No, not another campaign over Fantasy Grounds... I mean the lack luster DnD Online MMO, later this summer it will be going F2P, but right now you can get a free 10 day trial and play around with everything, except the Drow

Does it suck?

Its a bit more complex than other MMO's you activate you guard for a bonus to reduce damage, instead of it being a statistic. Leveling takes a bit of time, and dungeons are actually interesting, Rogues can disable traps so the party doesn't have to wade through it.

Only jobs will be Fighter, Rogue, Sorcerer, Wizard, Cleric, Barbarian, Ranger... I think I forgot a few, but Monk will only be available to VIP members, as will Drow and Warforged Races.

The Cap will be raised to 20, I know that seems like a low level, but leveling is a bit grindy x.x You need 5 ranks in a level to gain 1 level... Its something a little different than point and click.

What's a warforged race, I don't even know.

They're basically magical robots.

Mook, are you familiar with D&D? If so, my question is this: how does the MMO differ from actual D&D play?

Because if it basically just plays like you're taking part in one massive D&D campaign, that could be a lot of fun.

It really is like playing in a large Campaign. The quest system is a bit similar to WoW, with talk to NPC go finish quest. The game differs a bit in this manner since you don't gain Exp Normally, and you can choose to increase the difficulty of said quest when you enter the dungeon to complete it. The game also allows you to repeat quests and gain multiple rewards from them, however each time you do the quest you gain less and less experience from it.

The difficulties are Solo, Normal, Hard, and Elite, usually increasing it they just throw more monsters at you. You can gain bonus Exp for smashing objects, detecting and disabling traps, getting the most kills >.>

Exp it awarded at the end of the quest, kind of like in a normal DnD campaign, at the start of the game you get a lot of short quests, I finished them on Average in about 5 minutes each. Raising the difficulty also increases the base amount of exp you get.

Leveling it is like DnD also, except they aren't magical levels out of no where you actually have to seek out a trainer, but the upside is, you can multiclass! Not something you normally see in an MMO. As I mentions before leveling is also a bit grindy, you need 5 ranks to gain a level, each rank grants you some action points you can go spend on enhancement powers for your character. Like Fighters can go and buy a power that increases their AC by +2 for 20 seconds.

Character creation, I was going to do a picture walk-Through for you guys, but it won't let me. Character creation you choose if you want to be a Melee, a Spellcaster, or a Specialist, after choosing that you choose what class you actually want, we'll say Melee, and choose fighter for this bit. Now that your class is selected, you choose a path, which I can only assume is a pre-generated build for your character, but they also give you the option of Custom, so we'll go with Custom since that gives me full access to my own personal build. Races, choose a race from Human, Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Warforged or Drow, we'll choose Human. Next up is Look, which is the meat and bones of DnD assigning stats, skills, feats, and polishing the actual looks of your character. Finally giving your character a Name, Surname, and Alignment(Anything except Evil is available)

I don't like the idea of restricting race and class selection based on that VIP bit (which I would assume means giving them money), especially if it means I don't get to play as the robots without paying. Unless the robots suck, then it won't bother me so much, DGAF about drow and monks

3.5 Warforged suck, you basically get a Natural Armor bonus, but you can not gain the effects of other armor, or its magical effects. So basically your AC never improves. Using 1 of 2 feats(I can't find the third) you can gain a +6 or a +8 AC, but you are considered wearing Heavy Armor and thus if you are a caster you will always suck at casting. The Third feat which I cannot find actually allows you to wear armor and gain the bonuses from it... except you have to spend a feat, to be able to wear any kind of armor. 3/3.5 Warforged aren't all that great, so you aren't missing out

I don't care about all that, I want to play as the robot, but I don't want to pay money for it. :[

Well download the Trial and play a Warforged for 10-days, They really aren't that great :-P Unless this was 4e, then they'd be awesome.

I'll gladly join along side you, I have fun with the game, but its a bit boring to play alone, like all MMOs can be. Though I dunno, how long it would take you to download the 4gig install...

I'm downloading it right now (they sure did hide the damn installer, though) just to try a bite. I don't expect it will be very good. In fact, I hope it won't be to my liking at all.

I can use the fancy payshop race and classes with the trial? I might DL it and make a warforged monk for the hell of it then, and if I decide I like the game make something free after that. Probably something obnoxious, like elf barbarian.

The game won't be f2p till later this summer, so you have access to all the content, except Drow
