I've been trying, and spent all my Mesetas on potions trying to beat this guy. The weapon im using right now is just the Power Beam :-o. I do little damage to him (about 50 per heavy shot). Also, I can't alternate between action palettes or use Photon Blasts because my L and R button doesn't work.
I don't know what class I am, except that I am a Cast..

Try staying inbetween his legs always until he's done shooting his gun then step back for when he strikes the ground.
That's really what I do and I dodge practically all of his attacks.

Do you know how much health he has? Also, since I don't have the L-button working, I really can't strafe, so I have to turn around from time to time. My D-pad is also a bit stiff, so I can't turn around that fast. Also, won't he freeze/slow you if you stand too close to him?

Basically roll under his legs when he's about to do the gunning attack. If you stay under his legs and move slightly behind him when he does the ground attack, you can beat this boss without taking damage. I had a really hard time with this boss until I realized he couldn't shoot me under his legs -_-;
For your cast, what gender are you? Also, what is the general size of it? I can probably guess what class you are from that.

Male, I THINK it's a Hunter?
Does choosing your character design decide your class? I was just thinking about that.

Does your character look more like a gundam or a power ranger?
If you can use double sabers then you're most likely a HuCast, the male hunter cast.

If you don't look like a giant box, the you're a HUcast. Another way to know is if you look at weapons, they have letters (HH, NH, CH, HR, CR, HF, NF) on the bottom of the 1st page. If [CH] is highlighted, you're a HUcast.
Now for a boss tip. I find one of the easier ways to beat the boss is to get some decent daggers with the spinning skill on them and just spam that under his legs while he tries to shoot you. After awhile, he'll fall down and you'll be able to hit his head. His head is the weak spot, so you can get some nice numbers off of that. It would also help to have a decent machine (マシン) percent on your weapon for this fight too.

Thanks for the help. I also tried standing between his legs, and it works wonderfully. Used a one-handed saber charged to deal damage to both legs and my teammates as the targets.

I played him a while ago, took me about 2-3 tries to beat him.
I play a FOnewearal, and if you didn't know already we have mad low hp. >.<
but he has an extremely easy attack pattern to follow, he won't attack when he's hovering, and you can notice when he's about to whip out the guns.
my palletes filled with techs and such so I don't use roll. (personally I don't find it usefull although it's probably because I'm a force and stay back and use techs)
Currently on the final boss though, second form is too tough. @_@
I usually get 1-2 hit from his attacks, anyone have any suggestions?

I still don't get how I wasted that Gundam my first try, but got owned once I did that mission on Hard mode (was the last mission to get Super Hard mode too, so I was well-leveled at the time >_<). I guess everyone has their opinions about rolling. I, for one, am so used to Monster Hunter's dodging system that I do it out of habit. Luckily the invincibility time while rolling is almost the same in this game, but there's a slight lag and the monsters are not nearly as hard as they are in Monster Hunter; it's basically second-nature for me :D
Anywho, back on topic. For the last form of the final boss, I hear it has a tech resistance of sorts, so you may need to melee it. I also highly suggest putting the roll on your pallet somewhere for this fight, some attacks cannot be avoided otherwise. Sorry I can't be more helpful than this, but I haven't tried fighting this boss with my force yet. My only suggestion right now is to find a tech-based weapon you can use that has a fast skill on it and try to hit both the head and body (head is the weakpoint, but also can be a dangerous spot if you are there during some attacks). I don't know if this works, but try to clear out the black balls floating around the boss with a slicer before going in to attack.
If anyone has some actual experience with fighting this boss with a Force, let us know the best way to do it. I'll have to do this at some point myself.

If you think Humilias is tough now, wait until you get to hard mode.
I can beat the final boss on hard just fine but I'm still having problems with it. =/
