heart items. When you feed it one of these items, your mag will change into that form. Here's a topic on that: http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157124

Depending on what you feed it, depends on what stats you get. For example: Your Win mag will give you: +44 power, +15 defense, +25 accuracy. +13 mind. I hope this is what you were wondering about :O

Jan 26, 2009, 10:05 PM
What happens if you give a 3rd evolution mag a heart item? Will it still work if they're the correct level?

Valvalion
Jan 26, 2009, 10:08 PM
Yup yup. You can feed as many mag hearts to your mag as you like. Even if it's maxed out at level 100, etc.

As long as it meets the level requirement, it will turn into the form that the mag heart gives it.

Jan 26, 2009, 10:13 PM
ah good. This thread mentions you need the mag to be a 4th form mag to evolve it (I don't want to loose Jill Flow on my pure mind Mag just so I can use the rare mags D: )

Valvalion
Jan 26, 2009, 10:13 PM
I'd be careful...

Photon Arts don't retain if you use a Mag Heart.

At least mine didn't. I ended up losing my Infinite PP photon art in favour of the Shifta+Deband PA just because I used a Femini heart.

If you want to keep your Photon Art, i'd suggest not using a heart *at all* on that mag.

crap, looks like it's time to make a defense > mind mag...what a waste of 35 mind levels T^T

Then it looks like the info on the first page needs to be changed. Unless you're mistaken. And why won't the mag pic links work? Any other reference I can look at to see what the mags look like?

Somewhere within this topic, they talk about the links being from a Japanese site that doesn't allow non-Japanese IPs. At least someone uploaded what all the rare mags look like within the first couple of posts (and I can see it).

Nah, I can only get a very small amount of the links to work. Question for those that have access to the pictures:

Does anyone have a link (that works for non-Japanese users) of all the color combos for the rare mags? Someone posted a link with them, but only had the red versions. I don't want to waste raising a mag to feed it a heart, only to find it looks ugly in a certain color. Specifically, I'm wondering what Akazu looks like in the other colors.

Just great. I bought a new mag at the PD store and it was yellow... (looking for pink/red) Then I go later and buy another and it turns out blue. So I figure it must always be random. So then I buy 2 more right after that blue one and get 2 more blue... >< OK, so it's random, but only changes every time you go back into the sewers or back to town from the field/quest?

_Vyser_
Jan 27, 2009, 11:04 PM
No clue. The only time I've ever gotten an extra mag, I used my open character slot to get it. If the mags are anything like the weapon attributes, they'll change after every mission. I think I saw the attributes change when I took a break every 10 floors in the Eternal Tower, but don't quote me on that. Basically, if the attributes of a weapon in the shop change, chances are that the mag color did as well.

I know it's a bit late, but I hope this will help anyone else with problems with the pictures. From what I can tell, it's the same post. The only difference I noticed was that the links actually work.

What would be the recommended feeding pattern (simply, what do I give it) to develop Hagall MAG. Seems like every time I try I fail or get something completely different.

If you mean the mag that looks like metal wings then you have to feed it guns mostly, and some armor. From the first page:

# Japanese Name: ハガル
# English Name: Hagaru
# Condition To Obtain: Reach Level 60. Hit > Defence > Power + Mind

which are the mags that look like wings? Not a particular wings, just any that are wings, i know there are various wing mags, i wanna know what all of em are, so i know how to raise my mag. and decide on what wings ill have.

also does the color of your mag a the beginning have anything to do with its colors later on, like in PSO 1 and 2

No idea about the second thing, but:

Lagu (Guard > Mind > Other stats)
Hagall (Hit > Guard > Other stats)
Femini (Mag Cell)
Venomoids (Mag Cell)

From what I'm hearing now, personality is pre-determined when you first get your mag and can't be altered until after it's reached level 60.

I'd still like to know about the photon blasts though.
