I am playing off-line only and I recently got to Ultimate mode at level 69 with my HUmar - Rubicon and this is the first time I got to Ultimate. No joke all the monsters were smacking me down in one hit. Not killing me but just so annoying having to get up all the time. I then leveled up to 77 and I was still having this problem with most of the monsters in the Forest. My defense is about 400 and I am using a Yamato grinded to + 60.... am I too low of a level to be taking on Ultimate?

I'm in lvl 79. I already made it to mines. But it's hard. The new ghilchics almost never fall down when hit like before. I'm a fomarl so imagine all the fluids I have to waiste. Gonna stay in forest for a little longer. Untill lvl 90 I guess.

Well when I first got the Ultimate I was a lucky lvl 64 RAmar. I managed to get there after waisting 3 or 4 scapes on V.Hard Faltz. This is my first EP I&II character, so I don't have some like amazing lvled weapons or mag. even though my mag is lvl 125 POW, and such. but anyways. I was lvl 64 when I first stepped to Ultimate mode. I was then beated down like a little school girl smacked to the ground. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Well I am lvl 80 now, and Ultimate mode isnt hard anymore(Forest) but online ruins I was killed before even hitting the ground once. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Well I would recomment lvl like 90+ before trying to go far with Ultimate mode, cause I have realized that 80 isn't really enough. But if you enjoy doing the forest over and over again, then more power to you, cause you can do that now.

I got to ultimate when i was 71(HUnewearl) at first i could last about 2 rooms, but then i just got my mag 29 lvls of dex, and now me and my king gatling +9(0/30/0/0/25) hardly ever die any more (76 now) i made it to caves, but decided i won't try them till im about 80-85.

I agree, cause those Lillys in the caves and that Nasty Megid is just wrong. So I kinda gave caves a rest, a couple more levels and Im gonna show them whos boss. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I agree that my ATA might not be high enough as I miss the enemies quite often. I started to raise a new MAG with these stats:
Def - 25
Pow - 125
Dex - 50
Mind - 0
It's curently at level 117 and I have a ways to go before I equip it. I have a Graviton Plate and 4 add slots and I was tempted to use them on the Graviton Plate... but the Plate lowers ATA by 10 and I need all the ATA I can get. lol

Can you get online? I could give you a nice pair of good mechguns with Hit and native %. This will let you hit them from afar and kill them pretty fast. Other than that, you might wanna try always using J/Z and keep away from three-hit combos on the Yamato.

Ultimate comes down to two things, really.
1. Enemies are faster, so you may need to adjust your tactics. Get used to doing two-hit combos. Get used to taking more time running around to get optimum distance/clumping/alignment of the moons.
2. Enemies are hard to hit. You'd think that if anyone could hit things, it'd be a RAmar with a God/Arm, and a mag that gives a chunk of DEX. That's me, and I still miss things. Weapons with a +Hit% are very important to Ultimate.
But, it's worth it! I've just started Ultimate Mines, and even though I'm getting the smackity smack smacked out of me at L77, the XP is great, and the %s that I'm finding on weapons are unreal. Found one that was 40/40/30/15/35. Too bad it was a cane. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Too bad weapons can only have percents to three areas. You must have forgotten what it's real %s were. =/

What is J/Z? I'm new to PSO as I got it for the game cube like a month or so ago. Unfortunately for the time being I can't go online as of yet. I do plan to get Broadband soon so I can play Online. I enjoy playing split screen on the Game Cude with my friend so I can just Imagine playing online http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Ah, ok. I meant the spells Jellen and Zalure. At high levels, they lower the defense and power of the surrounding monsters.

Ahh... Makes sense. I do try to stay away from the 3 hit combo with the Yamato. I usually do 1 regular attack followed by a heavy attack that hits twice then run. Playing on Ultimate is like a whole new game http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Ultimate Episode I is NOTHING compared to Ultimate Episode II. Ultimade Episode II's in a league all on its own. Episode I can't even begin to compare to its degree of difficulty!

AWESOME!! Gives me something to look forward to. I barely play any Episode II... That and going online will keep me interested in this game for a long time http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

My HUne made it to Ult at 61, but then again I always went crazy on defense so I didn't take that much damage. Anyways, its not that hard, you just have to be careful, I went through the caves at 64 taking it a few hits at a time. Your level should be fine. By the way, my mag is 50/100/50/0, and that ATA and defense is a great help, I'd never trade it for more ATP, least not any time in the near future

I walked into Ult. Temple Ep.II, suffice it to say I didn't make it very far.
I've spent about 20 some odd levels doing the Forest/Sil Dragon, Fake in Yellow and Forest of Sorrow quests over and over.
I'm a level 104 RAmar and I still fear the Ob Lily Megid! (I Have always hated the Caves.)
I suggest doing the Forest for a while, until you're comfortable with Ult. mode, and find some yummy weapons. I found my RED HANDGUN of a Tallow (drool) with 0/20/15/0, that I grinded to +50 immediately and a GUARD WAVE off a Pal Rappy (4 SLOTS!!!!) last night in Forest of Sorrow quest.
I plan to do a lot more Forest Runs, until I can kill stuff in 3-4 hits. I'm incredibly conservative when it comes to progression.
Just move on when you feel comfortable.

Thanx for everyone's help. I can't wait to go home and do some leveling up so I can do Ultimate Forest runs with little difficulty. I need to find some Rare defensive items. I think that may also be a part of my problem. All I've found so far is the Graviton Plate. My I.D is SKYLY is there any particular defensive item that is a must have for Hunters?

Ha ha, not really..I did forest for 50ish levels wearing a Soul Frame and Soul barrier (Level 13 to equip). See, I had been corrupted so...

Well Skyly can find great units, God/HP from a VH Nar Lily and God/Body from a VH Pouilly, those might help you out a bunch. Aside from that there aren't really any PARTICULARLY good armors for Skyly to find except in Ult. I'd say just go for some experience now and hope the armor comes to you as you go =), just don't worry too much about it.

I went to Dark Falz on very hard mode at level 79 just about to get to level 80 also but I had already beaten the forest, caves, and mines to gain experiance so there wasn't a SINGLE ENEMY i could fight. I got to the 3rd form and forgot my special guns!!! OH NO...so i used a laser a found in the ruins and killed him. And to my surprise I got to level 80 right then and there.
