I do best when I hit the sack early and get 4 hours sleep before the servers come back up. Then I just play straight through until dawn ;)

-I'm going to go to work, then I'll head home eight hours later.
-I'll have an early dinner if I feel hungry.

Then, and only then, will I log back in. I feel that deliberately not playing until I'm physically booted from the game and not rushign to be the first to log back in will greatly reduce the chance of my character getting corrupted, and also being effected by a rollback if one becomes necessary.

In the meantime I've written some software that needs polishing and documentation. I'll probably work on that for awhile.

I'll probably get on earlier than I usually do, but that's about all I'll do. I don't get people that get up way, way early for these things (as soon as the servers go back online) and spam it until they're miserable. You can still play it the same amount of time if you pace yourself right, and it's better in the long run because you don't burn yourself out.

After the last two rollbacks took away hours of play, I will play a little in the morning and go to work as if nothing is different for the game. I lost most of my confidence that any big updates will come off without problems. Better now to wait so that others can test the content out for bugs.

Lol staying up all night is so not worth it imo. I guess if you're still young you can stay up all night and then all day the next and continue with your normal sleep schedule. But for old timers like myself, I find that staying up all night just for a game update messes the sleep schedule and my interest in the update at the time would be non-existant since I would be tired as crap haha. Its not one of those updates to stay up for in other words.

Anyways, I wake up around 2-3 am so I dunno, I suppose I'll do a run or something, I kinda went back on one of "breaks" from PSU so I think I'll be missing out on most of this event. I blame the lol jabronimaster and the fact I got all the gear I wanted as a JM meh.
