Does your character look like you?

I'm not sure how most people choose how to design their characters... but I was wondering if anyone made their characters to resemble themself. ^^;

For the most part yes. Even the female characters resemble me in some way (atleast how I would picture myself as a girl).

I can't see myself playing a character (in an ORPG) that doesn't resemble me, because then it feels like I'm pretending to be someone else? @_@; Idk if that makes sense...

im a cast.....for the most part, and a female newman...im a dude....they dont look at all like me (female characters) but i love the design of my female cast! not soo much about my female newman.

In most games, PSU included, I find myself playing female characters. As I am not female, I just pick something that looks cute.

I think you guys are being too literal with this. Obviously you can't look exactly like your character (casts, newmans, beasts), but I think the OP means that your character's aesthetic sort of correlates with your physical appearance.

I tend to make my character's hair colours based on mine (when I have blonde hair, my characters have blonde hair, etc). I also tend to make my character's proportions match mine (I'm thin and average height, so all my characters are rather thin and decent heights). Also their names (males atleast). My clothing/parts suit my personality. So in the end, I feel that I'm playing as someone who kinda looks like me. =D

Honestly not enough people design their character's like themselves because otherwise we'd get lots of fugly, chubby, short, 20 year old boys running around. DO NOT WANT.

what makes you think we are all fugly, chubby, short, and 20? (well, i am 20)lol. anyway, i have seen some chubby characters! but i know the 2 people in particular in real life, and they dont portray their characters :)

Believe me, if they had fades, Sev would have one. Since they don't, or at least not good ones, he's been rolling with "uncharacteristic" hair. I'll make a character that looks closer me in a game, when they give me a choice of clothes I'd actually wear.

If people made characters that like themselves, the female character population would plummet. That would be saddening.

My character Alnet looks sort of like me, if my hair were straighter and a bit longer, and his skin is a shade lighter than mine.

Too bad I never play as him so nobody has a clue. :wacko:

So anyway, the characters I plan to make are more or less gonna have a few alterations in design (No-Helmet Metatron, Zadkiel using a different weapon, etc.)

xD if im going to stare at something backside for hours on end Its gunna be male xD (lol im female) so i play alot of my male characters, My lone females one looks nothing like me (lol im not dark skined nor pretty nor tall) and the other is based off a anime character (altho she looks a little like me not by much)

As for my others, they're all based on characters from my story. (Aside from Nephtys and Aircel) I'm gonna end up remaking my second character slot (AGAIN) and put a male character in there. (AGAIN) XD

his clothing and hair and skin tone all match mine (i dont wear alot of bright attire like yellows and light blue ,green etc so my beast doesnt either juz keep it dull with browns or other neutral colors)

I have never made chars that look like me, except one Humar in PSO, the first Lucky Pants, was modeled after myself at age 9-10. I was getting in touch with my inner child every time I played :)

My main character has a few things that are in common with me (the brown hair, the "maybe an inch or two shorter than average" height) but the rest is based off of how I'd see him look in a story I've had bouncing around in my head since....... maybe middle school? And I'm 25 now, so go figure how long THAT'S been there. As for the other three female characters... well, they're female so definitely not. Totally different - 2 average height, one tall, and red, black, and blonde, and totally different hairstyles altogether. I guess the only thing they have in common with me is they're borderline Albinos (since we all know that gamers hate sunlight, and going outside is utter blasphemy).

A little bit but not entirely. I don't dress in skimpy outfits in real life, which I do in video games to get on people's nerves. I'd also put red lipstick on my main if I could, which I'd never try to pull off in real life, so there are a few things I chose to make different because I was able to do things there that I wouldn't be comfortable doing in real life.

thank you, thank you :D a lot of people seem to like the style. i changed only 1 things since i made that character the mid section....(autumn pointed out) the skin showing on a cast didnt look too good, so i changed it, and love it now!

the only way my characters resemble me is that they're all short. i'm only 5'4" so i guess that was an unintentional thing i did with all my characters except my newman, she's like 4'9" lol my other 3 characters are all about 5'4"-5'5" according to the in game scale lol. not sure how i did it but i did. other than that though i'd say they dont really look much like me. they all look pretty similar to eachother but i wouldnt say they look like me.
