US version and European version

OK I'm from the UK i couldn't wait for it to be released her so i imported the US version. i have a couple of friends that wont this game.

so can the US version of the game connect to the UK version in multiplayer?

Um... i'm going to have to think about this one... they're the same game yet... I don't really know, but if I find the answer i'll give it to you... let's just say no for now so you don't get your hopes up...

It works, both US and EU versions are compatible.
I bought both US and EU versions (collector thing, also have the JP version) and first thing I tried was to see if both could connect (because I was already playing in the US version, but my friends are going to use the EU version), and both connect perfectly well.
The JP version doesn't connect to either of the others though, mirroring the behaviour we have with regular PSU, with JP being a seperate server from the US and EU PSU.
