As many as opened a rant topic afterwards.

99!=100.

Thats all there is to it.

Not necessarily...

Think of it like this:
1/3= .33333....
2/3= .66666....
so if the above is true, then:
3/3= .99999....

so therefore 99! does NOT equal 100

That's what he said. In programming lingo, != means "Does not equal"

Those decimal numbers are recurring; in the case of 2/3 and 3/3, you'd need to eventually round the last place up, thus netting 0.66667 and 1.00000, if we used 5 places like you did. Sure, you can go on to an infinite number of places, but is that really practical? Some decimals can't really express fractional values accurately because of this... you start getting into irrational numbers and shit from there.

And yes, != means "does not equal" in programming code. Of course the factorial of 99 (99! = 1 x 2 x 3 x.... x 98 x 99) wouldn't equal 100.

Yaaay, math is stupid. :3

But yeah, I feel ya on these retarded synth rates. The first Shigga Desta I tried to make (had a 96% rate on a pure ranged PM along with a synth bonus going on at that time) failed on me, yet lately I've tried failing 8* Kubara boards to make materials (stuff like Soda Hazzoc in the same PM using El-Photons, netting a 4% success rate), and I've come out with at least 3 times where they actually synthed properly. O_o; I'm just glad that Segac was smart enough to ditch the synthing system in PSP and went back to the old PSO method of items dropping made with random stats and what not.

It's all heads or tails anyway. You either fail something or you don't. You're either the father or you're not.

Oops, I forgot about the factorial thing...

Shit, I meant that just 99 itself doesn't equal 100, but if you take the time to think out what I posted before, our number system is pretty much a complete lie if you speak in absolutes.

Cant say that I have failed one. Made all three of my P wands successfully (although I made them when we got the synth boost).

That one precent explains it all.

And I think, that concluds the topic.

Good day.

3/3= .99999....but .99999... = 1 though. higher levels of calculus will explain why that is.
