Hihi... i've just got my game and even while i've been in the forums as guest... i couldnt get most of the topics since i didnt really had the game.
Now that i've been playing it, i started a Hunter Newman... Im just lvl 17 so i cant really yet tell the difference but i wanted to know the good points and bad points of each hunter class since i wanna do the damage...
i've readed that in higher difficulties, your techs deal more damage, so being a cast would be a bad idea if u wanna go on... even though right now my techs deal sad damage if im not using a rod.
Any tips?

Well all the Hunter types should focus on melee damage not tech damage, you did pick the best type of Hunter to use techs, a Newman Hunter, however you still wont do much damage with techs. You should focus on doing damage with striking weapons first, the main benefit of using techs with Hunter characters is using Resta and Anti to heal, as well as Shifta and Deband to buff yourself.

Thanks for the answer ^^
So... Newman hunter dont hit as hard as the other 2 races, and techs doesnt help that much either (humans can use techs as well right?)... and they have the worst hp of the 3 races... maybe Newman isnt such a great choice right? or does evasion really matter when "tanking" a party?

Are you a HUnewearl or HUnewm? (female or male?)
Human Hunters have slightly stronger Attack, Defense and HP.
Newman Hunters have slightly stronger Mind, Evade, Accuracy and PP.
The differences arent too big so I wouldnt worry about it, Newman hunters will still do good attack damage with weapons. Evade is pretty useful for a Hunter and your extra PP will be good for using more PAs. Of course like you said, later on when get to a higher Level and you have high level techs, you have the choice to switch to a rod or wand type weapon and do great damage with the techs.
Its upto you really, see how you do in melee combat, if you think you arent doing enough damage then maybe you should make a Human Hunter. Just remember you can always make a Mag with 100 Attack and use 80 Power Materials to give your Attack stat a big boost.

No problem, happy to help!
As an example...
When your HUnewm reaches lv100 he will have 423 Attack.
A HUcast (the Class with the highest Attack) at lv100 has 504 Attack.
So thats only a difference of 81, you could just use 80 Power Materials and just like that, you are only 1 off a HUcast's Attack stat!

Hehehe yeah but even though thats technically right... a HuCast is probably using 80 power materials as well and still have 81 more power than me heh but is ok... They still cant use techs at all, even though they probably tank better with that hp and def... thanks again ^^

I can't tell you how many times the HP regen on HUcasts has actually saved me from dying. It's also nice, in the Eternal Tower, to use the HP regen to heal myself instead of wasting mates. Then again, using resta isn't much different from standing there healing between rooms (I just don't use pp to do it). I'm sure teching might help kill things fast, but my massive HP, attack, defense, and various 40%+ weapons help keep me alive and kill things very fast now.
I plan to make a HUnewm/newearl at some point, but I hope Reeve's death-rate isn't an accurate portrayal of the class XD

Except using resta is about a gazillion times faster.
The real downside to not using resta is not being able to top up your HP when you just lost like 15% and you know the next boss hit is is going to take off 90%. You gotta save those mates. This situation crops up quite a lot. HUcast is definitely a challenging character to play, but it's fun to be the one who deals out the big numbers.

True true, but I can't say I've had this problem. I have yet to be hit for anything more than about 54% of my HP, so I'm fine if I keep my HP relatively high. HUcast is not as hard as people may think it is to play because of the lack of resta. You just need to not get hit in the first place. As long as you have good item management (and healbot management), you can do any mission without any risk of running out of healing items. Although the monsters hit really hard at first in Super Hard mode, the HUcast's HP/defense helps prevent 1-2hit KOs. The only exception to this I found was: if you can't dodge those homing tank missles then get stuck in front of the tank's charge move, or get jumped on by two of those large bull-esque beasts at the same time (I was quite under-leveled at the time, so it was expected).
All-in-all, it's down to play style. Since PSO, I've been used to going off and doing something else while my HP/PP recharges. I'm pretty stingy when it comes to item usage, so I take full advantage of stat regens when there is a downtime. This is when I solo of course.

What loss do you take when you are incapacitated? Meseta, exp, nothing?

I have not noticed any changes. You might loose exp, but I haven't died enough for it to be noticeable. I know for sure you don't loose your money, or items.

you dont lose anything when you die aside from getting a higher death rate in player records lol

...and as one of the titles requires you to die 100 times you better get to it if you wanna get all the titles! I'm not even close to 100, I think I only recently hit about 20 maybe?

Lol, oh god... I always find it odd when a game rewards you for dying a lot of times...I don't think I've ever gotten those achievements without purposely being suicidal.

Hey there I have a question about the HUmar and HUmarl. What's the Stat difference between them? I know in PSU female humans had the defensive stats over their male counter-part, is it the same here?

I like how it translates numbers. It might be better to not use the Google translation... The things go in this order: HP, PP, power, guard, hit, swift, mind, total.
Not too sure on the last part for level 100. It says "total power" but I'm not sure how they came up with that number.

Lmao, I never noticed that before. I figured that only the stats at level 100 make a difference, so I only looked at that chart. XD

i thought the way they got "total power" was adding all stats?
Shiroyu

No, that's what "total" is. Underneath total is "total power" on the level 100 chart.
