3:05 PM I think if I lived in China, I'd want to completely escape to games too.

but isn't China a fun place? I thought it was peaceful since they have traditions and customs
and lots of respect and honor and stuff. hmmmm. I mean they do have shopping malls right?

"My relations with friends weren't good; I only communicated with them online," says Jia. "I stole money from my family and skipped school. And the games also affected my personality. If I couldn't play for a while, I would feel upset."
He hit bottom in 2006, when he ran away from home and went on a 15-day Counterstrike bender in an Internet cafe. He took breaks for instant noodles and half-hour catnaps, but otherwise went on an uninterrupted shoot-'em-up spree, as his parents searched for him.

For some reason I laughed, 15-day marathon of gaming? Does your life suck that bad?

I suppose it's probably a great deal more fun for tourists than the locals (not unlike Fresno, California, in that superficial quality). Consider though, that Chinese are not permitted to practice religion, and informed of what their opinions are meant to be, via government propaganda. The laws are strict, having relatively severe consequences, and many of the larger choices in your life are dictated by the state. There are some limited freedoms, regarding what you can spend your money on and the time you can spend doing it, but simply enough, China is a Communist nation, and Communism is designed for survival-- not liberty.

If I lose out on great games because some kid let his life to get this level of pathetic; I'll be severely upset.

You are what you choose to be. Sure, people/government affect you, but it's your choice to take it or not. Stand up, get out, or obey.

Don't detract from the life of others because your life sucks.
