Slightly disappointed, but not surprised at all. Back to hitting the 160 cap.
I have 3 characters to get to 160, so any time I have to level them w/o worrying about using the pa's I want to level is good.
Hopefully next week, maybe?

Don't think the PC/PS2 servers would survive another update drought like the one last year. Even during events (STD) it barely gets over 1* on uni 2 now... x.x;

.......i guess I should be used to this but its sad when you have to expected low standers.

Also it's kind sad when people have to use excuses for their lack off updates and screw ups. I don't know I usually don't say much but I kinda getting upset with their screw ups all together. Its not just this it's for the start of PSU to now.

I guess people will tell me I could just quit......idk maybe I should..... The main reason I stay is because there something that tells me it will get better but I'm always proved wrong.

*insert "No Updates" comic here*

I think Segac is starting to appeal to my inner masochist. Every week they say they are gonna give out updates and such and then they pull it back and go "Nope! None for you!". I think Segac means "Update Nazi" in German or something.

Jun 24, 2009, 02:07 PM
Whilst SEGA are away on their summer holiday, this is their message to you to "enjoy a healthy lifestyle". After all, this is a game that you can play for a month or two, do everything, then leave for a year without missing too much.

In the time since I quit, I've increased the value of my home by 5%, when the rest of the homes in my neighborhood are down 10-15%. You can do some cool things when you don't play this game.

Don't let PSU get you down. ;-)

So, yeah... Took a few months break... Decided to come back cause I heard of the reward bonuses coming, and found out a few game buddies still play... So, I activate... No one is ever on, no updates, and the few people on are in the lobby talking about random sh!t. And the only couple parties there are way too low, or S2, but locked... And, I can't solo S2 White Beast on an AT. Well, I could but it'd be alot of cheap deaths, and slow going, and thats no fun. Who pays a monthly subscription to play solo?

Been trying to keep busy but it's pretty boring can play a few missions solo, or with one or two people and it still sucks, and gets old. Was really looking forward to these updates, and the people they were going to call back to take advantage of them.

Triple_S
Jun 24, 2009, 04:56 PM
People are spamming Innocent Girl right now. A solo quest with boosts and new, good drops does that to people.

Yes, it's a solo quest. It's also easy aside from some really cheap traps. It's the best way to get EXP, MP and items now. People don't want to bother partying up, it seems.

The Innocent Girl update was what many were hoping would be a sign of PSU coming back. Instead, with SEGA baiting us with rewards and summer announcements that are overdue already, people doing nothing but soloing.. I fear that it is the opposite.

I really do grow tired of the delays, get off your ass segac and supply us with the demand we ask for. All this bullshit with waiting till the end of the months so that everyone has to pay another 10 bucks to renew there lisence so you can make a quick buck is growing very tiresome. I feel like this game would have so much more potential if it wasnt run by a conglomerate of greedy businessman who would rather make money than provide us with what we pay for and only ask for. Seriously sega you developed a game that had great potential and then are ruining it by making everything you do a business venture in milking your fans for as much as you possibly can and then more.

I love how everyone compares ourselves with the Japanese when some of our players have screwed things up in the past - meseta flood, glitch abuse and other such things.

As old as the bawing can get (and it does) I think you're giving our pals at Sega too much credit. They are lucky we, the loyal player base, put up with their half-heated attempt at management, plain and simple. I shouldn't be as bitter and indifferent about potential update information/prizes/events down the road as I am with a game that I love. But I know and you know that in any given situation it is only a matter of time before Sega drops the ball, be it a faulty server, meseta hax, or a lack in updates that lasts, ohhh, only the majority of the summer. I love this game and I think I always will, that does not change the fact that I hate the way I've been treated, particularly considering the amount of money I've sunk into this little venture since launch. I deserve the right to demand better. And so do you.

They were all found out on the JP side first..?

I didn't know that. I'm serious, I really didn't.

I just assumed that the Japanese player base kept it quiet or a little more controlled than it happened on this side's servers.

Then perhaps the lack of updates is because we expect too much..? World of Warcraft and FFIX don't update every week, do they..? Granted, things are released on a global scale but they've got a lot more staff to work with.

I'd hate to be the localisation team (or person) to translate all of the text in an update, build the webpage for it, check the update, test the update and ensure things go smoothly.

I wonder if it really is as easy as some people here make it out to be. I know that things that look easy usually are NEVER easy.

I don't think it has anything to do with PSU's content, seriously. When you're expecting something, and the opposite happens MULTIPLE times, it just starts to piss you off. PSU has more than enough content and missions. The thing that pisses people off however is how incompetent the people running it are. If sega had flat-out said "Expect the rewards July 3rd", then people wouldnt get so fucking pissed off when we expect something 2 weeks in a row but dont get it. Their "Military Silence" technique also makes it absolutely no better. If they would just SET DATES and COMMUNICATE, it wouldn't be so bad.

The JP360 site announces these things, but they dont say SHIT on our end. Thats what messes them up. Even if we misinterpert things, theres no way for us to ever tell because SEGA doesnt even TELL you what the hell is going on. They just let you fester in your fury until they pop outta the rabbit hole like "HEY HERES THE UPDATE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR BE HAPPY NOW AND SHUT THE FUCK UP".

WoW has bi-weekly updates, new content is released on average every month and a half to 2 months with big content patches around every 4 to 6 months. if there is a bug or problem the servers close and the techs fix the problem, they usually get done in an hour or two and glitches and bugs don't last very long like 2 or 3 hours live on a server, but thats because blizzard uses public test servers and the content is tested on separate servers by the gamers prior to live launch.

im not saying ST have it wrong in the way they take the servers down and do a half arsed patch, meaning we have a roll back every 2/3 updates.......... oh am I saying that...... ah what the hell.

Jun 27, 2009, 07:03 PM
I've played both WoW and FFXI personally, and I'll be honest, ST's service pales in comparison to how Blizzard and SE take care of their games. Some people don't like to admit it, either because they have blind devotion to PSU and it's makers (ST) or they just don't know any better, but ST just has poor service, and they handle everything in a half-assed manner most of the time. Granted, complaining about the service and maintenance/update issues won't solve anything, but I can see why people are frustrated and feel like venting their grief on the forums. I still love playing the game, and will continue to play PSU until the servers shut down for good, but I have enough common sense to know that the support behind the game is below average, and that's putting it nicely.

Calsetes
Jun 27, 2009, 07:13 PM
I know that FFXI keeps up with its updates and whatnot, even though their ideas of releasing new stuff without expansion packs are few and far between. I honestly am just not a fan of the game because I played it back when if you wanted to play it and feel like you did ANYTHING in it that day, you had to devote 6-8 hours to finding a party and killing stuff WITHOUT dying even once. Too often I've waited 3 hours for a party, only to (as the tank) die because someone wasn't healing me, then have the entire party disband after that kill, thus making me end the day on an extremely sour note. I was told it's different now, but it doesn't matter to me - it's dead, buried, and fallen the way of every other FF game - not being touched by me.

Anywho, just a bit of a break in between things, which is kind of good. Too many events and we'd be burnt out, and it gives me longer to find an Igg Crown (which I STILL have yet to find any, even after killing probably a good 30-50 Iggs, if not more, and the few that do drop go to other people who say they help, but then decide "they'll go for the outfit too and will help me get mine," and then never see another crown drop that goes to them. They still help, but we just don't get any crowns.)

The whole waiting around for parties thing is what killed FFXI for me too. Although I did play the game for a solid 3 years before quitting. But everything about that game is painfully difficult and time consuming, and requires a full party to an alliance most of the time. There's so little that you can solo, it makes getting anywhere in the game a chore. At least here, you can pretty much get everything you need solo.

Also, I want to add that I find it hilarious how many people are spending hours at a time hunting for a single item that just gives them a spiffy new outfit. What people will do for clothing in this game astounds me.

What's the difference between clothes and weapons...?

So the weapon deals about 100 more DPS..? The mission is cleared a little easier..?

Some people can LOOK at their characters easier too if they spend hours and hours hunting for their clothes..!

Heh heh - but I agree.

Maintenance or no maintenance though, I'm fairly sure that even if updates were periodically performed each and every week, there would still be people complaining. People still complain about WoW and FFXI being too easy/hard in many respects and whenever the servers are taken down, the official forums are RIFE with people complaining that they pay x amount each month to keep the servers ONLINE.

People complain online because it's easy, it's warmer than protesting and cheaper to do it from the comfort of their homes than in front of the company's building.

Wow... a character named Paizuri... how is that name not banned yet...?!

A name isn't offensive if they don't know what it means, and I've met quite a few that thought nothing of it!

Also, even if the gains are small, better weapons actually do make a difference in how you perform. Clothing looks nice and all, but there's no benefit from having rare clothes other than "Hey, look at me lulz." Not bashing anyone for wanting the Guardians Formal if that's what they want, but I can't justify spending hours every day trying to get it like some people are.

It's true that people will always complain about something, regardless what the game is, because that's human nature, and it's so easy to do on the internet when someone can't bash you in the face for disagreeing with you. But a lot of the complaints about PSU are well justified. Now that doesn't mean we should always complain, since that obviously won't solve anything, but most of what's said in these forums is the sad truth.

What's this? Sega delaying updates?
Well, this is certainly new and exciting!

Honestly, eh. Few more weeks of White Beast/Innocent Girl spamming won't harm anyone.

I'd be willing to believe that contrary to your statement, it can severely damage one's health.

I enjoy the downtime personally. It gives me time to lvl PAs and farm some materials until the next event comes.

The irony of the reasoning you like downtime is that the rewards will make those activites more pleasant and simpler.

Not really. It gives me a chance to get some PAs higher so when the rewards come, I won't have as far to go to cap them. Secondly, farming materials won't be any easier come reward time. ;p

I've actually been playin more with Reimu. Something about leveling Strike PAs instead of Bullet PAs is alot more fun. Maybe because its the crazy amount of ass-whuppery that Strike PAs do. An' when I say crazy amount of ass-whuppery I mean like Afro Samurai level.

Ok, I forgive you. I haven't really been spending as much time as I could at hunting Igg Crown, anyway.

And I'll be spending even less time doing it come this friday.

sonic team is delaying the rewards on purpose, maybe to give them to us with an event? think about it, events usually last about 3 weeks. than we hear that they extended the rewards for 3weeks. coincidence?i think not........... but they could pull their usual," okay heres the rewards but youll have to wait 3 more weeks for the event." :D

hah! knew i was right. lol
