My absence has been largely due to the necrotic condition of my motherboard. Swollen capacitors tend to be bad capacitors, and typically prevent these machines from operating, you understand. I'll return to inserting 42 into all of your polls as soon as possible, however.

That's not why I've created this thread, however.

I've an announcement, of sorts.

As of 10:45 AM PST, this morning, it is of medical certainty that my wife is, in fact, several weeks pregnant.

That is all.

How does a HUnewearl get someone pregnant?

Nitro Vordex
Feb 24, 2009, 07:22 PM
By kissing.

They give you cooties.

How does a HUnewearl get someone pregnant?

There is a very good reason why I chose this name for this site, but despite the androgynous cloak of the internet, I am very much, a man.

Well, supposing that it's a boy, we've considered naming him after my grandfather: Taylor. Of course, I'd really like to name him after my other grandfather, Holger. Aside from that direction, we've got some big decisions to make.

Your wife should know better than to sit on public toilet seats!

Congratulations on your purchase of a brand new Homo sapiens sapiens. Good health and sanity to you, your wife, your little sprout, and your motherboard.
Feel free to consult the FKL frequently for expert tips.

Swollen capacitors have a tendency to becoming leaky capacitors. I had that on my ancient 386 machine. The board ended up leaking everywhere but still ran like a champ oddly enough.

And, definitely, congratulations! You've both got good heads and most certainly will pass that quality on to your child(ren).

Congrats!! :DThe milkman, as my genetics professor would say.

Congratulations. It will be fully human, right?

Tomeeboy: ^^;

Ketchup, the child will be at least as human as I am. I'll let you do the math from there.

Astuarlen, I've no problem with coming to FKL for expert tips, but I must first deduce just exactly what field is FKL's expertise.

... somehow, I remember you posting a while back, saying that if you ever got a kid, you'd damned well make him go through the 8-16 bit generation of games, oldschool Phantasy Star, and the like, before even touching modern games. Something about appreciating the older generations or whatnot.

I remember odd things.
Prove it.

oh. and congrats.

Sounds like what I'd do to my kids.

I think I'd try and keep my kids away from games. Meanwhile, I'd be "working" on my computer.

"Daddy, why are you shouting?"

"That idiot got in my line of fi... spreadsheet columns won't line up. Yeah."

Books will be written about my treachery.

So now we know why you were so absent.... *ahem* I'll hold it here.

Godspeed to you sir, I heard that pregnant women can be rather... feisty.
Also, be careful with relying on our tips; One bunch of crazy, schizofrenic and bi-polar megalomaniacs is enough.

Ha! I was thinking about that, but didn't want to bring it up. I guess I'm not the only crazy one.

Books will be written about my treachery.

I'm already looking for a publisher for the first one.
