and then promptly uninstalled it. It was like having a second iTunes installed on this computer. Having both installed caused my paging ram usage to spike to 1.1 Gigs due to both of them having a networking process always running. It's bad enough iTunes has two of them but I have to get it from winamp as well, eh no thanks. So foobar2000 it is then. >_>

Nope (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrong), I was looking at the Cpu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cpu) usage via Cacheman and I saw the spike in paging (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paging) traffic. Plus my computer was slowing down something fierce, then there's the matter of the networking process (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Process_%28computing%29). In short, *stuffs a bottle of GOD down Zarode's throat.*

Clearly what we have here is a failure to install the proper version. Winamp 2.95 is the lightest media player I've had the pleasure to meet. You're gonna love that llama.

You never mentioned the old pre-AOL version...besides, I already installed foobar2000. :/

I had foobar
once
a couple years ago.
I couldn't figure out the advantage. Perhaps I wasn't patient enough with it.

Anything my trusty, slightly rusty Winamp can't handle (mkv) I just had over to VLC, which I've found more than capable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VLC_media_player#Features).

Yeah, VLC is a pretty awesome media player.

Hm. So I decided to get 2.95. Currently using four times less memory than the latest version.

k-codec lite...

it plays practically every video format out there, and works as an extension to windows media player
