Race/Sex break down of characters played.

I often wondered how many of what race would players be using as their mains?

If I had to guess I would break it down like this.

35% Male Casts.
8% Female Casts.

26% Male Beasts.
5% Female Beasts.

2% Male Newmans.
15% Female Newmans.

3% Male Humans.
6% Fenake Humans.

I base this on what I see during an event and I usually see a lot of male Beasts and CASTS. What do you all think?

I would think there is more than 8% that has F cast as their main, if not I'm one of the 8% =)

My 2 mains are female: cast and newman
My 2 alts are female: beast and cast

as far as population goes i think there are actually more female characters to male characters at least PC/PS2 side. but i honestly dont play on UNI 2 ever anymore so i could be wrong. i just know from what i see on uni 6 and any other UNIs, that i run into mostly female characters.

I can't pick a main these days it just comes down to which character has the luck or is best suited for the mission I'm running. I'm sure a lot of other players with maxed characters do the same. But for speculation those numbers seem decent except I think it would be the other way around with male/female humans.

How did you get your %'s?
Just because you see the people as that character during events means nothing. People level up alt characters while the EXP boost is in affect.
I personally used my Female Cast most of the event, she started 138 then ended up 150. I didn't bother using my other characters because they are leveled. I now use her the most.
You cant get %'s like this because, there's definitely way more F Newmans, and male Casts out there lol.
Might want to reconsider your theory.

well in a game like this it's hard to say really. in something like FFXI where people only level ONE character because its just too much work, it's alot easier to do a population %. where as on this game when people level up 4 different characters/classes/genders it cant really be done. as someone said earlier there are alot of people with more than one main that they play and switch off depending on luck or other factors.

I did say "Guess" in my quote and you are right they are just thrown out there to see what others might think the break down is. I wonder if one of the GMs on the official boards would know the break down of characters played? Of course a GM wouldn't know which character was a main other than maybe going by time played.

No surprise to me that there are more female characters on JP than male ones. I'd suspect the same on US, too

Though according to the huge number of base classes in the second chart, I wonder how many alts and other low-levels are sitting around unplayed and how that impacts the race/gender chart

I play my man cast(first character ever) less than I play my Female newman, or female cast. I play my man beast even less than that.

Been seeing more casts and newmans often than beasts and humans, as for the harassment i probly told him/her to gtfo.

I play my beast more often than my cast for some reason or maybe my newman since i did started on still PAs when i first started on psu online instead of bullet PAs.

All that i can agree on is that Male Newman/human is the least used from a personal view.

I don´t really know why though. Nothing wrong with a male force really lol.

My Newman used to be my main before expansion. But then i got bored of teching.
So i only use him rarely during events now...that spark has lost it magic for me. =(

It´s easiely seen that i don´t use him that often.
Everyone else is at current cap...

Well if we take out Hunter, Ranger and Force since most likely that's cuz of bank alts they never use. That should look more like this(not perfect but u get the point):

The bottom graph shows that 10% of the characters on the JP server are lv.1 and a leading majority of all characters are lv.20 or below
So those are all likely bank alts, PM alts, or characters just made for their looks

From what I've seen:

Male Cast outnumber female
Male human outnumber female by a lot
Male beast is about equal to female in numbers.
Female newman outnumber male by a lot

Most main(day 1) character are male human.
