My stupid brother thinks that when mods go on vacation, they can just set up bots to patrol the forum for them. I told him this was not true, cuz it's not, right?

Well, they (bots) certainly wouldn't be very effective, seeing that being programs, they'll operate only according to certain guidelines, and would not be capable of understanding or recognizing effectively which situation warrants warning and which not.

They can be also disabled, however well they're protected.

Technically, it is fairly easy to setup a bot to monitor for certain things. Usually, we just have another moderator cover the forum if someone goes on vacation.

The mods are actually our robot overlords. They can also be in multiple places at once, so they never need to take a vacation

I go by the golden rule that everyone I talk to on the internet is a robot until I meet them in real life...and even then I'm not too sure....
