From my understanding it's a random system, there is 10%, 12%, 14%, 16%, 18%, 20%, 22%, 24%, 26%, 28%, 30%, 32%, 34%, 36%, 38%, 42%, 46% & 50%

My question is: If I am successful in creating a weapon is there 1 in 18 chance I will get a 50% weapon? Because it sure as hell doesn't feel like it...

I think it's actually more like a bell curve. You're more likely to get one of the numbers in the middle and least likely to get a really high or really low %. That's why %s in the 20s and 30s are more common than the 10s or 40s/50.

So if it's a bell it will look something like this:

26% / 28% - 9
24% / 30% - 8
22% / 32% - 7
20% / 34% - 6
18% / 36% - 5
16% / 38% - 4
14% / 42% - 3
12% / 46% - 2
10% / 50% - 1

It would be interesting to take some data on this...

i dont think its even like that, because i've seen way more 10's than 50's, but that seems to be the basic concept

I'd like to create a spread-sheet on a lv 100 Striking PM. I will note my luck as well... I know people say it doesn't matter, but if you get enough information you can see trends... I'll also break it down into star-ratings. It's not going to be conclusive off the bat, but if I take enough information it could be useful.

I'm a statistic nut, you should see my Gamerscore spread-sheet :-)

That sounds interesting, let us know the results! ^^

Also, I agree with mvffin. Even though I said it's a bell curve, I don't think the curve is symmetrical. 10%s are more common than 50%s (at least that's what it seems like).

I kinda agree with what stukasa said but most of the number coming from the middle

bcuz last week i made a bunch of blumiers and about 85% came out between 22%-34% The rest where either 20% or less or 40+

I think it goes something like this:

20-28% - most common
42-50% - least common

10-18% and 30-38% are in the middle. They're not too common but not too rare either.

I already made the spread-sheet with formulas and all. Now I just need some results. haha! I think I'm going to start with some 9* A-rank weapons. Which ones are still pretty popular? Ever since the Master classes there has been a sort of drop-off for A-Rank stuff.

It may seem like 10's are more common, but it could possibly be because people actually use 50%'s and no one really wants a 10%?

If you're looking in player shops then yes, that's probably the reason why. I just sell my 10%s to the NPC now, I don't even bother selling them in my shop anymore.

I myself usually feed the 10%'s to the PM that made them, it's like rubbing his/her face in it when they do it wrong, I think it helps me get over the depression that my PMs put me into when they make crap weapons.
