I was wondering, if i buy the JP version, and build up my character, then when the US release is out, can i transfer my character or do I have to start over???

you cant transfer because there is no option to transfer from japanese to american. if you have a specific type of "cart", you could probably rename the .SAV to match the american game and it might work.

you mean like r4ds? i cant find the rom....so should i wait until the rom is out ?

rom has been out for a long time now. we shouldnt even talk about stuff like this on this board.

If the JP and US version share the same online server, which they do with alot of DS games as far as I know, then you could potentially transfer items over that way. Not 100% if that'd work though, keep that in mind.
