View Full Version : End Game - A reality we should accept?

Immovable One
Feb 10, 2009, 11:09 PM
Greetings everyone,

I'm bored after doing my homework, so I feel like writing this cute post.

I know I've only been playing for a few months (like.... 3?), but something is going on between me and this game that is starting to concern me.

I made 4 characters, each with specific goals-
> Immovable One
- My main. A Caseal Protranser who will be equipped with crazy weapons including Arb Bico, Drill Knuckles, Hand Spear, Love Inferno, Madam Brella, and Robopitch Grenade.

> Deedlit - a Force Newearl. Nuff said.

> Lyla Brangwen - a Human Acrofighter with the best slicer I'm willing to equip her that is the Sanzu-hiken. I also gave her Twin Nei Claws, and a Falclaw (see what I'm doing here?). That means she pretty much already have her end game gear.

> Samus Aran - my newest creation, meant to grind armors for the characters above.

I only need the Love Inferno to complete my main's final palette.
I'm only leveling Lyla enough for her to finally be able to use the Falclaw.
And Deedlit and Samus are pretty much who I throw all my extra junks to - with the wands and staffs fed to Deedlit's PM, and the armors and units to Samus's.

Long story short, I think I'm finally reaching the end of this game, and I find it hard to believe. Does this mean I will finally focus on another game (cough*FFXI*cough) ? Because we all know we could only play the game so much.

I'm sure some of you guys experienced this too, when you think you've already done all there is to do with the game, and start to feel you gotta move on.

....

....

And I preordered Phantasy Star V....er.... Star Ocean Last Hope too....yeah....

PSU has no endgame, that's a no-brainer. Once you hit the cap, you can do several things:
50% :lightning::dark::light::ground::ice::fire:
Armas Line and...
Ank Buti, Mugunburga, Agito Repca, Carriguine-Rucar
...10/10
Love Inferno, Rattlesnake, Spread Needle/G, Battlestopper
...10/10
Psycho Wand, Granahodorac, Pushan
...10/10

Future...
50% Carriguine-Rucar+, Flowen's Greatsword+, Ank Kireek
...10/10
Guld & Milla, Killer Elite, Adahna Degahna Cannon, Spread Needle
...10/10
Rutsulrod, Granahodora
...10/10

Enough to do in PSU now? Really, no?
Then...
Max all PAs at either 40 or 50.

Still?

yeah i must admit i really do like this game. It was i think the first xbox 360 after pdz i played. i met all my friends on the demo and then we all moved on the real game. About 2 years later after moving on the real game, they all quit and i am the only one of my friends that play this game. They all went to WOW and personally i dont like that game but off topic sry. i used to find all the first universe 2nd and third filled and i would always meet someone new. Now that all my friends have left the game i have no1 to play with. and slowly i am 1 also finding this game boring when there is no1 to play. and its getting a little bit repeatitive also. I have found myself taking like 5 week breaks until there are like 20 new weapons and some new missions. If i was playing this game daily i would have quite a long time ago.

You really have to keep yourself occupied that it sometimes feels like a need to play the gamerather then wanting to and having fun playing the game. going hunting, meeting people, playing the shops and sometimes sit on the 4th floor and chill. If you dont keep finding new fun ways to keep the game fun you will quit the game in a short amount of time. Also if you have no1 to play with you will also quit rather quickly.

reason i wont cap my techs and search for weps...i did all that in pc and when i came to xbox i just see it as meh with money being easy to get you can buy anything and capping tech makes the game more borin so i just save tech leveling for when i come back.....and its not really enough weps to make you want to hunt seriously unless u have no life and need to have everything

It isn't a bad idea to take a break when your exhausted with PSU. Everyone plays the game at their own pace. When I am exhausted I go play another game or go read a book.

Taking a break works wonders. I usually play for 4 - 5 months than hop over to PC and City of Heroes/Villains and then come back after some months. Both games don't have real endgame content so I need a break from them after some time.

I have been playing a little over 2 years only on one character and still love this game. Its all about breaks. Im not even capped yet because of breaks. I usually play pretty hard for about 6 months, and then take 6 months off and focus on other games. Then when a cool event comes around or alot of content is released i come back.

I've also been playin for over 2 years now. By taking breaks of 6-8 months between playing 1 month together with some (real) friends of mine keeps the game challenging and interesting.

Taking a break is always the best solution. I left the game back in July of 07' after I obtained 50% muktrands of every element; then I came back a year later to the second run of MAG, the expansion and its fixes of v1, and all the new items.

With only a few 13* or higher items released thus far there's still some endgame content we haven't seen from Segac yet. After all, we're only in year three of ST's "five year plan" for PSU. I look forward to hearing more details on that massive spring update for the jp servers, specifically the points for character customization once you've hit the character level cap.

As I've always said, PSU is the best version of Gauntlet I've ever played.

I take a break from PSU from time to time... and I didn't play for about 9 months prior to AoI. Once they release a few new weapons your "final pallet" won't be the same. Unless the new items look and sound terrible, then I won't upgrade. PSU is one of those games I can come back to and still feel excited about playing when something new comes along. When there are no more updates... then that will be end-game.
