spear question for a fan

My one and only question is about spears (here I go): what range of attack does it have? Does it attack like in PSU? Would you recomend the spear as a main weapon? Thank you all for your input

It's a melee weapon, but most spears are fairly long so they have a bit of reach, the combo is two thrusts and then a wide slash (at least for females, I dunno if males have a different combo).

I personally don't like them, but that doesn't mean they're bad, I just don't like them.
