Sonic Birthday Event for Friday July 10th

This past June 23rd was Sonic the Hedgehog's birthday, and he's decided to celebrate the occasion by touring the galaxy! It's been a while since he's stopped by the Gurhal System, and Sonic and Tails miss all of their friends in Phantasy Star Universe -- so the duo will be stopping by for an extensive tour this Friday, July 10th!

They year, the famous hedgehog & his twin-tailed sidekick are looking for an extensive tour of Parum, Neudaiz, Moatoob, and the GUARDIANS Colony -- and it will be up to players to escort them from lobby to lobby and show them the sights!

The Event

Starting early on Friday, Sonic and Tails will appear in one of the starting lobbies in Phantasy Star Universe. After a brief tour and stopping to say 'hello', Sonic and Tails will form separate parties with intrepid GUARDIANS. It's up to you to take them safely from lobby to lobby, and show them the most interesting sights all across Gurhal.

It will be your job to keep the duo safe and keep them from wandering off, and to guide the pair from one lobby to the next. Sonic and Tails will be back throughout the day, since they want to see as many areas of PSU as they can!

Sonic and Tails are able to run any mission rank, from C - S2, so GUARDIANS of all levels who wish to participate are encouraged to do so.


Schedule

Sonic & Tails have a lot of friends around the Gurhal System, and they're always interested in meeting new people -- so they'll be busy all day long to have a chance to partner with as many GUARDIANS as possible. All times listed below are PDT.

* 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: PC/PS2
* 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Xbox 360
* 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: PC/PS2
* 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Xbox 360
* 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: PC/PS2
* 5:00: PM - 6:00 PM: Xbox 360
* 6:15 PM - 7:00 PM: PC/PS2
* 7:15 PM - 7:45 PM: Xbox 360

Rules & Prizes

Participation in mission events with Sonic & Tails is not required in order to win a prize! All you have to do to qualify is say the following phrase -- once, and once only -- at any time during July 10th:

Happy Birthday Sonic!

You will then automatically be awarded the following prizes (both of these are decorative room items) at a future maintenance:

* NiGHTS Statue
* Birthday Candelle

The NiGHTS statue was previously only available on Xbox 360 servers from the Demo Weekend event, while the Birthday Candelle room item has never before appeared on Western servers.

The item we will be giving players for this event is actually a little different than the one in that picture.

It's quite similar, but the text will read "Happy Birthday!", and the colors of the candle are also different. Edward will have a picture of the item up on the SEGA Blogs soon. :)

Ya know what? That would be a cool easter egg if that happened. Sonic just goes into a werehog form that is akin to the Power NanoBlast.

Like a reskin for Sonic Unleashed? the problem would be the proportions, we have always seen giant Nanoblast, not midgets like the Wherehog lol (but I would enjoy it, and I would enjoy even more if Nanoblast had a quarter of the abilities of the Wherehog O_O)

A shame the same people can join the missions over and over, i'd love for a try to run with sonic or tails (just to see how the characters attack and move, what weapons they gave them and etc) but the parties fill within seconds. ^^;

On the 360 Tails was on GC uni 2 1st floor. Sonic was in uni 3 1st floor of GC. That was for 11am and 2pm. I didn't bother for 5pm.

I raced him and got it on video. I will post it on the screenshot and movie thread when its done uploading. I also got a video of tails at the Parum cafe, but Youtube cut the ending off. Hopefully that won't happen with the race vid.
