Since I couldn't find the thread in any recent area of time (that makes sense...) Here is Seority Lyzael that I made up a while ago.
Pic is slightly mature, just so you know in case you are sensitive to stuffs like that.

Nice and slutty looking (hey, it's the casino suit, *shrug*) I'm sure it'll be bound to draw in compliments because of that alone.

Note how I didn't put in "Comments?" in the post. Yes, I know it's slutty looking, but that is how my cast is. If anything, I'm just trying to get better at coloring with photoshop and I would like comments on things around my skill, not the sexual level of my picture.
I apologize for not stating that out right, but is it my fault that I assumed people would be mature about this?
Besides, I don't remeber ANY other person getting critized for their pictures sexual level here EVER. If I did this picture strictly for complients on her boobs, then I would of done a MUCH better job on showing it.
Did you do this to drexxin? :p
(and I remember how you said you hate Vovolay slut so much)
DreXxiN dislikes the look of my female cast.
Let me make this striaght with this whole, 'hate against Voloyal suit' thing.
I was angered by the people who'd put this on their character and state, "This look is so original!" I'm sorry, but no. No it's not. Putting on a highly popualr suit does NOT make you original what so ever. It's the same with making a Final Fantasy character here. There's a reason you named your character after something, because it's already been done before, aka not original.
I have my character dressed this way knowing it's not original, so I don't flaunt it around saying it is.
As for the suit, I do however, like it. I just wish it wasn't as slutty as it is. I like my cast the way she is. No, it's not original, but I have three other characters to make up for it.
^This was all just explination. I do not go on the "fasion" threads and rant about this any longer knowing that everyone has a right to their own opinion. If you disagree with me then tough shit. This is my opinion on it.
With that being said, I hope, Arika, you can understand my veiws on this now and that you don't bring it up yet again.
So, to clairify, I'm trying to get better at coloring my pictures with photoshop. If you have any advice for me, please let me know. Comment if you'd like.

The spoiler-box is not nessacary and I don't really think it's 'that' sexual.. my works easely beat yours when it comes to being disturbing and sexual. If you still think it is, put a warning in the topic title..
I could comment on your coloring, but I have no idea what goal/style you have in mind..

The texture on her leggins is nice. (leggins?)
What woudl you say for making the outlines blend with the colors around them vs black? I say this because the outline is very thick.

Its an easy technique too. A new layer, above your lineart, hold ALT and click between the new layer and the lineart (a chain link like symbol should appear) now when you work on the top layer only the lines will change color.
Also not commented on sexuality? You kidding me? One members sig is purposely on comments about their boobs. That eugenic fellows work was always commented on its sexuality (and maybe their skill too barely.)

First off, you never said anything about comments at all. You didn't ask for them, but you didn't say you didn't want any either. You didn't say whether you just wanted critizism and tips or the mere passing comments that make up about 70-90% of most replies to art in fan works, until the post I just quoted came along. Also, when people put up a piece of work on a public forum, they usually expect comments. And yes, your assumptions are indeed your fault. You failed to calculate a (possibly obvious) outcome. That's no one else's fault, just yours.
And you're right, there are a lot of other artists in here that have high sexual levels. And you know what, most people get compliments for it, just in the way they like to hear. The difference here is I wasn't registered on this site to say they were slutty at the time. Well, now I am, and you just happened to be the first. I assure you, you are not special. I apologize for putting you under the illusion you were. But I'm not going to bother going back to each and every slutty image over the months and comment on them. I'll comment as they come. You just happened to be first.
Though while we're on the subject, describing this image as "slutty" is not immature at all. Even you yourself admit it is slutty. Me calling it slutty is no different than other people calling a pretty picture "pretty," which the equivalent of happens a lot in fan works. Hell, I'm requesting a pin-up style piece of work from qox, you think I honestly care if your image is slutty? Being slutty is just being slutty, that's it, if you took it negatively or had a problem with it, then perhaps you shouldn't have made you (self-proclaimed!) slutty image slutty.
I do not go on the "fasion" threads and rant about this any longer knowing that everyone has a right to their own opinion. If you disagree with me then tough shit. This is my opinion on it.
I'm no fan of the fashion guys either, but the irony here is just oh so delicious.

yes, you are on the internets you know..
I agree with Holio here that you need to make clear that you only want feedback on your coloring.
Other then that I can't really give any feedback since I don't know your goals with your coloring..

Thank you for that. I used a clip art of rattlesnake skin, toned it, made it black and white, twised, and cropped it for each leg. Makes it more realistic right? ^^
As for natural outlines, I'd like to do that one day, just kinda confusing right now. I'm more of a sketcher so I kinda need lines to guide myself when I color ^^:
blah blah.
If you aren't here to help me or leave a comment, then please do not post here.

I will next time.
What I want out of my coloring is a more realistic look. I know I draw anime style, but I'm not a fan of the coloring of animes. I'd like to color things to look more realistic (and draw a little more realistic too >_>; ).

I left a legitimate comment. The forum is no one's playground, and you sure as hell can't order anyone around as to where they can and can't post, be it your thread or not. I'll be damned if some egotistical artist that can't take a word like slutty being used to describe a piece of her art that very much fits the word has such power. You don't like what I have to say, VBullshit has this wonderful little ignore function you can click so you never have to read my posts again.

Thats just the magic of it, though you can do all of the color outlines AFTER you do your work...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v26/Snoopychan/tut3.jpg
See, i did the Alt Click, so now that colorme layer is linked with the Line Art...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v26/Snoopychan/tut4.jpg
See that looks good! Color anywhere you want with line art to get some display.
Make sure you did that though else http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v26/Snoopychan/tut5.jpg NOOO!

Oh! I see now! So just alt+click eh? Neato! I'll try t some time. Thanks Say~ ^_^
Oh, another way I'd like to color is like, uh... I have no idea how to say it, but I'll give an example.

See how some things are slightly see-through and how her hair kinda fades into see-through? I just love the colors and how it blends, thr brightness and how things are lighted/shaded.
Not sure if theres any guidlines for this type of coloring, but I'd sure love to color like it ^^ (Seems like I'll have no outlines at all for this style <_< )

It looks like a blend of high opacity painting, and low opacity painting (that makes it see through)
It also feels like a vector with how sharp all the painted angles look. That would require the pen tool.. something out of my leauge.
As for natural outlines, I'd like to do that one day, just kinda confusing right now. I'm more of a sketcher so I kinda need lines to guide myself when I color ^^:
You can make switching from one technique to another to be a progressive process.
Maybe you could first try doing some more refined sketch (but not to the extent of a clean final lineart), and color the piece with this sketch turned on low opacity, then adding some cleaner and sharper lines on a separate layer (with the help of that sketch again), and using the line coloring technique Sayara explained to you on it.
At some point, you'll feel comfortable enough to skip the 'refined sketch' stage and start the coloring (including colored lineart) immediately after you first sketched your drawing.
Wasn't my explanation too confusing?

Uhhmm drawing more realistic: Draw real humans and try to memorize as much as possible. Little by little you'll learn how to draw more realistic.
As for realistic coloring:
• Try to keep blending layers like burn and dodge to a minimum.
• Try to use ordinary brushes in ordinary layers.
• Don't use outlines (kindoff hard the first time you try, using sayara's line coloring method will be fine to start with).
• Try to use reality as your reference.
I can't really explain how to do it. My methods of achieving 'realism' are pretty bad and time consuming so you're probably better off not knowing.
[spoiler-box]
if you still feel like trying you can follow my way to complex tutorial:
http://Sappel.deviantart.com/art/Qreal-Coloring-Tutorial-104958743 [/spoiler-box]
As for pretty colors:
Make use of adjustment layers in photoshop. I always use brightness/contrast and a Hue/saturation on any of my drawings, just to set the right mood for the picture.

Alrighty! Thanks for all the advice. =)
For the drawing style I'd like to achieve, I kinda know what to do, just gotta practice more. I want it to look more realistic and lss cartoony, but never full realistic. That's just boring :"P
I do try to stay away from burn/dodge as well, but that's when I start getting confused with my shading/highlighting. I know that things dont just become whiter/blacker, and instead they change to lighter/darker tones. I just have trouble finding those tones. I tried that on a art peice once, and the starting color was a dark velvet and when I tried to highlight, it became purple :x ...
One thing I know that is difficult with no-outline coloring is that things start to become sloppy. Like certain smooth things have small bumps in them, and etc. It's hard to go around and smooth out everything, but that's where a lot of your time goes anyway (which is detailing and finishing) for the picture.
As far as having any reference, it's really easy to get shapes and proportions just right. Thing is, I enjoy drawing things from my own imagination, and I lack the skill to put it exactly like I see it on paper (or a pallete). But, this is fixed with more practice as we all know :P
Thing with the colors is that I want to make sure my pictures have lots of color in them, but then things become real complicated when you have that many shades/tones/etc to work with. Another thing to worry about is the colors compimenting one another, and since I like to keep things as even as possible, makes it even more difficult. Not sure how to fix this, but this is something that I have to deal with when I'm done with everything else.
Lots to work on still, but I'll continue to strive for it. I'll make a new pic and see how I can fit all this in, step by step. ^_^
Thanks agin for all the advice.

I alwyas pick 3 colors per character that get the focus (Qox is green(clothing), orange(hair) and blue(eyes). It's easy to pick 3 colors that compliment eachother. Later I flat colors down with a hue/saturation layer on lowish opacity
Edit:
You can also download some PSD files of mine (you'll probably need CS3 for it) to get an idea of how you can layer stuff without using to many burn/dodge layers.
I still got this one online:
http://jojo.sappusx.com/ok69small.zip
I can upload any of my drawing if you want, just tell which ones
