How many times will it happen, does anyone know if there is an actual cause or if its random. I just lost: Ruby Bullet, Final Impact, Red Scorpio, M&A60 Vise, and an Inferno Bazooka not to mention 2 lv100 plus mags to this crap. Does it have anything to do with connection?

My adviice is only carry your equipped weapon around, and never carry extra MAGs. IT happens much more often to 56k users than BB users.

Are you using PPPoE DSL? If so thats why you FSOD so much. I had my connection set up using PPPoE and I FSOD all the time. The only real solution is to go out and buy a router. This changes your connection to DHCP (I think thats what its called, that or DHP or something). That connection doesnt FSOD. This is the fix to the FSOD if its happening when it says "the line is disconnected, game over push start." Then it just freezes because thats what I was getting and a router fixed it.

Yeah, if you need Broadband advice, ask me! I've done alot with Broadband and PSO..o.O

But what is your connection type?

I know how you feel. I can expect to FSOD at least once everytime I play online. Last night it happened to me 3 times. I am so broke because of it. I would love to play online and carry several different weapons and switch out. Instead I have to go back to the bank everytime I wanna change out weapons. It DOES happen to Broadband users. I have a T-1 line at 2mbps. That's more than enough bandwidth yet I still get disconnected all the time. I have tried everything from contacting my ISP to getting new cables to new hardware. I have just learned to live with it. It amazes me that the sonic team made it so easy to lose items.

Yes it has to do with connection type and how your network, etc is set up. blah blah blah. if you use PPPoE to conenct then well its an even bigger bitch but i think uh watashiwa knows most about PPPoE bba stuff than anyone else duh i might be wrong .

I use PPPOE myself. So is this the cause of all the disconnects? If it does not work with PSO then why do they include that option in the network setup menu? It does not make any sense.

What happened was this. theres a glitch in the software that causes random disconnections when your on PPPoE, when it disconnects this way it causes a fatal error with the game and locks it up. Thats your FSOD there. Now sega new about the glitch in the JP version thats why they made v1.1, one of the reasons at least. They new about the problem in the US software but instead of fixing it they chose to let it out and sell it as is. A bad choise considering PPPoE DSL is one of the most common broad bands in the US. The fix is to get a router. You can get a 2 port router for around 40-50 bucks and if you need help setting it up IM or PM me and ill lend a hand.

actually, i have had it happen only twice, the first time it was my memory card (third party generic mega)....lost everything on it, but second time, just lost everything on person that wasnt equipped. I use dial up through msn and not bb. I tend to disagree that it happens more to dial up users. I think alot of it is segas servers, glitchs and such. maybe too many people on one ship in one block at once....ect ect..

I'm having the same problems, with line disconnects, and then the gamecube freezing on the black screen, never saving.

It will go to the save screen though, if I intentionally create the disconnect (i.e. pull out the cat5e cable while I'm online; was testing things..)

I think I will have to buy a router too... I love Sega, but they never get things right. And here I thought service was bad for the three years I have played EverQuest hehe.

$9 for dupes, hardly any updates, pppoe problems, mainly a p2p connection with the servers handling minimal stuff (i.e. lobby).....

The good things Sega always bring keep me hanging on though ~_~

i also have PPPoE DSL connection. it will say "line disconnected: press start" but when i press start, i get a black screen and it never saves. now just like someone says, if i unplug the fcat5 and it says im dissconnected, it will save reguraly. it happns alot and its really annoying. does anyone know if i can try this:
share my DSL connection out of an extra network card on my computer so my gamecube wont havta "log-in" using PPPoE. then just put a cat5 RJ45 crossover cable from my pc to my gamecube and share my pc cnnection. this will work just like a router. will that prevent this crap from happening?

Well it's good to see that I am not the only one having this problem. What's worse is that you cannot get any info from Sega at all. I have called the numerous times on this issue and I always get the same reply "Check with your isp."

the two times it happened to me where when I was trying to 'port into Antares 8. lost a demo comet + 25 (gwaaaaa) and a Red Sword +52. I'm on a cable modem and don't connect via PPPoE

I think its funny how often you guys get FSOD because i have 56k modem with a free ISP and i barely ever get FSOD. I play a lot online =)

My gamecube is hooked to a Router and I still get FSOD. I got FSOD after last maintenance too.

I guess there is no hope for us PPPOE users. I wonder if I got a static IP if that would help.

Um yes it does. I don't know what provider you use but with mine you can pay extra for a static ip and have a constant connection and not have to sign on with a username and pass everytime as with PPPOE. Man idiots really piss me off.

I've gotten a whopping 2 FSODs, and the only things I've lost were meseta, though I had various rares in my inventory.

I keep them in the check room out of paranoia anyway.

I've gotten a total of 5 FSODs in the past 5 days I've had this game, two of those were offline though mysteriously. Think it might be more due to the Mad Catz memory card I use since I can't think of another explanation (don't think it's due to PPPoE since I don't freeze when I disconnect, just the game freezes at some random location.

I have a router and BB... I've only been FSODed once. And I've been playing online since a little after Halloween. All I lost was a Varista. *Shrug*

More like ironic since that setup was nothing but trouble in DC PSO...

Guess I take it no one else can answer my question. >_<
