Scape Dolls

Should you carry a scape doll with you at all times (Offline single player). Is it a waste of Scape Dolls, or is it a smart idea.

Also, about the S-Ranks. I read in a friends guide book, that after completing challenge mode, it takes you to a screen that asks you to choose a weapon. Then it asks you to choose an attribute (Such as Geist)(Offline). Is this true?

One last thing. Say I only get to the third challenge stage before I have to stop playing (Offline). Will it allow me to go directly to the third stage next time I play if I play with the same characters?

i only use scapes for bosses. if im just goin through levels i just make a pipe every few rooms

Yeah, that's what I do. It works pretty well too. I had a stockpile of 17 scapes in my bank that I made good use of on Ultimate Falz and Olga.

It probably isn't necessary to have one scape doll on you if you know what you're doing, especially if you're in an area that you're plenty strong enough for. It really depends on what it is you're doing. Just casual leveling, probably won't need one...If rare monster hunting you'd probably want one or more...There's no right answer, just use your best judgement.

In the Gamecube version when you acheive S-Rank, you only get to choose the type of weapon and name it, they don't seem to have any special abilities at all. Some of them have exceptionally high grindability, but other than that they are weak and basically for prestige. (Ugh just don't pick the Shot and name it "Come Shot," someone IM'd me at 3 am last night just to inform me of that idea as a name, heh.)

I'm not entirely sure, but as long as everyone in the party has beaten a particular stage it should keep a record of it. (Status --> offline) So in other words I don't see why you wouldn't be able to continue where you left off. Also, just in case you don't already know, the offline prizes are different than the online ones, there are no S-Rank weapons to be earned offline.

I find only two occassions for scape dolls. Bosses (particularly the final boss such as Falz) are a good choice. Or of course C-mode where they can be very usefull so you can keep going.

Scape Dolls? You keep those for Falz and Flow. Thing is, you only want to take one. Even then, if you know what you're doing you shouldnt need it. What I usually do is just lay a pipe right outside of the final teleporter and keep on trying without a doll. Or.. take them all with you, and lose them all in an impossible battle, then be forced to level and beat the final bosses with strategy/strength. Eh, whatever.

You might also want to take a few scapedolls with you if you are hunting for Mil Lilles or Hildetors.

I didn't, and I learned the hard way. The first Hildetor that I ever saw killed me with it's megid blast.

i dont carry them around while i play i try to save them for bosses. i used to in dreamcast but that was only because you could buyu scape dolls like everytime from bank now you cant

I save all of my scape dolls for Dark Falz. At level 81 I whooped the stuffing out of Dark Falz on Very Hard mode. I made him eat ****. All because I had a couple of scape dolls with me.

I have so many dolls from doing offline, that I might just carry a few and see how long I can go without healing.

I agree, save your scape dolls.

If you maxed out the meseta you can deposit and don't want to lose it when/if you die, just drop the meseta in the Lobby by the storage counter (it's what I do when just running through levels).

And I would also say that when going against bosses (Falz and Flow) just take one, if you die easily you know you need to do some more leveling.

How about a mag that revives you? Might not work all the time, and I dunno how much faith you can put in luck, but lately my Sato's been bringing me back from the dead pretty often. I'll expect to have to go back to P2 and all of a sudden I'm standing with half health and my synchro is down 5 points. My mag loves me. It really pays off to have your mag love you.

To answer your c-mode question, you can start where the person who has cleared the least amount of levels got. If you play with the same characters, you can pick up right where you left off.
