Is it possible to do the so called "broadband hack" with the gamecube (Equipped with a modem)?
i still do it with my dreamcast and i think it's actually one of the best ways to connect, if your computer and console are close together and you have a spare modem for your pc...
broadband internet connections down here where i live are g**er than hell, as some don't allow connection sharing with a router and etc... and the broadband hack is a very good option.. so, is it still possible? (technically, i don't see why not.. but i'm just asking in case...)

Most don't officially support it, actually... There're only a handful that do, and they almost always charge extra for that service. I'm lucky enough to have an ISP that more or less supports it for free (Cox Internet), myself.
HOWEVER! Using a router, there is no way that an ISP can detect that you're sharing bandwidth between computers/consoles, as far as I know. Using a router to split my connection between PC and GCN has made things about 500% easier.
Course, I'm not sure if that'll help you.
I'm about 90% sure that the "hack" will work though, if I'm understanding your post correctly... I believe I read a few guides recently that explained in great detail how to do this trick, unless I'm thinking of something else.
Really, I think you'd be best off getting BB, but that's just me. How so are broadband connections where you live "g**"? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Surely they can't be all that bad, huh?

*also uses Cox cable*
Hmm. Glad I have it now after reading this. Except for that big problem it had last year reaching the servers..

I've got Cox as well. I was a bit nervous since I've heard they've dont approve of splitting your connection without asking them to do it for you (and charging you money). However, when I call tech support to find out information...the guy said I could do it myself and cut out the middle man.

hmm...
my connection is ga*er (put an y in there.. i hope you can get it now. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) because, technically, if i put my able into a router, only one port of the router will be avaliable for conection, the other ones won't have "signal"...
yes, i'm not that familiar with it and i never tried it either (it's not like i have another computer here to try it on. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif).. but that's what lots of people that have the same connection as i do have told me... maybe they're wrong too...
well.. thanks...
<e and my freinds (4 of them) play online together with a hub and bbas all t he time. We only experience a few problems every now and then.
