Ok duping sucks, duh. But what about saying you can dupe and then stealing items from dupers? Dupers should learn the hard way, and this is it. I just want opinions, should this be ok? I think so, just because I do it. Most of the items I donate to hard working noobs, so all i have to say is cheaters never prosper.

Nah, you'd just be lowering yourself to their level. Theives are just as bad as cheaters and in reality, stealing items isn't going to do much being as they'll just run to Vega and get 3 copies of it back.

I still feel the best thing to do wuth cheaters and dupers is to just "ban" them, in a de facto kind of way. If every player just won't play with egomaniacs, greedy stealers and dupe hounds, then their circle of online "friends" will soon only consist of other of the same ilk and a room full of those people will get ugly real quick. Soon they'll have noone to play with them.

If you feel someone meets the following criteria, just quit out of that game, remember their name, tell your friends and avoid them like the plague. Even if they don't get the hint they will soon be left alone to contemplate why noone will play with them.

And, in your case, you are also a cheater. You steal from cheaters and give away those cheat items to unsuspecting people who simply do not know better. You are helping to spread duped items; therefore, you are a part of the problem.

If said duper had a legit item that they wanted duped, why then would they give it to you as oppposed to just duping it themselves? After all, they are DUPERS, right? Sorry, but I see no point in your plan. Is all you would accomplish is stealing legit weapons from legit players.

That's about as lame as stealing money from one bank and depositing it in another. Actually, that makes so little sense, I can't even argue about it. People who dupe are, in fact, cheaters(Duh!). Cheating is like a virus and it spreads on all the crap that it touches. So basically, you're getting the disease by taking items off of a cheater. He dropped four God/Bodies? Hell, if you're so content on stealing off him, I'd place my money you'd keep them.

I think that dumpers sux becuses your not playing the game right and picking dumpers item up is a good way of teachhing them a lesson. It not call stealing it is called borrowing something and haveing no attiones on giving it back.

Ok now why would a duper give you legit items that they want duped? Since dupers are the ones that dupe items in the first place and all the items the duper has are probably dupes themselves.

In the end it isn't right to steal under any circumstances.

oh that's so lame of ST ... what if some unknowing person has a duped item and gets banned for having it? if ST does that, that would be VERY cheap ... after all, not everyone knows that the item they have is duped

Yeah, really. A duper who subcontracts duping doesn't make sense at all...lol.

That brings up another point.

How can you make certain that Humar using a T-J sword is or isn't a duper? You can't tell from the equipment they use. Not everybody who uses dupes are dupers, keep that in mind.

Besides, if you've ever traded for anything decent (ie. god/battle, mats), you are probably in possession of dupes. That makes you a cheater as well.

I'm sorry, I don't think that you or anyone else is justified in stealing items from people by misleading them. So, because I believe theft is wrong, I'm going to have to rain on your parade Robin Hood.

For those of you who, for whatever reason absolutely feel the need to have a backup copy of your items, I'd like to make a suggestion to you for safeguarding your rares from those who wish to steal from you such as janitorbob here. Follow these simple steps:

1) Gather up a few common items with some unique %s like a handgun with 15% a.beast or a saber with 5% native, etc..

2) Go to Gallons gift shop and have these items gift wrapped.

3) Carry these presents around and if you insist on seeking the services of a person claiming to be a duplicator, tell them you wish to test their claims first.

If they can successfully produce a few exact clones of the gift wrapped items within say a 10 minute maximum time window then they pass the test, otherwise they fail and if they split with your presents, your losses are minimal.

Lying is mean. Theft is mean. Hacking other people's characters (NOL, PK, FSOD, etc) is mean. All of these are done with the specific intent of hurting someone. Duping is not usually done with the intent of being mean, except for a few people who are experience hogs. Therefore, I do not think that stealing is an appropriate response for a request to dupe (unless they want more than 2 copies made, cause then they are likely a mass duper and that is harmful to the PSO economy).

I, in all honesty, don't think duping is that bad. The only way it gets out of control is when people mass produce the uber rares, and take the fun out of it for the people who try to find them. I'll admit it. I dupe for myself and a couple friends that I trust, but that's it. I've duped maybe 8 things, and nothing better than a God/Power or some L&K's. I don't plan on it getting out of hand, I just do it because we all three have been corrupted, and we actually NEED it. There's my two bits.
