To get the prizes you have to beat all 9 challenge mode stages. Theres both on and off line versions but they both require at least 2 people to play, I wouldn't try it with out 4 though especially beacause you are new to challenge mode. What you should to is find games that say challenge mode in the game type collum of online games. Normally they will say C1 or C4 or the letter "C" and a number the number refers to what stage it is. If the game says TA after it don't join that game. That means time attack and the people want the lowest time possible. This is more for experts. Try to find games that say like 'C1 all welcome' and tell them that you are new to cmode. Most experts don't care, I know I dont, as long as you tell them first and listen to what they say. They've done it before and done it a lot so trust in there experience.
