I was just wondering somthing I was able to get online for the first time not to long ago and everyone who talked to me seem to get a little pissy coz I was playing a female character even tho i am male. is this a bad thing or somthing? I mean just came off of playing Asheron's Call where people didn't care one way or another what type of character you played. sorry if it is a stupid thing to ask I was just wondering

I play a female character and I'm not one. Its a game, so who cares? the people who get pissy are probably the liitle kids who wanted to hit on you. In fact the vast majority of the female characters are male players anyways.

I mean, if you gotta look at a butt for 200 hours just to find that elite double saber http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif, wouldn't u rather it was a girls?

Well, in AC or EQ I do sorta care because one, there is no differnce stat wise between Male and Female...and to me those two games are more socialy interactive that PSO so you get to know people a little bit better.

But in PSO, some class/race is female only right, so that does not really give you a choice, I'm fine as long as people are honest with me and dont lead me on.

A lot of males play as females... but it's often for the reason Mistkerl mentioned (cripes, everyone and his brother uses that same line about the character's rear end), so don't be surprised if people are put off by it at first. It's nothing to get too worried about. I'm sure that they'll be nicer to you once they realize that you're not a lech. ^^;

I just go with what characters have the stat set and abilities I want. In EQ and Ac though where there is no difference in male/female characters I usually just go with male though.

I'd have to agree with the general consensus here. Not because of character, but because I've long preferred playing a fast, agile character to a strong, tough character. Which is why I hope in PSO2 they'll give us male/female choices for EACH class... ::sighs:: And they'd better not make the Forces look like jesters again...I hate jesters... </rant>

I don't think it's a big deal for a male to play a female character. It's not like you're going to find your future wife on PSO... it's a video game, not a dating service.
