I stumbled on a game called Spelunky. It's about an explorer with a clown nose (Really!) whose job is to go into caves and collect treasure.

Every time you start the game up, you see a picture of the explorer in a rather precarious position. He's sitting right in front of an arrow trap and he's surrounded by a bat and a snake.

The game also provides some dramatic opening text. This changes every time you start the game.

The opening menu is interesting because you can play around with the controls. You enter doors to do various game functions.

I've found the exit!

After going to the next level, the little explorer guy hears snakes! He hates snakes! He also sees a shop on the side of the screen. Unfortunately, our meager sum of 5,500 dollars isn't enough to buy anything there.

The explorer has found himself in the snake pit. Whatever will he do?

Kill all the snakes, of course! But, how will he get out?

Luckily, the explorer brought ropes.

On the next floor, we find a key. What does it unlock?

Found it!

This will be useful, if I survive long enough to make it useful.
It lets me detect hidden treasures in the walls and floors.

Meet the Tunnel Man. He asks for exorbitant amounts of money, but in exchange he'll dig me a shortcut to the end of level 4. The Tunnel Man will be a big help in getting to later levels.

The explorer decides to call it a day and head back to the desert town on a camel.

Don't pull disappearing acts like that!

Game looks interesting... if I wasn't going completionist on Tales of Vesperia. And playing some PSU.

I think I read about that a while back in some article on indie games.

I may have to try it out, if only because a few months back I thought how neat an excavation-themed adventure/puzzle game would be.

This, uh... this seems to fit the bill pretty nicely.
