Schools give out laptops? What the hell? When did this happen? Back when I was a freshman in High School we got two things. Jack and Shit. All I know is that my high school had a lot of uppity teachers and stuck-up rich kids. Oh and should I be ashamed about looking up Shred the Darkness porn? I mean, who isn't curious?

Actually, no, wait. I take that back. I was going to ramble on about how schools don't give out decent hardware, and ... that's still quite valid, but yes, some schools do bundle in laptops with tuition. I remember St.John's gave you a IBM ThinkPad, and were too embarrassed to list detailed specs. And SAE Institute (audio engineering place in the city) gave out bottom tier Macbooks bundled with basic software.

Leviathan, just to clarify - Is this a laptop your school has given you to take home and do schoolwork on or is this just a computer set up in the school for you to use?

We have [rather, HAD] Dell Latitudes. They are alright, but we got new ones this year and I can honestly say those were the worst ones ever.

Since I am in Media Technology/Broadcasting we also have Macbook Pros and iMacs in our classroom.

Nest year we get Asus Netbooks.

It's a laptop given to me from the school, but every summer you give it back in.

Powered by the federal government, Dell [Not anymore?], and grants.

I forgot to add that our Dells cost more than an entry level polycarbonate Macbook. :disapprove:
