I was super lucky to find a Love Inferno board last night. I went to grinder it immediately after I made it. I had 7 Grinder +9. It was my 3 star luck night.

It failed after I tried for 5/10. If I grinded it with Grinder +10, would it give me a better chance? I am asking this because Grinder +9 and Grinder +10 have the same "high" chance.

S+10 should be better than S+9, but the success is not certain. It's still by chance.

if they both say high chance then it wont really matter, once you get it to the point when S+9 says 50-50 and S+10 still says high chance then switch over.

regardless though in my experience with grinding... high and very high can still = 50-50 chance :\

IDK cause ive never been lucky enough for that stuff a day in my life! I spent all my money on S+10's once before and I had 3 star luck and tried grinding my carriguine-rucar and i broke it 3 times and it ended up being 6/7! What a waste! It broke everytime I got to 5 upgrades and the last Grinder S+10 i had got to 6! I spent 20 Mil on that in the hope I would make some money off of it and never made that much money again!

warning: grinding can cause abnormal reactions in people which can lead to fits or self harm

Yes, it does matter. All grind attempts have an exact percentage success rate.

I am just jealous of others i guess.

Erm, from what I can see, each grind has a certain chance of success, and the grind NPC summarizes it for you. For instance, with your current rank and grinder, the game may calculate a 69% chance of success, which the game will summarize as "high." The next one may be 61%, which the game may again summarize as "high." Then it drops down to 53%, which the game summarizes as "50-50," etc.
I say this, because it seems like not all "very high"s have the same chance of success. However, I have little supportive evidence for this, as the game really doesn't tell us much.

I have over 43 s+10 grinders. But why do they fail at 9/10 sometimes?

Because they're not guaranteed to succeed.

Best PSU player ever huh?

On topic - So if I grind with an S+10, it IS better than grinding with an S+9, even if they both say "Very High"? If so, no wonder my stuff breaks D=
Again, the success isn't that much bigger or guaranteed, but a little chance can go a long way.

This image shows grinding percentages for C-S weapons with 3 luck and a 10% grinding bonus.

When grinding S from 5->6, your success rate is 10% more using +10s over +9s. When using a +10 over a +9 when grinding from 9->10 you have an extra 15% chance to succeed.

Also, your chance of getting an item from 5-10 with +10s is roughly 12% while going from 5-10 using +9s is about 3%. If you're using anything other than +10s...enjoy your breaks. This is assuming a 10% grinding bonus too, it's even less with no grinding bonus. I think about 8% chance from 5-10 with +10s. Just take away 10% from each column to see what your real chances are.

Guaranteed is 100%
Very High is 80-99%
High is 60-79%
50/50 is 40-59%

So in other words,

"Don't @#$%ing bother unless you have absolutely @#$%-all else to do in the game"?

Very High is 80-99% (not looking at the chart, but though it was to 95%).

But ok, an s+9 and s+10 are both saying "very high" chance. Doesn't mean it's the same chance. The s+9 could be 80%, and the s+10 could be 90%.

Kinda like you got an A, and I got an A on a test, doesn't mean we got the same %. We only ended up in the same range.

Use +10 grinders, and 3* luck is all you can do. And hope for a good roll.

To TC, S+10s are the best possible grinders to use, but it all depends on what you're willing to risk. I've done the s rank 6/x to 7/x grind plenty of times with an S+9, even though it says 50/50. I only use S+10's if I truly need them. It depends on how rare the weapon is for me to decide how far I go with grinding, or decide between S+9 and S+10. It only took me 2 Conis to get one to 10/10 and I only used S+10s after 6/10, and S+9 and below for 0/10 to 6/10

IMO S rank 0/10-7/10 isn't that hard using just S+9's, but after that you must use S+10's it's crazy doing 7/10 to 10/10 without them. It's all based your guts, a bit of luck and meseta to decide between buying S+9s or S+10s. Having multiple amounts the same weapon helps out too.

Hope this helps. :D

My advise is don't ignore the chart. Even if you have to be careful with it and have in mind that every step on the chart is increase by 10% cuz of the past few grind bonus. It's the most accurate way u have to know your chances at grinding.
