lag/slowdown

I keep getting lag or slowdown whenever i'm playing in a main city or mission, but when i'm in a shop or small area, i'm pretty sure it goes back to normal.

Is there anything i can do to change this other than:

get better internet connection
get new computer

Well, you can try raising the priority on the executable.

Simply press ctrl+alt+delete (be sure to do this before opening the game, or it'll cause it to crash), or ctrl+shift+esc with Vista, click on the "Processes" tab, then click on "Image Name" (or whatever the first column's called) and find the PSU executable. Right click on it, then click "Set Priority", then put it on "high". Look for a "Gamemon.des" and do the same, except put the priority on "low".

It certainly helped for me, though there are still some points where slowdown seems inevitable. But it's the next best thing besides getting an upgrade for your PC.

When the first time i tryed doing that, neither of the programs showed up while the game was on, but when i tryed to restart and get on another time, the game won't start up. Gameguard loads quickly then the game comes up then goes away real fast.

Any more info on this would be appreciated. I play this on Vista on My Macbook, and it does slow down. I would like to make sure that I can play with others and not worry about it slowing down.

What kind of graphics card the laptop has and what version of vista youre using?

Make sure you have DirectX 9 or whatever installed.

I reinstalled my game and loaded that on and it seems to have resolved my slowdown problems.
